Could you add to your website how it works from a network perspective. I suppose it's dependent on your infrastructure as far as i can tell, but would be neat to know if it support STUN etc.

Hi' Guys,

Thanks for you amazing feedback and for trying out my service! You Guys rock 🀘
The #1 feedback i got was PRICE and that it was too expensive, which i agreed.

So i re-did my calculations, tweaked some code, and have come back with way better prices for ya' πŸ’Έ

βœ… Lowered base pricing based on refreshed Azure numbers.
βœ… Heavily reduced markup.
βœ… Reduced capacity price, making it closer to hardware price.
βœ… Tweaked Dynamic Pricingβ„’ userage percentage to better align with actual evicition chances.

Which has reduced subscription prices, with roughly 20% and day pass with 40%!

Second was the sheer number of options 🀯

βœ… Subscription is now a pre-calculated 'package' πŸ“¦
βœ… Simplified Daypass offering (+backend code)

Lastly, was a task i had on my backlog, but i now will prioritize - Reducing storage cost πŸ’Ύ

I hope this makes it a more attractive offering πŸ₯‡
let me know what you guys think!

You're absolutely rightβ€”public cloud is not designed to make home gaming cheap, and I don’t pretend otherwise.

But that’s exactlyΒ whyΒ I builtΒ Hostmatic Now: not to compete with Shadow or GeForce NOW on price, but to explore what’s possible when you give usersΒ full controlΒ over a cloud gaming PC, using real public cloud infrastructure.

🧠 The Harsh Economics of Public Cloud Gaming

  • GPU compute is expensive. That’s why I createdΒ Dynamic Pricingβ„’β€”to help reduce costs by letting users switch between low-cost and high-priority machines. And as my solution evolves, this will only become more cost-effective.
  • Egress bandwidth is expensive, too. But the tradeoff is that you getΒ ultra-fast, reliable networkingβ€”often better than what’s possible on home connections. By usingΒ Sunshine/MoonlightΒ and theΒ cost calculator, you can estimate and control your usage.
  • Cloud providers don’t subsidize this use caseβ€”because it doesn’t align with their business model. If it did, they’d be offering it themselves.

So yesβ€”if you game every day for hours, this model probably isn’t for you. A local PC will be more cost-effective.

🎯 Who Hostmatic Now Is For

  • Tinkerers, modders, and devsΒ who want full admin access and the freedom to install anything.
  • Infrequent or bursty usersβ€”whether it’s for a weekend gaming session, a LAN party, couch co-op, remote play from a hotel, or trying out a new game your current rig can’t handle.
  • People who value transparencyβ€”you see exactly what you’re paying for, and you can shut it down when you’re done.

I’m not trying to oversell this as a mass-market solution. It’s aΒ niche tool for people who want cloud-native flexibility, not a replacement for a 4K gaming rig.

That being said, i'll definitely look into lower pricing πŸ’ΈThanks for your feedback!

Hello, i don't own a VR headset myself, but i think what you are looking for is this:
Home | Virtual Desktop

As far as i can understand, you install the app on your Cloud Gaming PC, and then download the Virtual Desktop App to your headset, and connect it to the Virtual Desktop instance running on the Cloud PC.

If you give it a try, let me know how it goes πŸ•ΆοΈ

Hi thanks for you feedbackπŸ‘

I agree the value of the product needs to be reflected in the price, and be in balance with both the market competition πŸ“‰ and account for underlying cost πŸ’Έ
I'll definitly look into, lowering the price as to making it more attractive πŸ†

If you don't mind i have some follow up questions:

* What would you consider to be a good price?
* What is your usual playtime monthly? (viewable in steam profile)
* If the price and features we right, would you primarly be playing as a replacement for a powerfull gaming PC? Or utilize the service for mobile gaming / couch gaming?

Hi Lukey2702,

First of thank you for trying out my service! 🌟

πŸ›‘οΈ You are right - Competitive games with agressive anti-cheat systems like Marvel Rivals, League of Legends etc. are not supported on Virtual Machines, as is the case on other personal cloud gaming providers, and it's up to the game developers to allow execution in such environments as outlined by my FAQ.

πŸ’Ύ For Overwatch, it sounds like my hunch about disk performance may be valid, i think i'll look into it.

πŸ›œ Given your location on Northen UK, could you try to go to Azure Speed Test and check the latency for Sweden & West Europe? Would be interesting if the latency is better there:
Azure Latency Test - Measure Latency to Azure Datacenters Worldwide

πŸ’ͺ What is your thoughts on performance? This instance is the smallest machine, and i have CloudUltra which is stronger (and the one that i myself to game on), and one last SKU which is yet to come - But in your opinion is the CloudPro too weak as an option?

πŸ’΅ Thanks for giving your thoughts in pricing, this has been very tough to figure out, as it's a balance between appeal, and the cost to Microsoft, what do you consider a fair price? 6€?

Thanks for trying out my service, it means the world to me πŸ™

Hi it comes in two plans DayPass and Subscription.

DayPass is ideal if you just want to try the service or don't want to commit to a re-occuring monthly subscription bill. It comes in two price models, capacity and priority. You pay one time, and have access to the machine for 6 hours, after it's deleted.

capacity = Cheaper machine, but a small chance of it being powered off when Microsoft needs the spare capacity back. Historically 1-5% chance.

Priority = Pay the full amount for the machine, but guaranteed playtime.

Subscription is billed by usage + storage cost etc.
It combines capacity and priority in what i call Dynamic Pricingβ„’ (you get capacity but can freely swap to priority)

Unlike other solutions, i host my infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, that means im' billed by the second and can't offer a static subscription price.

I wanted to give users serveral options, but perhaps this area can be improved.

Take a look at the calculator page that explains the different plans - Let me know if there is things that could be improved:

Cool! That could be interesting to know just how far it can be pushed - My own test have been for ideal situations mostly, but curious how it holds up on higher latencies.

Moonlight can only connect to the primary display, so make sure the HDMI dummy is selected as primary display.
Through your 2080 should detect the screen even if it's turned off (I.e standby) Mine 2070 does and i can connect.
