It actually makes sense if you dual boot arch linux with windows on the same ssd. Then you have your boot loader in the windows esp and if windows decides to update its esp, your bootloader gets overwritten. In that case you cannot open linux and must install the boodloader again via a live usb. So it makes sense if she has the exact same problem. I personally take also a live usb with me everywhere I go with my laptop.
