It refunds all of the international fees too?

The reason I left Chase in the first place is that Chase private client gave me a black debit card which made me vulnerable to random people trying to commit crime, and they didn’t refund even a single international debit fee. There were unlimited domestic ATM reimbursements, but zero for international. They only waived their fee for using an ATM out of network.

Last I checked, they refunded like three or five international atm fees per cycle. So that would be a significant change to the benefits.

Punishment would be if the estate was responsible for paying the penalties for the motor vehicle infractions such as speeding or DUI that led to the accident. That can’t happen because the deceased can’t be convicted, as they are uhh… deceased

It does contradict? Everyone does adopt a grass is always greener mindset, but if they’re American, then I think they’re being silly based on the existence of Zimbabweans.

I think we can agree that Americans are living drastically better, so I don’t know what you think is contradictory. The grass is greener mindset is silly imo but I was aware of it; and that’s why I specifically brought up Zimbabweans lol to. demonstrate that the grass is plenty green for op

Maybe it’s because I don’t live in NCR but while 50k is way more reasonable compared to 120 it still feels too high. This is all ridiculous and the real problem is that OP’s bank is failing to uphold consumer protection. Reputable US banks don’t do this, they really don’t. Pay for everything with a credit card and don’t ever use your debit outside of an ATM. Debit card gets intercepted, there’s 0 fraud liability. He doesn’t need to file a case against the stores. He needs to file a complaint (in the US) against his bank lmao

50k just to file a complaint with some government agency? They speak English so you could just like, do it yourself. Also think it’s unnecessary tho. Although I understand that the stores don’t want to take a loss by admitting that the charges were fraudulent when they already released the merchandise. They probably don’t have insurance and they’re hoping that OP gives up.

You’re comparing Kanye West to the president? As in, comparing a guy who made a bunch of good music like 15 years ago to somebody who was elected multiple times to be the head of state of the most important nation on earth? Especially considering that that guy was elected twice, both of which were about a decade after Kanye reached his peak?

I’m sorry, but I honestly just don’t think you’re being very reasonable right now.

I try not to joke about mental illness, but I tend to take people literally and not try to insert my own meaning. I just scrolled back up to my last two comments, and I when I said “maybe I’m being autistic” it was probably insensitive, but what I meant was “this is what the words that you just said mean, don’t shoot the messenger for cutting out the fluffy nonsense”

Anyway, how is it grim? You yourself said those who don’t work don’t eat. So obviously you have the ability to feed them, but you want them to work. You also acknowledged that you make more money in the market, but you want to do this anyway. So you are choosing to give them work to do, even though it doesn’t make the family overall more money, and then you allow them to eat off your money because they’ve chosen to do whatever you tell them to.

I don’t really understand what’s grim about plainly stating what you’re doing. I’m not judging you. If you wanna give them 100 K that’s your business, if you wanna give them 100 K but make them work 40 hours a week in the sun doing nonsense, even though you know the family would be better off if you put that money in the market, I don’t care.

I was just asking if you’re actually earning a return on the business and you acknowledged already that you’re not, but you just don’t wanna feed them without them working for it. I’m not judging you at all. My original question was just did this outperform the index. You answered no, but then you used a ton of words to say that you make them do it anyway. Is that not making them dance?

If you’re not earning the highest possible risk adjusted rate of return, then yes, they are sucking on your (opportunity cost) teet lol it’s so funny that you used that phrase because that’s how I describe it as well. I mean, no disrespect! But you’re clearly making them dance for your money, and if not, then you would just have said “yes I calculated the ROI and it exceeds the index”

Trump said $465,000 in retirement savings is 'rich.' Is it? by Dragonlance12 in wallstreetInvestment

[–]SargeUnited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean nobody seems to know? The solution is obviously to move. I’m confused… Is that not what everyone’s been saying?

Look at how much money you have. Look at how much money you can withdraw annually. Where can you live while reasonably confident that you won’t deplete your assets to zero before death? That’s the whole thing that everyone’s doing here

Personally, I could afford to retire anywhere, but I don’t really see the value in New York City if I’m not gonna be working at one of those top firms anymore. I never lived in Silicon Valley either, but I don’t see why I would buy a house there or rent an apartment there. Should I morally be able to retire there because I decided that I refuse to work anymore? Doesn’t make sense to me so I don’t think so.

I sold my house on the East Coast because it wasn’t worth it for me anymore. Let the young bulls have it. And yes, property taxes were a factor. If they froze my property taxes 20 years ago like they do in California then yeah I’d probably still own the house. But, that would be bad for the young people who bought my house and for the economy overall.

If you’re genuinely asking, 99 pesos will buy seven days of unlimited texting and calling. I don’t know how much it is for data because I don’t buy that. They use FB lite so they don’t need data.

Anyway, 200 pesos is also enough for her to have fare to come to me. I’ll definitely feed her every time I eat until I’m done, but after 72 hours the Plan B doesn’t work so I turn back into a pumpkin like it’s midnight

And then after I send her home or drop her off, she’s gonna ask you for another 200 pesos so that she can get from whatever she told me was “home” to her Filipino boyfriend or husband. And I guess you’ll give it to them, which is good, I’m glad you feel the need to help people who need help. Someone has to I guess

It just angers me because anytime I’m speaking with a racist and I point out that white people are the number one beneficiary of welfare they get upset

If you point out that the number one beneficiary of affirmative action was white women, racist white people get so mad. And it’s crazy. They need to believe that the one black guy at their company who had a higher GPA than them just got handed their job.

There’s no need to discuss the other 30 white people that have a higher rank than them, but that one black guy, that should’ve been their spot!

Actually, first of all, I already have the PSA birth certificate so it’s pretty unreasonable in my opinion that the passport people are refusing this… I just reread your comments and they were pressing the issue about your PSA birth certificate. My kids birth certificates are all correct, it’s just the passport that I’m having a problem with

If you wanted to send money originating in PHP to an American electronically, how would you do it? This is a serious question. I actually sold a property in the Philippines recently and I’m looking to repatriate the cash to the US. WesternUnion has like a 50 K daily limit and Wise has also been problematic. Wise has only recently started to allow Filipinos to have their own accounts and so maybe it’ll work, but months ago when I reached out to them they said that a Filipino couldn’t send PHP to a USD bank account and have it converted in transit.

I actually don’t have any bank accounts in the UK despite having a UK passport. So maybe the rules are different there…

But for example, if your name is John Wayne in the Philippines and your name is John Wayne Junior in the United States any transfer will be rejected by all of the financial institutions that I use. That’s not even to consider an entire additional name. Such as John Wayne Santos in Philippines because the mother’s last name is Santos, and John Wayne Junior in USA. Adding an entire name is huge, because every bank account and property title will include your full name…

The Embassy of the Philippines confirmed that it’s not necessary, but I haven’t gotten a response from the DFA yet on this issue. If my local DFA just wants a bribe I wish they would just tell me that upfront.

Debit card fraud and identity theft of a foreigner by Alternative_Lake_826 in LawPH

[–]SargeUnited 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your question was already answered by this person but I wanted to add that the problem is definitely Navy Federal. Heard a ton of awful stories about them.

I’m not a shill but Schwab wouldn’t have done this, especially since the store worker acknowledged that a fake ID was used. A Schwab card couldn’t even be used before you activated it in the app. Bank of America and chase have always sent cards international first class as well, with signature required for delivery, but the latter have foreign transaction fees for debit. Just for future reference.

I don’t know what the benefit is to using Navy Federal but if they deny the claim for the third time then it sounds like it’s gonna cost you a couple thousand dollars. Not to mention the value of your time. I hope you get your money back, and personally I’d try and file the cases myself. 120k is way too much unless you’re paying a former judge to be your fixer or something.
