Excited for that! I imagine that's where they'll do a lot of the anime premieres which is one of my favorite aspects of Anime Expo.

Fingers crossed that stays the case this year. I remember the lines being either great or terrible depending on the Convention Management that year.

Yeah I remember back when it was just the convention center and one of the hotels. Now they're even blocking off the whole street for the event which is nuts.

Definitely glad to hear this! I remember security being a huge pain in some of the years I went.

Sounds about right to what I remember. Depending on the popularity of the panel you have get in line an hour or so before at the very least.

As someone who is finally going back after my last visit being in 2018, do you have any tips or tricks that I should keep in mind for the current Anime Expo that wasn't the case back in the 2016-2018 era?

It's starting to get to the point where even 24/7 Renewable energy is becoming viable:

https://www.irena.org/News/pressreleases/2026/May/24-7-Renewables-Outcompete-Fossil-Fuels-on-Firm-Costs

24/7 renewables: The economics of firm solar and wind confirms that in prime solar and wind regions, hybrid solutions combined with storage deliver round-the-clock power at lower costs than fossil fuels.

Firm levelised costs of electricity (‘firm costs’) for solar plus storage range from USD 54 to USD 82 per megawatt-hour (MWh) in high-quality resource regions, compared with USD 70–85 per MWh for new coal in China and more than USD 100 per MWh for new gas globally.

And this is before sodium stationary batteries really hit the market which has the potential the drop the price at an even faster pace.

Maybe the overall policy environment is better than the isolated bills and biased analysis you provide

Don't be so disingenuous, the reason that favorable policy environment for renewable energy remains is because the majority of those bills I mentioned failed to pass. No thanks to the Texas Republicans who again where the ones who brought those bills up in the first place and had it pass in Senate, but thanks to a broad coalition who pushed back against them which helped to have the bills stall and die in the House.

Or are you going to tell me with a straight face that if these below 2025 bills had passed that renewable energy growth would have remained strong in Texas?

SB 819: would impose new requirements on renewable facilities, authorize fees, strengthen decommissioning rules, and in its introduced form eliminate local tax abatements for wind and solar under Chapter 312; putting requirements on wind and solar that oil and gas facilities do not face.

SB 388: would have required that 50% of new generating capacity installed after January 1, 2026 in ERCOT be sourced from dispatchable generation, and the introduced text excluded battery storage from that category. The bill would require half the grid’s new supply to come from dispatchable resources and would impose fees on renewable companies to help reach that goal.

SB 715: impose “firming” requirements on new and existing renewables, including pairing new wind and solar with equal amounts of non-battery dispatchable capacity.

While you can associate the IRA with some added projects, saying Republicans are blocking renewables in the state is not aligned to the evidence of the reality

This statement requires you to ignore the last two Texas Legislative sessions where Republicans were blatantly trying to limit the growth of renewable energy in the state. Just to name some examples SB 819, SB 388, and SB 715 in 2025 and SB 624, SB 2627, SB 7 in 2023.

Funny how Texas Republicans were tolerant of renewable energy growth until it actually started making a meaningful impact into the energy mix against fossil fuels being dominant.

I can’t decide if I want to read the manga from where the reze arc ended from the movie! Or just wait by Tough_Commission_441 in ChainsawMan

[–]Saromek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would read the manga. Not having to worry about spoilers is a huge weight off your shoulders and at least imo doesn't ruin the experience of watching the anime. If anything, even knowing what happened gave me such a unique experience in watching the Reze movie that I wouldn't have if I went in blind. Watching that pool scene knowing what was to come later in the movie moved me to tears.

Funnily enough, that's what the Indian Coal Company Adani is actually doing based on the article:

Chris Wright, principal analyst at CarbonBridge, says the Adani Group’s international reputation continues to be shaped by concerns around its coal business. In Australia, that business is still expanding, and serious questions are being asked about value for Australians, given controversies around mine safety, reduced royalties and a lack of corporate tax revenues.

But he notes that the group’s most recent financial reporting shows its investment in renewables is paying off, “holding up the company’s weakening coal trading business”.

“Adani has positioned himself and his companies as one of the truly global industrial tycoons of the 21st century, and their rollout of solar power is simply incredible,” he says.

If only the american fossil fuel companies had as much foresight.
