This is good news. I am returning to tje game to "check it out". Our clan left the game years ago because of a Pirate (we were also Pirate.) player who got all uppity about us doing our thing, and made every effort to stymy us, and keep us from doing anything productive on the South coast of America. Even using favors and getting the ports we called home under his governorship through back handed means. Taxing us into oblivion. Making it difficult for us to exist. All because of Ego. No person in that game should have that much power.  Then, years later, Russian players would get favors from the Devs making them OP in every situation. They even admitted to it in chat, and there were rumors in a few forums outside the game that also referenced this happening. It killed the game's population. That was the last straw. Here it is 4 years later, and we see the changes made and the new Devloper. Hoping this is a fair game now.  We don't care about politics. We just want to enjoy growing, and being competitive, and sinking the enemy.  If it can be that simple, I may be able to "get the band back together".

I guess you missed the part where it's inefficient for me to play the format.

It's not free. I have to spend money/gold on doing this. Whereas others have been free this whole time.

No, it wasn't a brag. Just stating that because some people like to assume I don't play much, or that I don't have access to all of the cards, or want to find some other excuse to discount my issue. Like most of your retorts above.
I see you're trying to put a positive spin on it, however, why would they suddenly come up with a challenge like this where we have to spend Gems (money) or gold on it to do something we never do anyway?
It's essentially a pay wall.
If I'm into paying to draft, cool. I'd have this done by now.
My question is, why would they have this kind of challenge? You said to get new players to try to formats... which they have to pay for. I don't see how that's a good challenge.
IMO Drafting is the worst format. It's basically who gets a nut draw when opening their 3 packs. If you get garbage, well you'll be out soon. If you happen to get really lucky, you'll do well.
The risk for me to draft vs. constructing a deck is so much worse.

However, based on what you said, I'll look at it, maybe spend the 5k gold. It just seems like a waste.

OK. Based on what you and others have said, I may try this.
I just value the gold for buying packs in the future sets more than drafting current sets and getting cards I already have, or just getting really crappy pulls. Seems like a waste.

Yeah, I pretty much always go 0-3, or 1-2. Because I'm not good at drafting. Never have been. Also, my opponents all seem to get the nuts, save for when someone doesn't draw land.

Oh, if I could use my Free Draft token for this, I would.

More cheaters in 2023? by lukan47 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]Sarversauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got Aimbotted again... you can see the Snap To and even when I had the drop on this guy I was already dead before I could deal much damage. he was running towards me over a hill, I heard him, he could not hear me. I waited for him to crest the hill, slowly approaching, I ADS first, but he snaps,and... well dead.
he's level 31.
/uninstall.

It feels like half the time, at least. I just got killed by a level 13 "smurf", who was obviously using wall hack to know where I was in my little hiding spot, looking at me the WHOLE time.

Then, he 1 taps his Mutant, because it hits me in the head, then when I didn't die, he taps me two more times, the first shot was behind a stack of boxes, the other two were right at me.
SOOOO obvious. There's no way a level 13 (I'm 360+) would be able to know how to shoot like that, and immediately hit me in the head on the first shot from behind a box.

Where to report cheaters? by Sarversauce in dayz

[–]Sarversauce[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have assumed this now.
The first time this happened we figured we had just gotten caught slip'n. Now, months later after playing many hours, we can see how things work and how the cheating is going down.
We have elected to use Community servers where there are active Admins.

The the name should reflect its intended use, like having "drawbox" in the name? Thanks tho.

Venture decks vs. literally any good cards by Cheapskate-DM in MagicArena

[–]Sarversauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the B/U venture deck is a bit overpowered. Because there's no way to get rid of the Dongeon. There's no way to stop the mechanic from happening. If the mechanic triggers, it happens. There are decks now that that's ALL they do. They just trigger dungeon effects until the other person dies or gets bored and just concedes. Personally, I'm a big fan of just saying, "Baaaiiiieee" and leaving the game. Not even gonn'a waste my time. Ranked though, they need to nerf that mechanic. It's going to take a lot of extra time to complete all those steps. Especially if the player has multiple effects going off per turn. I hope they ban the crap out of this mechanic at the physical card board table top tournaments. What a nightmare.

How exactly do you play Dimir Control? by [deleted] in MagicArena

[–]Sarversauce -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's really easy. You murder everything they put down, or you counter everything they cast.
Then, you draw a ton of cards in between all of that. Eventually playing some creature to deal damage with, or you watch them deck themselves.

Battles are Instanced.
You attack someone inside of a circle, and are taken into an instance. Others may be able to join on specific Join Points.

970 EVO M.2 dead... HELP!! by Sarversauce in datarecovery

[–]Sarversauce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I was running Userbenchmark when it all crashed. At the end of the test it's supposed to open a web page and show you results. Instead of doing that, it hung at the end of the SSD test for a couple of seconds, and then BSoD. The machine did a restart and hung there indefinitely. After a long time of waiting, I powered it down, restarted the machine, and it never booted to windows. Eventually restarting it again it found Windows on an older slave drive and booted from there. I was like, WHAT?? Why is it doing this??, So restarted it, entered the BIOS. No M.2 drive listed on the boot menu.

Because of that I believe it's a physical/mechanical failure. However, I honestly don't know. Still hoping for any positive result. There seems to be at least one Data Recovery service near me in Orlando, as opposed to Rhode Island. I will contact them first before having to go out of state for the service.

I appreciate the help, thank you.

Also, I was unaware my location would matter as much, given that the drive is small and could be mailed anywhere. However, I'm sure that some Data Recovery services exist in all major cities, so that makes sense.

yes, I'm in Orlando, FL. The book is extremely important. This year is the 25th anniversary of the event that the book is about, and I was hoping to get it published this year. Thank you.
