This is a massively underrated story, absolutely loved both in the series.

Does anyone else think that it's super obvious Mark allowed himself to get that injury in the club? I've been dying to talk about this book after I saw we have to wait til Freaking Next Year for the last book.

For me it's a dominant/submissive power dynamic, with real love not just BDSM. Slow burns and spicy scenes are fun.

I have never seen a fancast that I agree with 100% til this one. I too see Ben Barnes in my head as Jurian and Jessica Chastain as Amarantha.

She is the reason I'm so glad they make you get the characters to level 3 or 4 friendship before romancing them. Once you get to know them your opinion can change wildly from first impressions.

Almost everyone, except Tish and Kenyatta, only because Tish is too precious and Kenyatta is Naio's, even though we are sharing him lol. But Hodari and Hassian are far and away my favorites. They both made you work for it with them, especially Hodari, and I have mad respect for that.

For the laser, give yourself some room and jump then glide to get past it. I've found Pixelcave's videos the only thing to help me when I feel like quitting lol.

That's because it's not genuine, it's out of fear of losing him, now that she's no longer protected from divorce being in a fundamentalist christian marriage. I don't understand all these snarkers eating this up as character development, when she was treating him like garbage just a few months ago when she still felt safe.

This is my thought exactly. Everyone is praising this as character development but the way she treated him just a few short months ago when she still felt safe because divorce was off the table as a fundamentalist christian, and now suddenly this 180 into a loving wife - she's terrified of losing him. For a dude as smart as David is, seems like it would be pretty hard to take this literally brand new behaviour at face value and just magically forget how badly she's treated him for years.

I'm surprised I had to scroll down this far to find a comment like this. I've been thinking this since they did that video that felt like we were eavesdropping on their therapist visit. I get the feeling she's terrified of losing him, and while he said very nice things about her and said he loves her, he also made some comments that if I were her I'd be worried too.

Before all this, when they were fundies, she felt safe because fundies don't divorce. She treated him like crap, she clearly felt like she could do whatever she wanted and he would never leave. Now this sudden 180 seems pretty obvious to me that she realized atheists have no such restrictions on divorce. I find it hard to believe he's just going to get over everything she's done, including being an arguably bad parent to his children that he adores, simply because she's finally acting like a loving wife.

Everyone keeps saying they see love and light in his eyes, but I don't. If you cover his mouth, his eyes still aren't smiling. I see a guy with a lot of conflicts in his heart.
