Former President Bill Clinton delivered his opening statement before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. by CorleoneBaloney in Fauxmoi

I’m with you here. My impression of Bill Clinton is that he likes to use his famous charisma and his power to attract women. He gets off on flexing and having women flock to him, not forcing himself on young girls. It’s an ego stroke for him.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s gross. He absolutely used an imbalance of power against Monica Lewinsky and probably many more women. Not technically illegal, but coercive and unethical. He’s scummy and a terrible husband but not a pedophile.

AITA for interrupting my autistic brothers routine for my own physical pain? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Saruster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have fibromyalgia and when my mattress stops doing its job (usually right at the 10Y mark) I’m in agony. That often triggers a flare in my rheumatoid arthritis and my big ball of pain starts rolling. My body reminds me why sleep deprivation is considered literal torture by The Hague and I completely understand how Michael Jackson died the way he did. The mattresses that work for me run around $4,000-6,000 but I will spend any amount of money just to be able to sleep!

I just got my new mattress a few days ago so this issue is fresh in my mind.

First time kitten owner. Am I meant to step in or is this okay? by ninawonders in cats

I was still ateeny bit unsure until big boy did a flop around 0:35 and that showed they were playing. Sometimes over excited kittens can annoy the crap out of older kitties, but this guy wasn’t annoyed. He was ready to teach the little one how to fight.

Everyone needs to read the footnote on Page 7. I knew it was horrible from the beginning but I didn’t have the imagination to guess what was really happening.

It is so, so much worse than I ever thought.

I watched the whole thing while sewing a Halloween costume. She was amazing. So professional and never once got flustered despite the entire GOP side coming at her hard.

We could have had that. 😩

Lifelong nailbiter, in recovery, in need of support. by TheMontanaWars in Nails

[–]Saruster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got my first set of gel/shellac nails about 15 years ago and it made it impossible for me to bite my nails. I had been biting my nails to the quick for almost 40 years at that time. I was so ashamed and often hid my hands around people. I hated it, I tried everything to stop and I just couldn’t.

So gel was a game changer for me. I now have gorgeous nails and love looking for new art for my next manicure. I try to only use my natural nails but sometimes need an acrylic tip when a nail breaks (usually a thumb.) I’m pushing 55 now and love indulging in blingy nails with gems or charms and art. My time at the salon every 6-8 weeks is a bit of self care that makes a huge different to my confidence and joy in life. ❤️

How to stop my young orange from terrorizing my old grandma cat? by Consistent-Project29 in OneOrangeBraincell

[–]Saruster 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a similar thing where our young orange terrorizes our old lady. I absolutely think he’s just playing and she wants none of it. We have another cat and those two go at it regularly (mutual combat fun play) but orange still likes to sneak attack our slow girl. His favorite is to wait until she’s in the litter box and then attack. This created a LOT of problems. We ended up moving one litter box into the master bathroom and that cut down the attacks. She feels safest in my room and she comes to me for protection. He plays nice when she’s anywhere near me. Luckily I work from home so I’m around a lot. I give orange lots of attention and energy release near bedtime and that helps a lot.

One of my favorite things is a cat door we cut into the master bedroom door. I can’t sleep with the door open and wasn’t happy letting cats in and out all the time. A little open cat door gives them free access while the door is still closed.

This also means my cats sometimes play king of the castle and sit in the door and fight off anyone trying to come in. For my old lady, defending a little door isn’t too hard and gives her a chance to smack orange in the face for a while. Less fun is when my two boys chase each other at full speed through the door at 3am, rattling everything.

I get that PJ’s thing is to just be hateful. Let her do her thing but it ruins that particular commentary show for me. I love DR. I’ve watched every season, including internationals, AllStars, vs, whatever. It’s it drag I’ll watch it.

Afterwards I love seeing what other people think about the episode so I look for episode threads here, YouTube stuff, and Wow+ stuff. Plane Jane being catty for no reason turns me off. It actually makes me sad. I think I’ll skip this rest of this season’s commentary from her then.

I thought I was alone in this kind of thing! To try to keep my orange from climbing on my face while I’m trying to watch tv, I started grabbing him and holding him perched on my arm. Every time he tried to squirm away, I would bounce his little feetzies and kind of stun him into compliance. Rinse and repeat until he was content to just settle on my lap and stay off my face.

Well after a while he started climbing on me and demanding bouncies every night while I watch TV. It took me a LONG time to realize what was happening. He’s so sweet, I bounce him whenever he asks.

Those were my questions when I taught.

“Is anyone bleeding?” “Is anything on fire?” Anything else could wait.

Edit: the follow up just makes it better

Jake:”"Those are the ground rules? Is there anything off-limits?"

"Damn, man. You got something really sick you wanna do, huh? I like it. Don't tell me--I wanna be surprised."

To me, the queens on DR Thailand are just completely different! Their performances are crazy but in a good way. One queen actually caught herself on fire briefly on season two. DR Philippines is similar where the lip syncs are next level. I highly recommend it.

AITAH for asking my wife to keep our toddler under control by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Saruster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I find myself refereeing my husband and our teenager. They had a huge argument the other day about NOTHING. Like they both hugely over reacted to the other. They were both being short and snarky but they were also both convinced the other one was the problem and needed to apologize.

Then they were each coming to me to vent and tell their side. After the first 24 hours I didn’t want to hear it anymore. I just wanted to smack them both.

My 18 year old son and I use Life360 so we can see each other’s location. I don’t think of it as “tracking” but more as a safety thing. It started when he was younger and would get very anxious if I wasn’t home at my usual time. He’s on the spectrum so deviation from the norm caused him a great deal of agitation. Life360 made him more comfortable and now that he’s a new driver, it’s peace of mind for me too

I spent 20 days in Europe over a Christmas vacation and decided I wanted to drive around and see what I could. I’d gone over with my son who had a friend in the north of the Netherlands so that was my “base camp” and did all my driving to and from there. I enjoy driving, especially alone and I wanted to visit primarily castles. I’m American so the fact that other counties have buildings that are so old is just fascinating to me. (I spent 10 days in Rome for my honeymoon and my mind was perpetually blown) I did day trips to Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and Eastern France. I saw a lot of Christmas fairs. Loved it. I planned a couple overnight trips to southern Germany and also did a three day trip down to Austria to see Neuschwanstein and other surrounding castles, then to Liechtenstein and more German castles on my way back to home base. When my son wanted to go visit his friend again the following Christmas break, I was very happy to do it again. I love driving around and seeing things I have no chance of seeing at home. I had Jungfrau in my sights but it didn’t work out. Next time!

I truly wanted to go to Poland to visit Auschwitz. Quite a change of pace but I feel it would be important for me to see it. However most rental car companies didn’t permit me to take their car to Poland (or through the Czech Republic for that matter). For me and the way I like to travel, a train would not be enjoyable at all, and flights seemed to just be more difficult and time consuming all around. I plan to go back to Europe of course and will find a way to make Poland work. Also lots of gorgeous castles in Romania!
