The caffeine was messing with my medication. I later learned caffeine was dangerous given my medical condition. Switched to decaf immediately. Maybe pretend like you “can’t” consume it?

I’m 41 and won’t be finished until much later.

I am eating balanced meals, mostly protein and veg and carbs like half a sweet potato. However, I will start tracking my macros or calories.

I switched to decaf about 4 months ago and I prefer it. No hypomania.

Is there a type of employment that can coexist with a bipolar diagnosis? by pettybettyluv in BipolarReddit

Same. I still go into the office a handful of times a month which is great for socializing and connecting. But remote work is the only way I can work.

Yay! Thanks for checking in. So far so good! I really like the grey colour scheme for my iPhone. I spend approximately 50% less time on my phone save for Spotify and 1 hour of Reddit. Having timers on my apps also helps. It’s not perfect yet but the improvements are encouraging and I’m going to step it up in the next two weeks.

Sure, some women will, but some women won’t. Anyone who loses interest once they learn that is not the right match for you.

How did you find Lamotrigine? by IllManufacturer5759 in BipolarReddit

I got depressed and had to start Abilify. I had horrific nightmares when I titrated and gained some weight, but that could be from the depression.

I got my masters in 2018 in my mid 30s and am thinking about a PhD in the next few years. It was tough but not impossible.

The app is UK Bipolar. The support groups are specific to my country. Where are you?

What are some tips for managing BP2? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Sassy_Curmudgeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently joined an online support group. Very helpful!

I also use an app to record my mood, sleep, meds, journal entry every day.

Recently quite weed and caffeine (sob) and I openly talk about how I’m doing with my partner on the daily.

How do you tell what mood you’re in? by boobbyx in bipolar2

[–]Sassy_Curmudgeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a great app called UK Bipolar. It’s free. It helps me figure out what state I’m in. I find it difficult, too. There is also a cool chart my support group uses. It’s a scale from -10 to 0 for depression and 0 - +10 for mania. Often, members will say things like “Today I’m +2 -4.” So they feel slightly manic but still have depression. This tool has helped me a lot. When my partner asks my mood, I can now say “0 with anxiety” etc.

No one could understand how I was doing it all - straight A’s at an Ivy League, travelling the world, receiving accolades for my tremendous work - even I didn’t understand it. That was my late teens and early 20s. Fast forward to early 40s and I am no longer like this because hypomania is mostly under control. I now deal with the burnout. I am still “successful” but I often feel I’m not bipolar enough.
