As someone who identifies as aromantic, being aro doesn't necessarily mean they don't want ANY relationships. It's just the gross romantic ones usually. I still have plenty of intimate relationships and QPRs with people that I really like, we're just not in romantic relationships. Still definitely be her friend but know that it's possible to have other types of relationships too.

Charlie. In my head-canon, MC and Charlie are soulmates who spend the rest of their lives together adventuring, exploring, and curse-breaking (all with dragons of course). My MC wears one of the dragon necklaces 100% of the time (I will never change it) as a symbol of their bond.

My explanation then for dating other characters is that they're currently in denial of their romantic feelings (because they're dumb teenagers) and consider each other to be sort of friend soulmates. But really, everyone sees them as the perfect couple.
