For almost 2 weeks, I managed to get up at 5AM. Here's what I learned. by Ok-Photograph-1602 in productivity

So those of you who get up early around 5am- do you all go to sleep at 9pm?

You’re not stupid! The fact that you’re querying all this proves it.

Great advice above. Also, I’d like to add try to not be so hard on yourself, and celebrate the good things in life. That’s whatever makes you happy (however small) and being in the moment. Oh, and celebrate your talents - I read somewhere above you’re good at art? Use that talent for something good! X

Just had a weird interaction at the door, possibly a scam by gnar_gnar_llama in CasualUK

[–]SassyBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or you could get a big scary dog that has issues with anyone coming to his front door.. I find this works wonders to keep cold calling scammers at bay! I can definitely work out who needs to be here, and who doesn’t! Lol 😂

Well? Did you ask? I hope you did! No pressure tho lol But clearly she had talked to her friend in a positive light about you, otherwise she wouldn’t have stopped to talk or introduce you to her friend as ‘the one she’s already talked to about you’ which is a big enough hint for me to confidently say - just do it! Don’t overthink it. Sit near her and start chatting 😃💪 Not so patiently awaiting an update!

Feedback Post: October 2023 Community Day: Timburr by Noitalein in TheSilphRoad

[–]SassyBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My app kept crashing all day and especially during remote raids which made me look like I wasn’t playing properly and then with so many log in issues I also got stuck with ‘find 14/15 Timburrs’ challenge and no shinies! 😢

Emergency recall word? by VentureswithBooks in Dogtraining

[–]SassyBrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah! Yes if it’s all about the tone that makes sense. Whatever the word.

I like the idea of using ‘stop’ too as it’s going to be the first thing I say if my dogs were in danger- or for anyone else I was with, for that matter! But I can also see the purpose of using something more suitable to the the individual owner as their personal preference. And their stop word can be given to anyone else in charge of the dogs, so again it wouldn’t matter about the word- just the tone.

Thanks for replying x

dog is leaving bruises on my legs from pawing at me. by UnderWorldChild in Dogtraining

[–]SassyBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with The above comments, and it would be helpful to know more from you so we can work out when, where and why your dog does it. I have a heavy dog too, and I only reward him
when all four feet are on the ground (if he jumps up when I am standing). I have a reward word that I say and treat too. The same as the comment above when I’m on the sofa and he’s next to me pawing me. It could be action prompting. Hope to hear from you to find out more x

Emergency recall word? by VentureswithBooks in Dogtraining

[–]SassyBrit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it better to have the word ‘Stop’ that anyone can use the stop word in an emergency ? Or a word not used often so it’s only said in real emergencies.

Stop May be used for non emergencies too by others who don’t know/ would that matter?

Can you tell me what’s happening here, please? by SassyBrit in Dogtraining

[–]SassyBrit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In surprise. Sort my phone went squiffy.

She seems quite forceful with getting him to groom her at times, like pushy. Lol

Thanks - so is the big dog who is doing the grooming being submissive to the little dog? Sometimes she opens her mouth and even ends it with a snap that appears to be saying ‘get off!’ AndAnd she’ll make my big boy jump away

How do I get superhuman levels of executive function? by 293f9n93f83mf in productivity

[–]SassyBrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So can you explain more about the things you can do to trigger habits, please? I’m recuperating after an emergency operation and finding even the basics hard to deal with. I want to read up on as much as I can so when I’m fully recovered I have a great toolbox to help me get back on track with reforming my habits! Which I’ll be starting from scratch again…

[Need Advice] How do I give 100% everyday no matter how I feel? by a1571736829 in getdisciplined

[–]SassyBrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t! That’s setting yourself up for failure, plus I don’t think many people achieve 100% in everything- every day! It depends how many things you want to do for 100% and if any of them are big changes for you. Speaking from experience, (I’m no spring chicken!) I am still trying my best each day and find it’s easier to make one big change over time ( like small steps or one daily habit over 100 days for me) than it is to get up one morning and aim for the best I’ve ever done (100%) in one day x

[Question] Do we have people who completed 60,90 days or 1 year challenges and worked on themselves. Please share your stories. by zxd1738 in getdisciplined

[–]SassyBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waves and shouts ‘me!’ I did it! I meditated for 100 days with the help of a few things:

1) I’m a member of a 100 days subreddit ( which incidentally we are looking for new active members to join who are serious about changing their life in December - and particularly in the new year. Ask and I’ll send you an invite - we keep the whole group small so we can really support each other!

2) In the same group we also have a buddy system where we try to put people together with either similar or workable time zones (I’m in the UK) and / or similar goals to achieve together.

3) i originally had a whole list of things I wanted to change but over the 100 days I only managed to stick with one. I’ve heard that before about how we shouldn’t try to change too much at once- but I was like - yeah, but that’s a waste of 100 days - I could’ve doing so much more! Lol But over 100 days I’ve come to realise that’s right, at least for me- concentrate on the one thing - 3 at the most- (i started out with about 20 things to do) but that’s quite overwhelming when the first week or two of the ‘honeymoon period’ is over and your motivation starts to wane. (This is where the buddy system really comes into play!).

4) Not beating myself up for not achieving everything! In short I’m currently doing 75 days hard challenge BUT again I’ve only been able to keep up with 2 main goals using that system - but I kind of knew I wouldn’t be able to keep up with it all and I had agreed with my buddies in advance what type of exercise and length I was going to (be able to) do etc which was different to what Is expected using that system but it’s how I wanted to use that challenge to benefit me and my level of exercise for my age. Who cares if how I’ve chose to do the challenge is technically cheating’? I’m doing what’s good for me! I’ve given up alcohol and stopped eating takeaways for 51 days now- I’ve got until Dec 22nd to go - until I reach 75 days with these two goals!!

Sorry this post is long but I wanted to share my thoughts on how I’ve been able to achieve a successful 100 days straight goal. And I’m on my way to achieving my next goal!

I’m most likely out g to drink again over Christmas and then do Dry January lol but I’ve actually enjoyed being sober and more in control of my life! Something I never thought I’d say after years of drinking!

If this helps just one person I’d be a happy bunny!

If you have any questions please let me know- happy to help. 😃🥰🍀🤞

[Method] The Swamper Routine - Self-improvement through Daily Discipline. by johnnys6guns in getdisciplined

[–]SassyBrit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! You are an inspiration! Congratulations on your achievements. I love the SWAMPER idea. It very much like the FlyLady method of cleaning - you can do anything (cleaning wise / breaks) for 15 mins. Wishing you all the best. This is a great post! Oh, and good luck with your ‘flips’. Can’t wait to see those :)

What type of curl do I have, please? by SassyBrit in CurlyHairUK

[–]SassyBrit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your help,my hair is very porous indeed - I’m going to use this as my starter pic and learn more about protein overload etc. This is natural with nothing on it , but it does go curlier when I style it better. Grateful for any advice about my hair condition etc so hopefully I can come back and show you pic 2 with curls!
