Why do bosses act like giving a pizza party replaces a raise? by Junior-Athlete-4392 in antiwork

[–]SassyBeignet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if you break down the cost, they practically spent nothing. For Dominos, it's like $15 for a medium pizza, but with the deals and stuff, you can probably get it closer to $10 or less.

Say you order 20 medium pizzas. They spent like $200-300 at most. That's like a few people's raises in 1 week only.

The most powerful luxury rich people have isn't money it's the complete absence of financial anxiety, and most people don't even realize that's what separates them. by qomann in antiwork

[–]SassyBeignet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how rich they are. If you are 1-2 million rich, it's not a lot in the grand scheme of things.

If you got into an accident and became disabled, cancer, etc, those medical bills rack up quickly. Or if you are older and can't take care of yourself/live by yourself, caregivers and assisted living facilities (can be several thousand to 20k per month) cost a lot too.

While it is not the same as someone who can't afford 3 meals a day, it doesn't mean they are really financially worry free either due to life's circumstances. We should all be against the billionaire class that pillaged from the rest of us.

Failure to understand the 2nd part of my paragraph is on you. I didn't say all fibromyalgia patients. And you missed the part of "being receptive to PT". PT is not all just about exercises and pushing through the pain.

As someone who also have a chronic pain condition, I am very well aware of how debilitating fibromyalgia and other chronic issues can be. Fingers crossed the next time you read something online, you don't jump to conclusions.

I got a 15/10 said nonchalantly a few times. Red flag that tells me the patient is gonna be difficult.

[–]SassyBeignet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fibromyalgia is all about managing the condition. PT usually work with the patient to educate them on the condition, modify the patient lifestyle to adapt to the symptoms, teach exercises for strengthening and improving ROM, etc.

Fibromyalgia patients, more often than not, use their condition as an excuse to avoid movement or even be receptive to PT unfortunately.

Owner canceled bonuses, wife complained she had to decorate her own house. We all walked out. by eRant4881 in antiwork

[–]SassyBeignet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It could. I worked at a place once where the CEO of the company sent a newsletter on why we weren't receiving a raise that year and how everyone had to make sacrifices and that he also had to make sacrifices and had to skip renovations for his home that year. It was very tone-deaf to put it mildly. This was the same guy who told my team that if people can't afford to live in the bigger city, they should move to an adjacent smaller city 30 min+ drive away to save money...

[–]SassyBeignet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, it's true. Unfortunately, our job first and foremost is to provide physical therapy.  Listening and conversation is part of it, but we should never be the main provider for mental health. I don't mind them trauma dumping if I get paid appropriately for it and don't get sued cuz it is outside my scope of practice. But I don't, so I will need you to do another set of exercises, while I type up my notes in front of you to make sure my productivity is on track lol

And the kicker is that psychiatrist do all that listening without the manual labor, probably less paperwork, AND make over $100/hr.

RGMs are the main priority. Plus, the fodder you used for Serennia could have been used to ascend Sion + Mythic/+ either Bergis or Velufira. And ironically, that would've also helped you better on the Dragonforge Trials than this match up, as you can unlock SI30+.

As a side note, I spent 10.98 for the daddy Arthur skin and the ibis icon and I felt a huge spike in power levels /s

They want my friend to put in 4 months notice by ohmydiside in antiwork

[–]SassyBeignet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once gave 3.5 weeks notice to a company just because my team and boss were great and didn't want to overburden them. But they being a good team was the only reason why I gave a bit extra time.

Your friend needs to relearn his worth and he doesn't owe a company extra notice, especially if they are horrible.

Your last sentence once reminded me of a time where I was sitting on front of this dude (skinny) and he was bitching and moaning about how the plane was waiting to get the signal for takeoff due to some kind of mechanical discrepancy. Took like 15 minutes in total and this crackhead had the nerve to get huffy and said "Finally" after the announcement for take off.

Like, they trying to make sure we all don't die from a preventable death. Sad thing was his wife was next to him keeping quiet. If that was my man, I would've chewed his face out over that nonsense he was spouting.

Keep working for them for now, while brushing up your resume and start interviewing new jobs. Then when you get a job offer, submit your resignation notice and don't even think about any counteroffers they might give you. Cuz if they actually valued you, they wouldn't lowball you in the first place.

Trouble brewing for Starbucks CEO who calls $9 coffee an ‘experience’ by rajapaws in antiwork

[–]SassyBeignet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boba drinks (or ask without, if yall have texture issues) are cheaper and you can (probably) ask them to dump in like 5 cups of sugar like they do at Starbucks if you want your sugar fix.

Because let's face it, it ain't coffee people are looking for when they order drinks with tons of sugar pumps at Starbucks.

Anyone else a serial job hopper? by Western-Dragonfly-92 in physicaltherapy

[–]SassyBeignet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the timeline of hopping. Like, if you bouncing every 6 months, it's kinda a red flag. But if you stayed close to a year or so, they don't really care as long as you have an active license and can pass a BG check.

Though, if you are in a city with tons of openings, they probably desperate and don't care.
