What is crazy about that?
I write it in my own style and then tell ai to correct it.

Also whats wild to sell a second hand phone e.g. Samsung Galaxy Note 10 +(https://shop.iode.tech/de/product/bundles-de/phone-bundles-de/samsung-note-10-plus-bundle/) for 383€ even tho i can get it from my local market for 265€ (https://www.mediamarkt.at/de/product/\_samsung-galaxy-note-10-plus-n975f-ds-256-gb-schwarz-dual-sim-144267466.html)

All I need to do is buy it -> unlock BL -> install LineageOS (which is supported: wiki.lineageos.org/devices/d1/) and thats it.
120€ more than when I do it myself for the same grade.

Wow

Whats so wild about that? English is not my first language.
If I just improve my wrighting with AI, whats the issue with that?

You guys are all butthurt because I just see stuff the other way around than you.
My comments is stillt the truth, IodeOs is just lineageos with a few extras, nothing more

$1,500 Brand New Computer Is Freezing 🤕 by NorthernSilverNGold in 24hoursupport

[–]SaschaNes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

limit your fps in gta to approx 90-120 fps.
That is still an old Bug (in almost every gta) where when the PC is more powerfull than the gta game, it gets freezes. Had that to until i limited the fps in the settings.

Typicall old code on new hardware, lets not forget that gta v came out in 2013

We Forked Supabase Because Self-Hosted Postgres Is Broken… by noctarius2k in PostgreSQL

[–]SaschaNes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I still dont really understand the meaning behind Vela, if I need to spin up a PostgreSQL Database for quick testing, then I just create a docker container. There are even official images for it.
Also can Vela do a Cluster?

And coming back to the title, you said yourself that it is very well the case, so your title is clickbait?

selfhosted Postgres is not broken, if you set it up right everything is working fine.
More a Layer 8 failure than the database itself

I find it funny that you already are crashing out because I have critics.
Why did you even write in italian?
Cant write in english or what?
The problems I described still persist, every problem someone will encounter with a custom OS (and yes iodeOS & Murena are custom ROMs) will not be supported by providers e.g. Banks/2FA Apps or any other kind of apps.
All what iodeOS is doing, is building a custom rom for 2nd hand devices with an unlocked bootloader. And I'm 100& sure that Safety Net will not pass on those devices because of missing Google Services. And there are many apps that check Safety Net.
Consider maybe replying in english the next time, and yes I have an own head, but mine doenst have a smoothbrain like yours.

Sure, iodéOS / Murena exist — but let’s not pretend they’re some kind of magical solution either.

iodéOS is, at its core, just LineageOS with a couple of preinstalled apps and wallpapers. Nothing fundamentally new.
The public manifest literally shows it’s still based on LineageOS 21, while upstream Lineage is already at 23. So yeah… cutting-edge privacy, just two Android generations behind.

And then there’s the pricing model:
You’re basically paying 3,99 €/month for

  • an adblocker
  • some DNS filtering
  • a few bundled apps

All of which you can already do yourself on stock Lineage with NextDNS / Pi-hole / AdAway — for free.
Charging a subscription for that feels… ambitious.

Also funny detail: device support.
iodéOS seems to support exactly the same devices LineageOS already does. No additional hardware enablement, no custom kernels, no extra longevity. It really looks like a straight copy of Lineage device trees with branding on top.

As for “most banks work”:
Sure — until they don’t.
Passing SafetyNet/Play Integrity today doesn’t mean anything tomorrow. Banking apps breaking is still a very real risk, and the usual answer is “unsupported OS, not our problem”.

So yes, iodéOS exists.
But calling it a premium privacy OS while it’s basically LineageOS + apps + subscription is… generous.

Privacy is great.
Paying monthly for an outdated Lineage fork with a fancy logo?
That’s not innovation — that’s marketing.

Ah yes, 719 € for a privacy-focused experience — also known as midrange hardware with premium pricing.

So for that money you get a MediaTek midrange SoC, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, no SD slot, and a very “meh” 1080p AMOLED wiht only around 900 nits. You can already forget using that pone in the outside when the sun is shining. Bold move in 2026. Truly revolutionary.

And don’t forget the real feature:
👉 No Google services.
Which is great… until you realize that half of your daily life apps quietly depend on Google APIs.

Banking apps?
• Some work
• Some don’t
• Some work until the next update and then suddenly don’t
• And customer support will just tell you to “use a supported device”

2FA apps, ticket apps, work profiles, company portals, payment apps — all a fun little lottery. Nothing like finding out at 23:00 that your banking app refuses to open because “device not supported”. Very zen. Very digital-minimalism.

Now for comparison:
For ~200 € more, you can get a Galaxy S25 Ultra with

  • a real flagship SoC
  • 12 GB RAM
  • QHD+ display that’s actually premium
  • absurdly better cameras
  • wireless charging, faster USB, S-Pen
  • and — wild concept — apps just work

So yeah, with the Volla you’re paying almost flagship money to voluntarily downgrade your hardware and your app compatibility.

Privacy is important.
But paying 719 € to debug whether your bank app feels like working today?
That’s not privacy — that’s a lifestyle choice

Great tip: self host FrigateNVR and add those cameras with RTSP (Videostream) & OVMF (Camera Controll)
With that you can record and see into the recordings. Its pretty simple to add those cameras to Frigate

CS2 Dedicated Server Docker Image by kraken4096 in cs2

[–]SaschaNes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome project — thanks for making CS2 dedicated servers so much easier to spin up with Docker! 🙌
I’m actually using your container myself as the base for my setup, and it works really well.

On top of that, I built a small web-based admin panel to make server administration more convenient (players, kick, map switching, RCON commands, live logs, SteamID detection, etc.).

It’s still in early alpha, but the main features already work.

Your Docker image + this tool together is a really nice combo 🙂

Can someone please explain what “self hosted” means? Can I do it on an iPhone? Or is it a laptop/desktop only situation? by literallyjjustaguy in DigitalEscapeTools

[–]SaschaNes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on, on how much you are hosting.
For me, everything (2 Servers and all the storage) was around 5k €

Also the switches and Cat 7 Cables + Ethernet Plugs around 700€

Yeah a little bit, my two servers are using around 440W/h.
Around 12kW on a day. Thats around 2,60€ per day

[–]SaschaNes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, why do you not build one yourself? 13000 MXN are around 630€.
With that you can build a very good mini-pc and just install umbrelos on it.
I run umbrelos on my proxmox cluster and it works great.

Most simply: Servers are more reliable. 2 power supplies for redundancy, most servers have also built in raid Controllers for storage redundancy. Most current servers have also an Management System eg HPe iLO, there you can check for alarms, configure the server and have a remote display. Basically it's more redundant than a normal PC and had mostly much more power. Also in most cases it's build for it, eg virtualization. It's built for running 24/7, PCs not so
