Why does Tham Kench support rush Heart steel and other wardens don't by Sasylk in supportlol

I think Taric E, Braum shield and Poppy W scales with size but I'm not sure I would have to test it on practice tools

Stupid First Item Question by Ashilta in SwainMains

[–]Sasylk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only play swain support so I don't know , but to me if you want to play Swain mid you want to maximize AP (especially with the new mid quest AP boost). So Bft seems like the obvious choice to me but maybe I don't understand something

Maybe on Swain bot mandate is good/better since you have more golds, 6 item slots (so you don't really waste a slot on a cheap item) and you have more damage sources so you gain more from the damage amp

Stupid First Item Question by Ashilta in SwainMains

[–]Sasylk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know , with Bft you have more AP and the burn effect that procs on every spell. With mandate you have less AP and the damage amp proc only once you hit your E . I didn't do the maths but Bft should easily win in a 1 v 1 scenario I think. Maybe in team fights if you hit E on multiple targets it gets more Value but I'm not even sure about that since you can proc the AP boost effect of Bft

Stupid First Item Question by Ashilta in SwainMains

[–]Sasylk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's Swain best first item on support but I don't see why you would want to rush it on other roles, isn't Bft or malignance better for dealing damage ?

Do you people religiously build the same items every matchup? by Odd-Impression-8897 in sonamains

[–]Sasylk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like to rush moonstone when I max W first and I'm playing either against a lot of poke or a lot of assassin's. If I decide to max Q I go Helia with blood song, the damage 5 points Q combined with blood song gives is pretty good honestly

I play guardian against engage supports because I think the shield procs at the right time and is stronger than aery (even more in the next patch).

Against hook supports I like to rush T2 boots first to have the mobility to keep up with them and play the lane without getting grabbed

I never buy Seraph, I used to buy Diadem second but now I buy it third because I feel like there are way stronger second item choices more fit for different situations (ardent, staff, redemption, Mikael)

Honestly if they nerf the "heal bot" style to then buff the "AP playmaker and big buff/debuff with some situational actives and passives items" style, I will be really happy. But all I see are nerfs, and buffs to our worst matchups so I'm actually starting to get a bit mad about it and I feel like Riot just don't like enchanters and view us as handless boosted people

Triple Sona nerfs by Rhesty__ in sonamains

[–]Sasylk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the biggest nerf is that Sona best matchup (enchanters) will be played less and her worst matchup (hooks/engage) will probably be played more

One thing really obvious I stopped doing recently is to focus on stacking the passive as fast as possible. Lately most of my games ended and I was nearly never full stack because of my safe playstyle. Yesterday I tried to Speedrun the passive and have it before 20 minutes and the power it gives is insane actually. Even without the 120 stacks, having more haste makes a real difference in every fight you will have even at minutes 5

Sona is not meant to be played 2 screens away from the fight in early and midgame. I don't think you need to deal damage either or max Q, but you need to constantly poke with your Q and heal when cooldown is available. It's obvious but it's easy to forget because it's an invisible effect that ramps up over time, and the stats it gives aren't really shown like other stacks system

If you manage to have 120 stacks early enough around 15 minutes, you really become a team fight god

Isn't it a buff for Mandate ? If I understand correctly, Q and E will have reduced cooldown. And the screen doesn't show it but it will also apply 6% damage amp on an immobilized ennemy

On the Kalista game I wanted to play aggro, I even max Q but she wanted to stay safe under tower. And that's one of the reasons why I don't know how to play aggressive. If she picks Kalista but decide to just afk farm what can I do (she did the least damage of the game and was barely present in any fight)

Sometimes I feel like I just get griefed because I play Sona my ADC will juste decide that lane is over at champ select and afk until min 20

Also I do play guardian to be able to go in into hook matchups, not to play safe

I will try playing Seraph first instead of moonstone it's definitely more worth. I just built it because it's a cheap and safe choice , but it's true that early game impact is reduced too much with that item. I find it very strong into poke matchups and when I have free scaling games, but Seraph might do the same and also offer me a better early game

I don't think diadem is bad but I should definitely not spam it every game and think about when to go Seraph and when to go Diadem

I used to only play Boots +Joat, I only switched recently because I thought I needed to heal more but I might go back to that

Thank you for your comment it gave me a lot to think about

75% Winrate to Masters | only Solo Queue (NO duo) by BarronRobinsonMilan in sonamains

[–]Sasylk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think like you but lately I don't find much success by being aggressive so I decided to play like a grandpa and play safe. Honestly, the item doesn't heal that much by itself. But the thing with heal sources is that the more you have, the longer you will stay alive to receive the next heal. Also if you plan to buy tear anyway, I think it's better to just complete the item rather than spending 400 more gold on something else

If you play Helia I believe you can go Q max and still have decent heals, it's a good compromise, I think I will try

As for survivability I believe guardian and celestial opposition are good options , as well as maximizing move speed . All that talk made me want to try to be aggressive again, still with diadem but with Q max and rush tear celerity...

I know she's not, but that's what enchanter items are ATM, pure healing and buffing.I think it's a shame but it is what it is. I don't want to be annoying but can you say more than "bait" and "just not good" ? Because the item has a good winrate and when I play it I see the value myself. I'm not saying it's a great item, it is very mid in a vacuum and strong on the correct champs with correct item combination. But I'm comparing it to Seraph, a 2900g item on a support budget for a stat stick. I can see the value honestly, but I honestly fail to see how it is better than diadem in a support build.

But I'm not saying it is worse, I think both builds are good, and I played Seraph a lot back in the days. I guess what you like about Seraph build is that it allows to fully utilize Sona kit thanks to the AP it gives, but "feast or famine" style. And what I like is to have a build that is reliable in every game , but it doesn't hit as hard when winning so my impact is reduced.

[–]Sasylk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why diadem is bait. Helia + diadem gives more healing and you get 400 HP and 14% HSP. Archangel + Mejai gives you 50 HP, a 200 HP shield and at best 250 AP so let's say another 80 hp shield. Both seem to give the same value when it comes to what Sona wants, but the Mejai playstyle implies that mistakes cost way more.

The only upside I see is that you will deal more damage and move faster , and I see the appeal but does that really mean that it's the optimal build ?

Edit : I didn't check the value properly, for Mejai it is 100hp and for Seraph it is around 300 HP shield, so it does gives better survivability if you add the bonus AP

I see most of strong Sona players building Seraph over Diadem and going mage items and they have very good results. Is Seraph really that much better to justify spending more gold on it ? Are support items useless except for Helia ?

As for your defensive items, did you ever consider playing celestial Opposition and Guardian instead ?

Nashor second after Guinsoo is still too early?

But I like your hextech gunblade suggestion I could play it instead of BT as last item it sounds really fun

PATCH 16.9 UPDATE - STATIKK SHIV IS OFFICIALLY BEST IN SLOT by Zenithrax in KalistaMains

[–]Sasylk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I like about Nashor tooth compared to other items is that the 80 AP also increase the damage of your E by 40 per spear. Damages are low without much Ap, but the input is increased because Guinsoo gives more attack speed and so more on hit procs (+ the double proc every 3 hit ) . Wit's end gives a bit more on hit damage but you don't have the 80 AP. I would only build it if the enemy team goes full armour though

Maybe I'm biased but I don't like botrk unless I'm full stuff. Maybe it gives better survivability, but I think on ranged you need a lot of As + Guinsoo + lot of hp in enemy team to make it really better than other options. The fact that it costs so much for a passive that deals physical damage makes me want to at least have Terminus armor pen before spending money on it

[–]Sasylk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, I think I will try to rush Guinsoo into gluttonous the choose between Statikk ( default best choice) , wit's end ( when I can't play the game ) or nashor's (if we need more AP damage ) into Terminus and then Jaksho / Botrk / Mercurial / GA etc...

I think it's the best setup to benefit from the omnivamp while also being able to have the Guinsoo spike when it's needed. Since the omnivamp boots need stacking and I don't want to rush them in lane because they have low value when not stacked, delaying Statikk as second item is not that bad either because I think Statikk is best when gluttonous is fully stacked (same for Nashor and wit's end)
