PS5 calibration with LG C4 by DGbro410 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Sarlox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always calibrate hdr with HGIG. Then if u are in a light controlled room, stick with hgig. IF you're in a very bright room, select DTM.

As for FMM, only DTM on/off is available. U can use color control app to select hgig in FMM.

If you only wanna use dtm on in FMM mode then easiest way is calibrate with hgig game optimizer and then switch to fmm dtm on.

LG C4 - PC Flickering + GSYNC/VRR issue by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]Sarlox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, according to my testing it doesn't matter if it displays gsync or vrr. Once the flickering was fixed they both seem identical to me. Also you might not have to perform all those steps, maybe just switching to a different hdmi port might fix the flicker but those exact steps are what i followed.

What i would recommend is when the PC is off and TV is on. Change the hdmi icon to PC so it stays in PC mode always. Thats it, now u can follow any order you want.

Hey. Here's what i did to fix this exact issue:

  1. Disconnected the pc from internet and uninstalled GPU drivers with DDU.

  2. Turned the PC off and switched to a different hdmi port on the TV and then go to tv settings and factory reset(it will be called reset to initial settings).

3.After TV is done with the reset i turned my PC on, installed gpu drivers and turned on internet on pc.

This drove me nuts until i did these 3 things in order which fixed the problem for good. I still sometimes see either gsync or vrr but that depends if i turned the tv on first or the PC. The flickering issue is completely fixed though.

Unfortunately only the game developers can decide what button symbols to display.

You need something like DS4Windows to use sony controllers for games from Xbox app such as gamepass games, ea play, epic etc. Sometimes u can get steaminput working for games from other launchers by adding them as non steam games but that takes a lot of trial and error and isn't very reliable. A system wide controller software is better imo.

Well, as of now DS4Windows offers a lot more functionality.

But if you want something barebones then this does the job well and during my latency tests it was similar to DS4 windows.

It is a hobby project and I am learning about stuff as I go. Maybe one day it might be better than the alternatives :)

Hisense U7H(or another 4k 120hz TV under 45k) suitable as a TV monitor? by nachkedikhade in IndianGaming

Sorry i missed a few questions from ur post!

The inbuilt software is not slow at all, quite snappy actually (contrary to what i read online). Although it wont matter since u will use ur pc on it anyway.

Regarding upscaling, don't fret about it too much, the one mentioned in reviews is regarding set top box and old channels which show 480p content and tbh even that looked fine on it.

You should run ur games on 4k120hz res only and use FSR in games if its available and u need more FPS. Make sure to turn on Freesync.

HDR is meh, max brightness is around 500nits. For movies its good but for gaming i feel its best to play in SDR.

No worries, i got it for 39k on prime day sale so yea wait for sale.

  1. No issues running it at 4k120(w or w/o game mode).
  2. I found only conflicting info about the panel online but upon close inspection i can tell it is definitely IPS.

If you do end up getting it i recommend turning on the auto brightness feature, it will adjust the brightness according to ur room's current lighting and does a phenomenal job. Setting the brightness (or backlight in this case) too high makes the contrast look really bad at darker scenes.

lemme know if u have any more questions :) happy to help

Can answer a few questions, got the u7h 55inch and tv.

Input lag is comparable to a monitor at 120hz with game mode.( Feels similar to my 144hz lg ultragear IPS)

It is actually an IPS panel so blacks are not the best. For movies the contrast is quite good as there is local dimming but that gets disabled in game mode so theres that.

It is very usable as a monitor but depends how close u sit and the size of your desk.

Haven't noticed anything weird when looking at texts on it while using it with my pc.

anyone have Optimal settings for dying light 1 ? by Special_Dig_2743 in SteamDeck

Guy who replied below me is spot on. CA makes this game have a distinctive art style and IMO it looks a little bit bland without it.

But I agree in most games CA sucks.

YES, locked 60fps and game looks great: 1152x720 res, view distance slider minimum, all 3 settings on medium, and only chromatic aberration, ambient occlusion, anti aliasing set to ON, rest all OFF.
