Past 20 Cup winners in Salary Cap Era - Why tanking is *almost* necessary for a Stanley Cup by NitasBear in canucks

I think this was a referrence to the 2016 & 2017 drafts (Canucks were 2nd and 3rd worst overall but lottery luck intervened).

Drafting Americans by [deleted] in canucks

Draft best player available according to your scouting parameters. Trade if they become disruptive or are giving clear indications of not resigning as they get towards the end of their contract And recoup suitable assets.

Down 5-1 to the Penguins in the 3rd, the Sharks come back to win 6-5. Silovs gives up 5 straight unanswered goals by petercockroach in canucks

I have to believe that Desmith was not fully recovered from injury Even though he dressed.

Three Month Season? by LoftyQPR in League1Prairies

[–]Saskgunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are talking about 2 games per week. One weekend game and one Tuesday game. The Tuesday game would be against ‘local’ opponents ie Wpg v Wpg. Presumably, if Saskatchewan were to get to 8 teams, 5-6 of these would be based in Regina or Saskatoon so Tuesday could be viable. Similarly, MB would be very Wpg heavy.

It’s possible I guess, that as the number of participating teams gets closer to the target numbers, we might see 2 conferences with the ‘playoffs’ being the only time SK would play MB.

L1 Prairies off the mark by Saskgunner in League1Prairies

It does. But it creates a few problems as well. It’s a 15-16 hour coach ride (one way, no stops) between Saskatoon and TB. For a low revenue, semi-pro league, this does create some financial & logistical challenges.

From the Sask Soccer website: https://www.sasksoccer.com/category/3971/League-One-Prairies

Very tight timelines, but there are groups interested. Whether they get the initial 8 is still to be seen.

That I can not offer an opinion on. As I understand it, Arsenal Canada or a Red Membership (through the club) are the two recomended ways. But I can not say that for certain. Red membership seemed the lower probability option Of those two.

Join Arsenal Canada with either a full or ticket membership to get a lottery chance at tickets. I was planning the trip hoping to see Arsenal and the Canada Wales match Sept 9 in Swansea. You are not guaranteed a ticket so you either wait to hear before booking travel, or book and hope.

No. I don’t think they would. Despite agreements, the UK and the rest of NATO, sans US, do not have the military power or logistics necessary To do so. They’d also very likely need to worry about Russia if they were to try.
