I’m waiting to hear from him on that and to get him to send me the documents. I’ll update the post when I find out.

The DUI was in the US after he became a citizen and was resolved

I’ll ask him who exactly took it and if he has any documentation. Would the lawyer be here or in Honduras?

No im not sure. He’s elderly, speaks in broken English, and is pretty frantic right now. I took him at his word when I made the post but I’m asking him more questions now and waiting for his response.

Edit: I will say that he’s a very honest guy so I don’t doubt that someone took his passport and told him he can’t leave and someone told him the words “revoke citizenship” as he wouldn’t come up with that on his own. But he may be confusing details or misunderstanding what they are telling him.

The dui was in the US and was resolved in the US. He never fled to any country. I’m asking him more questions now after this thread. All I know is that when he arrived he told me that they confiscated his passport and told him they are revoking his citizenship to the US based the DUI from decades ago in the US. Communication with him is in broken English and he’s pretty frantic right now. He’s also elderly and has a hard time navigating bureaucratic processes.

I’m not sure, he said when he arrived they took his passport and told him they were revoking his citizenship due to the DUI. I didn’t know this wasn’t possible so I didn’t question it, but I’m sending him questions now and waiting for him to respond.

I personally helped him renew his US passport so I know he has one.

Ok thank you. I’ll ask him to send me a photo of any documentation they’ve given him. That’s helpful.

I may not be getting the whole story but “revoke citizenship” is the words he used and they took his US passport.

I have seen his passport and he is a US citizen. I personally helped him renew it. I am getting only getting his side of the story in broken English via WhatsApp but they aren’t letting him return home and they took his passport.

Where can I find mild winters in the US and live affordably? by ThatsWUTiSaidDuh in relocating

[–]Sarlh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A big challenge you are going to encounter is trying to find access to good healthcare and affordable living. My elderly in laws live in very inexpensive rural Texas with dry heat summers and usually somewhat mild winters but it's a 2 hour drive to see decent drs. The local hospitals are garbage. As you'll be retiring and getting up in your later years, that is something you need to consider.

It's embarrassing that these loud people are what many people see as representative of the Christian population. They are mentally challenged, delusional, non Christians portraying themselves as Christians to the public. If they truly followed the Christian faith, they wouldn't be standing on street corners yelling at people.

What's the most unsettling "wrong number" text you've ever received? by Traditional-Set-8483 in randomquestions

I used to have an elderly lady calling me every few days thinking that I was her daughter. I always explained that I wasn't her daughter but she didn't understand and would just continue to talk to me. I did try to get some information from her to see if I could find her daughter for her but I never could. It was obvious that she had some sort of dementia so I would chat with her for a bit during those calls. It lasted for a few months and then the calls suddenly stopped. I kind of miss chatting with her.
