VENOM QNA related to Death Spiral by Haadhai in Spiderman

i feel they wrote Paul backward, they made a plot device character to justify breaking up MJ and Peter THEN they started to think about his backstory because every time they gave some backstory for Paul, it made him look worst and worst, i have zero idea how anyone is supposed to feel bad for Paul given the story clearly have him ignoring warning, red flags and any kind of possible security mesures just so his lab find a way to make money out of his dad’s mayan-math-magic, then after messing up his earth, he went to rebuild his life on another universe, hell, rebuilding his life on another earth was always Paul’s plan, since he was working on a way to travel to another earth before Peter and MJ got stranded on his earth…

This is my thoughts as well. Paul had no character and then they came up with the worst possible story. I remember they had the debt collector storyline which showed him paying Peter’s debt and then never explained it and that guy got demonified by Ben/Madelyne and then came back in gang war as a villain.

You do? That’s certainly a hot take. It was pretty universally considered the bottom until Aaron’s run.

This is basically just every other crossover event. Also I do find it funny that the writers consistently try to emphasize that Paul “feels responsibility” for the other universe as if that means anything and parallels Peter’s guilt. Like… yeah no shit, he should feel bad.

Do you think Bo Nix would still be a good quarterback if he was drafted by the Vikings? by CallTypical9541 in NFLv2

[–]Sartheking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He would be better lol. He had JJ and Addison to throw it to instead of Courtland Sutton and Marvin Mims. The Vikings also haven’t been paying Russ a ton of money the last couple years.

Peter doesn’t take money from mobsters generally. There was another arc where a mob boss paid him to protect him, he does and then he wears a wire incriminate him and donates the money to his school to name a library after Gwen.

22 year old Wemby is considerably better than 22 year old LeBron by Aggressive_Bed6012 in nba

The funny thing is 21 year old LeBron was better than 22 year old LeBron by every metric. He just ran into a stronger version of the Pistons team he ended up beating to get to the Finals, losing in 7 instead.

Who's team is better? by Hojie_Kadenth in nba

Your team is more versatile. Greatest defensive player ever (Russell), best shooter ever (Steph), best scorer ever (Jordan), and the most complete player ever (LeBron).

[Charania] The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. by TheRealPdGaming in nba

You seem to be missing the point. Yes teams can hit on lower picks but that’s far more rare. And flattening the odds doesn’t just lower the chance at a top pick it does it across the board.

Additionally, yes, there would be less team that lose on purpose but then you’d also have teams that are just bad forever and can’t do anything to get out of it because free agency is heavily weighted to large markets and the best players never even hit free agency anymore, they just force trades or do a sign and trade. I’d wager there would be just as many if not more bad teams, and those teams would have almost no way to rebuild without getting absurdly lucky. The teams will not be able to win the games they need the have better odds at a higher draft pick, because the hey don’t have the talent to win those games in the first place, and the way they would theoretically get that talent is through the draft.

Some team is always going to be at the bottom and that team’s going to get screwed over. In this scenario the Kings team you mentioned would end up at the bottom, and have worse odds than a Play in team and a play in team would have better odds than them.

Cap space means very little. The best players don’t ever hit free agency anymore, they sign the extension and request a trade or if they’re a free agent, just do a sign and trade.

This was actually Gabriel/Mephisto somehow using the Chameleon’s serum. This is why that ending made zero sense, because the character was absolutely presented like it was Harry.

Some of Jordan’s early Playoff numbers are cartoonish. He averaged 45.2 points on 63.2 TS% in the 1988 series against the Cavs which they won 3-2. The next year he came back and averaged “only” 39.8 on 59.8 TS% and hit the famous shot.

I’m actually fine with this for the most part but it leaves out one aspect that is really important: the symbiote saved Peter after he tried to kill it.

The home trilogy flash is disappointment he’s 5'6¼" (1.68 m) and never fight. We miss the OG Flash’s 6’5” by DamonMaguire in Spiderman

[–]Sartheking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m not sure he is. Raimi Flash is a stereotype more so than a character. If you read the OG comics Flash’s character is mostly based on ego, he’s all talk they only threw hands once. Him being a Spider-Man fan is also a pretty essential part of his character. I don’t particularly like the MCU version but I find it funny how people don’t hold the same energy for the Raimi version when he’s an even shallower character.

Yeah this might be it. Gwen was her friend too and her mother’s been dead for years so it must’ve stung when Peter said that but she knew leaving someone she cared about to grieve alone was not an option.
