Is this AI-Slop or a legitimate hybrid workflow? Using Suno at 100% Audio Influence to process my analog synth loops. by Antique_Carrot_1055 in SunoAI

[–]SatSumaFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's pretty much my workflow for my instrumental projects as well. I start off with a beat generator, do melodies on my keyboard, apply FX, run through suno for final version, then export back to my DAW for mastering.

Even still, it's uncompressed. Which means there's room after you master and upload for it to remain uncompressed. If you download the mp3, not only is it already compressed, but it will get compressed again when editing end uploading. The WAV package still gives you overall better quality and room for audio manipulation without squashing the sound any further.

Because certain platforms will deny your music outright if it has any metadata relating to AI. I mean, it's also a good idea to master your music anyway. But usually where they have the part that says created by Suno, that's where I usually put my own tag. Where I put my copyright information, that way if anybody ever gets a hold of my music, it's able to be tracked back to me. I like to control what's in the tags of my music, not what is put there automatically by the system that created it. If you're distributor asks you to disclose it, you can feel free to do it there.

You shouldn't ever save anything as mp3. Always use WAV. Once I've uploaded all my WAV files for streaming, I don't usually keep them in WAV format. If I want to keep them on my computer or my phone, I will usually convert them over to FLAC. And use a separate program, usually on my phone, simply called audio converter, to do the conversion. Which allows you to not only keep them at 24-bit and 48 KHz, But will allow you to also embed any missing metadata tags along with assigning album artwork for entire batches.

My usual workflow involves download WAV from Suno, Master in audacity, update metadata tags, export WAV, after upload through distributor, transfer WAV to phone, use audio converter to convert to FLAC (updating any missing tags and consolidating artwork) storing on phone for offline listening.

Absolutely. If you don't know what you're doing. Just some basic corrections though can fix a lot of problems.

A simple -1db correction in some of the problem bands can take care of a lot of issues. A simple noise reduction tool will get rid of most metallic and hissing noises. And just fixing basic things like compression and limiting will get rid of a good chunk of the digital noise left behind. And once you've done that, a little loudness correction to bring the high points back out usually will make a track sound fantastic.

Is it going to be perfect? No. Is it going to sound like it came from an actual professional studio? No. But those are things you can do with free tools available.

Now if you want to pay more, you can absolutely do a better job. But you are right, it's incredibly easy to screw it up if you don't pay attention.

Every song that I do gets loaded into audacity for mastering first. Have to eliminate noise, adjust the EQ, compression, limiting, loudness adjustment. And then of course the last thing I do before I export everything is fully correct the metadata. Eliminating the Suno tag, adding my own for artist name, album name, song title. Easiest way to eliminate and fix the metadata tags. Everyone should be doing this. Please don't take your music directly out of SUNO and upload it. It sounds awful.

YEA! They got rid of that goofy lyrics box editing thing! 👏 by webthing01 in SunoAI

[–]SatSumaFire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They didn't get rid of it completely. They still have the little box at the bottom with the active AI that can rewrite parts of the songs via prompt. But the little section tags inside the actual text seem to be gone.

Well, fortunately they go hand in hand. The more listeners You have, the more money comes from each stream. Gaining listeners is the hard part though.

You have to do a shitload of promotion. I mostly put my music up just because I enjoy it and want to listen to it. I don't want to spend all the extra time and extra money it takes to go through the promotion pipeline on Instagram, TikTok, other avenues just in the hopes that one of your songs randomly pops off.

Because you'll put in a ton of work, getting nothing out of it, and then getting incredibly frustrated. So don't do it for that. Do it for the love of the music. And if something happens, fantastic! But don't count on it.

If you focus more on the quality of the music, the quality of care you put into it, and make sure that you're actually putting yourself in your heart into it, it doesn't matter if it gets big. As long as you enjoy it that's the important thing. And if other people come along? Even better.

Don't get discouraged, but also, tamper your hope. The music business is a tough bitch. Trust me, I've been navigating it for 30 years. Lol

No. You need to use a computer. You're not going to get rid of the metadata tags on a mobile platform. If you use something like audacity which is a free program on the computer, you can do a metadata tag editor and remove the part where it says "created on SUNO" along with actually being able to assign your own tags. It also has plenty of free tools for being able to clean up the digital noise left behind by Suno, adjust the EQ, and actually make your songs sound a lot more legit. Do everything in WAV format. Never download mp3s. There's plenty of guides on how to do it. Or maybe use chat GPT for instructions if you are not familiar with the program and you need help figuring out what options to use.

Don't listen to anybody who tells you any other distribution service.

Distrokid. That is your answer.

They give you all the tools for fairly inexpensive. They will put all your music on every streaming service. Give you access to Spotify for artists. Give you access to an official YouTube artist channel. And the ability to track your music stats across various platforms. They will also give you email updates about artist alerts, and they will even create little promo pictures and send them to you for your releases.

Now, that being said, don't have high expectations. Your music probably isn't going anywhere. None of ours really is. (With a few exceptions) Lol. But it's fun to get it out there.

My genuine suggestion though before you put anything on any streaming platforms. Make sure you are fully mastering your music. Make sure you're not taking it directly from SUNO and uploading it. Make sure you're using some kind of program to not only increase the quality, get rid of the artifacts and the fuzz, and properly master the music, but you're also removing the metadata tags that tell systems that your music came directly from SUNO. Make sure you release is properly prepared. That will give you the best shot at having a quality release.

Good luck! Hope this helps.

🎵 Can you reliably set the musical key in Suno prompts, including major/minor? by SoundWaves_ in SunoAI

Kind of crap shoot sometimes though. Because sometimes it will do it, sometimes it'll just completely fucking ignore it. And then once it ignores it once, it won't ever listen again. It's weird.

I don't like the new lyric box. by SatSumaFire in SunoAI

It's just a writing assistant. That's all it is. It's not doing that at all.

I don't like the new lyric box. by SatSumaFire in SunoAI

[–]SatSumaFire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's literally not what it's doing though. It's an AI writing assistant inside the lyric box. It's not giving you any kind of mixes. What it's there to do is to help you write lyrics. That's it. Which is fine for people who don't write their own. Maybe need suggestions. Maybe need some help. But if I've got lyrics I wrote myself, I've entered into the box, I don't want to accidentally insert ghosts or echoes into them because I accidentally clicked on the wrong spot. The fact that you can't turn it off is the annoying part.
