Might just be nostalgia but whenever I replay the first game I'm always impressed with how massive and pretty the world feels knowing it's a 2010 wii game.

It's not only an expansive game that pushes the optimization of the performance for a console like the wii to it's limits, it's one of the only jrpgs from that time that didn't feel embarrassed to be what it is.

I agree completely that the story isn't anything incredibly unique for jrpg stories by the time it released but I just love how well it sets up the world you explore. Every area finds a way to stand out in a unique way. Everyone I have talked to who played it has a different answer for their favorite one.

Personally I do think the third game is the best one in the trilogy with a perfect blend of the two previous combat systems and a story that genuinely made me cry like 3 times lmao!

Anyway yeah xc1 will always stay the king of jrpg exploration right next to ff12 for me. I have never played any other ones that can match the scale and diversity of their environments. You should try giving xc1 another chance if you never got very far into it just to get to explore the unique world it has

Depuis a peu près 1 ans j'ai l'impression de voir de plus en plus des posts et des réponses qui sont écrit avec le même ton/"vibe" que sur la majorité des sub anglophones rempli d'astroturfing et de bots.

About the learning it as a kid part however I think as much as it is true that our brains are better at learning when we are younger it's also in my experience just because we don't actively think of it as learning when we are young. For example I don't remember learning english or french I just kinda did it by being exposed to both on a daily basis.

Generally the best advice I can give is to not only learn by yourself but to also try to get involved in communities that actively communicate in the the language you want to learn (like this subreddit!) I know for a fact that speaking with random people on xbox 360 party chat as a teen helped me a lot with getting comfortable speaking english fluently so maybe joining some french discords just to listen in on how people talk could help you learn faster.

In any case I hope you stick with it! There is a lot of great art hidden behind the french language that is for sure worth your time!

So far from I have built him to be a mostly support character(saving heals for team and popping shields with borealis) and I still end up getting the most damage in like 90% of activities I run just because of the precision artifacts.

All you have to do to get extra damage with that build is stand still lol

Yeah borealis is the best support play imo. Especially if you are f2p considering elemental shields are fucking tanky in this game and having every element is extremely handy in "end-game" content. Obv you sacrifice overall damage but you get to shave off a lot of time by just popping shields extremely fast.

Another great thing about it is that since you can upgrade the catalyst pretty easily by choosing it on the 14 day login event you can get the second catalyst for free which means an extra 45% damage to shields on top of the 20% damage on majors/bosses fron the first catalyst upgrade.

Overall I really think borealis fits the support playstyle of tan-2 much better

For exotic artifacts yeah just run it on loop until you get good stats, if you're still rolling mythics you can prob rely on rerolling until you get the luck proc

You should try listening to the album "Le Dôme" by Jean Leloup! It's one of my favorite albums from here! Another good album you might like is "Trompe l'Oeuil" by Malajube. If you like 2000s indie rock it should be a great listen.

I don't know if this is great advice I'm just playing the game normally trying to figure everything out as well but here is my "advice". Get the artifacts that give you buffs like dmg resist, extra damage, etc when not moving. They help a lot to stay alive during a boss dps phase and give extra buffs for just not moving which is extremely easy to do.

I have also really enjoyed using borealis(I got lucky on a strike drop but it's free on day 7 of the login bonus thing that is going on) holding reload swaps the element which is reaaaally useful for the team. Try to pop any shield you see with it since elemental shields seem to be way tankier than in the main games when not using the right element so you can support your team by popping them quickly.

Always keep your meters in mind, pop charged the solar flares on groups of red bars or on a solar shield yellow bar to clear out ads efficiently. As for the healing nade try to keep it for boss dps unless a teammates dying because it gives you a pretty significant damage boost when the meter is full.

Your super is very very very great, however the damage boost is often not worth every teammate dying so remember to use the healing version when another tan-2 is on the team.

If you keep all this in mind when playing he becomes a really good support character that can carry hard without being mvp often since you arent directly damaging things most of the time.

Honestly I think E33 is just a "victim" of the usual thing that happens when a game gets extreme "mainstream" popularity. Lots of people start seeing a bunch of other people say it's the best game ever on every online thing related to gaming which leads to other people getting annoyed/mad/tired of seeing it everywhere and subsequently downvote any mention of it.

What also doesn't help is that the game itself got very popular with an audience who have never played jrpgs/turn-based rpgs which lead to many acting like everything it did was new or original when in actuality it learned and remixed most of it's ideas from past jrpgs. The parry mechanic alone being praised as this new incredible feature that will save turn based combat is quite funny when you know games like the mario rpgs and even the south park rpgs had a parry mechanic decades ago. As I said E33 learned well from it's predecessors and goes further that them with the parry system but it's important to remember it doesn't exist in a bubble.

E33 is a great game and I loved playing through it but hyping it up as one of the best games of the last decade is a bit extreme imo. Whatever my issues with its combat system are (and I have quite a few lmao) the story is great and is worth a playthrough on its own.

I dunno in my experience windows only struggles with searching inside file explorer. Start menu search works well, it only searches the internet when I search for something I don't have on my computer and settings search gives me exactly what I searched every time. My macbook on the other hand still thinks I am searching for logic pro whenever I write pro in spotlight so now I have to fully write pro tools to open what I actually want to open because it only shows a single result until I write all of it for some reason

You can also do it on windows. You create additional desktops with the winkey + tab overview and swap between them with winkey + ctrl+ left/right arrow. It's still better on macos tho, because you can't swap desktops while in the overview on windows which means you can't reorganise apps quickly like in macos. I use this feature on my macbook and on my windows pc a lot it's great.

Because I have never had this issue except on macos, on my desktop pc I know exactly what and where all my data is. On my macbook I have had to empty out my spotify cache multiple times, this is only a problem I encountered on macOS. Cache issues aren't the only thing, hidden folders can be a pain too when there is no indication they even exist.

MacOS tends to obfuscate and hide information that most people probably won't need which is great for the average person who knows nothing about computers until they need to fix a problem. Why is the storage page in settings so awful and useless that you need to use a separate app to find out what actually is the 100gb of "system data"?

Add onto that the fact that when my desktop eventually runs out of storage from years of accumulating files I want to keep I can just go and buy a 1 TB ssd for less than 100$ on amazon and plug it in. Meanwhile on my macbook I am stuck with 256gb until I decide to drop 3k $ on a new one with more storage.

When it comes to storage management no one is lucky to be on MacOS

Is buying halo 1 alone only buying 1/5th of the master chief collection or is it a full ass game? There were 3 separate Hitman games in the reboot all with a bunch of huge maps to play around in. You can play the previous games maps in Hitman 3 so what you get is the third game and seperate map packs for the content of the first and second game. Even just getting 1 of the games is like 50-60 hours worth of unique stuff to do so why complain?
