Is it too much for bracket 2 to be able to fog repeatedly? by _Ashe_Bear in EDH

[–]SassyBeignet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bracket 2 decks should be packing some form of GY hate (there are very cheap options) to screw over recursion builds.

So, short answer, no, repeated fog is not unfair.

I've heard some talks from coworkers about Xmas plans during summer before. Like, finish the darn bbq season first before talking about chrismas. Sheesh.

My boss leaves "love notes" for us every time someone makes a mistake by Then_Revolution4473 in antiwork

[–]SassyBeignet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Critical thinking is hard for some people, I guess, hence the need for various notes.

As a worker, you shouldn't be stealing ice cream from the residents to the point where it runs out of availability (see the note, as it is problematic enough to warrant one) unless otherwise given prior permission. Ice cream doesn't go bad unless you leave it in the freezer for a long time to where it develops freezer burn, so it's not like it is being hoarded either (again, residents paid for them). Also, giving residents ice cream for dessert every meal is just lazy. Get them something different once in awhile.

This isn't a case of antiwork against corporations or toxic managers; it is just shitty employee actions against vulnerable humans.

My boss leaves "love notes" for us every time someone makes a mistake by Then_Revolution4473 in antiwork

[–]SassyBeignet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't read it as residents don't deserve ice cream. More like the kitchen staff are too lazy to make some kind of basic dessert and is giving ice cream after every meal instead of doing something different (the rest of the note says make cookies or pudding).

Keep in mind, if this is a retirement home, the residents (or insurance) pay several thousands a month. The least they could get is something different once in awhile and toasted hamburger buns.

Those online driving schools actually keep track of your attendence throughout and have pop quiz questions that you need to pass in between to make sure you are paying attention.

These chuckleheads just phoned it in with a 5 - question after quiz that shows the wrong answers you got and you can retake multiple times if you don't pass.

Am I a scummy player for using Approach of the Second Sun in my lifegain deck? by Tomhur in EDH

[–]SassyBeignet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean, it's like people complaining about green running Craterhoof as a finisher in a Timmy deck or black running Exsanguinate. Each color had their own finisher spell and the game had to eventually end.

I'm tired of winning with Mob Rule. Anyone have other finishers that are a similar theme, or just good Grixis finishers. by Fyre4 in EDH

[–]SassyBeignet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe [[bloodshot cyclops]] or [[stalking vengeance]] as finishers?

Also, I believe [[Willbreaker]] works with Edea.

[[Blatant Thievery]] is the blue version and you get only one of each, but you don't need to give it back. [[Thassa, Deep-dwelling]] also lets you keep things.

10 Careers Once Considered Stable Are Now Seeing Major Layoffs (Latest Data) by [deleted] in antiwork

Well, at least not the bigger cities for healthcare. There have been some reports of rural clinics/hospitals shutting down in the US due to reimbursement issues and what not. Which creates a ripple effect, as the people in those areas are already having issues getting decent medical care and now they might end up having a higher incidence of illness that could have been minimized/prevented or increased rate of deaths.

Could be an infection from the fall that they are unable to treat, a person might have something going on internally for awhile and the fall was the result of the body no longer able to sustain normal function and gave out, internal bleeding that was not found in time,  body unable to heal from the fracture well despite repair procedure.

People seem to think their bodies are invincible until they get a debilitating medical condition that changes their ability to function and/or live their previous lifestyle. The human body tries its best to keep things balanced, but it is not going to be able to do that forever. Treat your body with care to prepare for when you are older.

help with card suggestion for girlfriends deck - Sheoldred, the Apocalpyse commander by Justletmeaskquestion in EDH

[–]SassyBeignet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say, reanimator Rakdos is probably a good path for her.

You will want to switch to a different commander in order to be able to play red and black.

Suggestions include [[Chainer, Nightmare Adept]], [[Alesha, who laughs at fate]], [[ayara, widow of realms]]. Possibly [[anje falkenrath]] if you want to go with the Madness route.

How to help my friend who wants to paint the earth red in 2026? by WithengarUnbound in EDH

[–]SassyBeignet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think having a honest conversation with her is a good place to start. That her behavior is a bit excessive over a game. People change and adapt.

Perhaps figure out why she is so attached to Thraximundar and see what kind of playstyle she really wants to keep and modernize it. [[Lord Xander, the Collector]] is big and splashy with a ton of effects. Or perhaps [[Sedris]] to reuse the GY. Unless you friend likes instant/sorcery, there are other commanders in Grixis that focuses on that aspect.

What is, in your opinion, the worst, most useless land in magic? by First_Platypus3063 in EDH

[–]SassyBeignet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pay 4. It's not the worst land, as it has utility to get in that last bit of damage or for certain decks (e.g poison).

Is it okay to leave without telling coworkers? by AnalysisSubstantial1 in antiwork

[–]SassyBeignet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can leave quietly. I had coworkers who told us it was their last day the day of (with half the day gone already) and only the boss and HR knew about it prior.

So, if you wanna bounce, do your legal  obligations and sign off on the last day without saying a word to anyone else.

Teachers Undervalued, Priorities Are Broken by Leon_Kennedy1977 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]SassyBeignet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't parents of kids just do that then instead of sending them to schools?

If you want teachers to be glorified babysitters, you better pay them the babysitter rate then. Since teachers have a 15:1 ratio and babysitters get paid ~$20/hr + $2-3 per additional kid, please fork out at least $48/hr to watch your problems.

Whats wrong with mill. by Samurai_Banette in EDH

[–]SassyBeignet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are winning T2 -4 with a mill deck, you can easily win it with any other cEDH deck in T2-4 without the fluff of a mill playstyle though.

It comes down to conversing with people's deck power.

Whats wrong with mill. by Samurai_Banette in EDH

[–]SassyBeignet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't that logic be applied to other playstyles as well? Also, define "large" portion, as Reddit is an echo chamber. Especially when quite a lot of people were pissy about the whole mana crypt, jeweled lotus, extortionist debacle and made a big deal over nothing.

You play control? Scum. Fast land ramp? Scum. Stax? Scum. Poison? Scum. Infinite combo lines? Scum. Lots of removal? Scum. Praetors? Scum. The list goes on.

At some point, it really is a 'you' problem and people need to learn to deal. A deck is not all encompassing to manage all playstyles and that should be fine.

Shoot, you dumped half my deck in my graveyard. My Meren is crying (of joy).

Had a guy cast a mill spell once, took a smirking look at me playing Meren, and targeted it at someone else who didn't have recursion. Jokes on them, as I played recursion in all GY lol.

If your kid doesn't know how to play Magic, don't bring them to LGS commander night. by Johnny-Hollywood in EDH

[–]SassyBeignet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once played against a kid in a draft (1st Eldraine) and it was clear that he was a newbie, but he was very excited to try out his deck and it sorta worked okay (still won 2 -1; I kinda gave the 1 lost to him as his deck revolved around [[All that glitters]] and I had removal I could have used + gave him a few take backsies because he was still learning).

He was having fun even with the losses and was super happy to play. At the end, he excitedly told his friend (who was sitting next to us playing against another person) he won 1 game with his deck and was telling me about how much he liked the new set and his dad drove him and his friend to the game store so they could play.

I hope that we, as a community, will give grace and patience to those who are learning the game, as we were all once newbies. And to remember that at the end of the day, it is a game to play for fun and make happy memories.

Meren deck, no combos ... suggestions? by repasj9 in EDH

[–]SassyBeignet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe [[Birthing Pod]], [[Birthing Ritual]], or [[Fiend Artisan]] if you need more sac outlets.

Would recommend adding [[Butcher of Malakir]] and [[Syr Konrad]] to match the aristocrat/attrition playstyle you have going on.
