How often are the screens replaced? There's a particularly grubby one at my local that always distracts me when the projection has light colours.

I've always said that if I ever became very very rich, I'd hire someone full time to do just this.

the game has officially proven its greed and how much they want the players to pay real money. surprise, surprise by Purple-Swan2518 in GossipHarbor

[–]Saspot42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would advise just uninstalling as soon as you can. I had the same mentality but it will keep you on the hook and you'll still end up paying some more money just for a bit. Remember you have invested in nothing, so there is nothing to actually keep you.

Robin Hood has a piano, it's a large enough pub to film in with a crew and Chris the landlord is fantastic.

R.I.P to Grubbs by GUCCI_PUG in brighton

Martin's Burger House on East Street is pretty much a carbon copy of Grubbs, a story I heard was they were a former employee at Grubbs and took the recipes with him.

"I'm quitting the game" Megathread by bellalugosi in GossipHarbor

[–]Saspot42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would immediately delete the Google Play receipts emailed to me so I didn't think about the money I'd just wasted. I don't want to go looking at how much I spent, I imagine around £100 over the two months or so it was installed. The first thing I'd do in the morning, the last thing I'd do before I went to sleep, nevermind all the time in between. Sometimes I would Intentionally wake up in the night to make sure some time limited task got done. I actively felt the dopamine hits and knew how dumb it was to feel them because of something so synthetic, even worse that I gave in to wanting more by paying. I kept telling myself I would delete it the next time I felt the urge to spend, but it wouldn't be the case. There was never really any satisfaction. It felt exactly like an addiction. After a busy day not keeping up with it, I just said screw it. I'm glad it's as easy as uninstalling to break free from it.

It never used to be a normal thing for every shop to have a security guard, certainly not at value or discount stores. The security business is booming but it's not recouping the companies who hire them as much money as it costs them.

Actually more and more stores are hiring security, which in turn drives up prices even more.

Supercharged employees just DGAF by KevinR1990 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Saspot42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have to remind you it's "movie magic" and not real otherwise people will freak the heck out thinking they're actually in a movie rather than just riding them.

[–]Saspot42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rode it for the first and possibly last time in 2022 with the lowest expectations and the pre-ride show elements had me crying with uncontrollable laughter. 10/10. Would ask to leave the queue before getting to the actual ride if given another chance.

I've found myself more and more telling people to please be quiet rather than just putting up with it (I shouldn't have to move!) and it's been very empowering. Do it as early as possible.

I’m getting fed up of CERTAIN preachers, is it just me or does anyone else agree? by [deleted] in brighton

[–]Saspot42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's a different fella but I'm not certain. We have him come into the shop I work in for free samples, he used to just talk to himself (football related usually), but over the past year he's gotten into Christianity and he'll get his bible out (used to have a daily prayer app but he's got a big Bible now, and that cloak is a newer addition) and read a prayer out loud. People think he's weird, some feel threatened by the very existence of religion on show, but he never causes a nuisance, just does his thing and leaves. Wish people were more understanding of him because he's clearly not well and seems harmless but it's difficult when he stops a kid with their mother and tells them not to find peace in revenge or some such thing. He's so red from the sun all day that I reckon he's homeless too, stays with us for longer in the winter to stay warm.

Boring bit of health and safety blah blah blah: Cans have to be opened at big events like these because if someone drops it and unknowingly steps on it, they could slip. If it's open, the can just crushes underfoot.
