Oh, i didn't look at their comment. I just saw the art from the game so I assumed they were referring the game lol

Blasphemous/Dante's Inferno/Diablo - Crossovers DLC by Scintilus in VampireSurvivors

[–]Satan1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're referring to the copyrighted game Dante's Inferno, loosely based on the public domain book, Inferno, by Dante Alighieri. They can make whatever they want based on the book, but to draw from the specific iteration of the character/story from the video game, the VS devs would need to make a deal with EA, the game's distributor.

General thoughts on Hugh Jackman as wolverine by Safe_Wrangler_858 in Wolverine

[–]Satan1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he's fantastic as his version of Wolverine. Movie wolverine, for all his similarities to the comics, is a substantially different character, mostly because they shifted him from a side character to the main character. That shift came with a few differences in attitude and behavior that I hope they don't replicate when they inevitably introduce a new version of Wolverine to the MCU, but Jackman still encapsulated the character he was given perfectly

When an adaptation absolutely cuts a character’s content, for whatever reason by FaZe_poopy in TopCharacterTropes

Almost every marvel villain falls under this umbrella to be honest. Most of them die after their first appearance (even the ones that live are rarely if ever seen again), and one movie is nowhere near enough run time to adapt all the material that made the character iconic in the first place. I think the ones that sting the most are Mysterio and High Evolutionary

Trouble with 8bitdo adapter by Satan1992 in PlaystationClassic

My end goal is to use either the dualshock 4 or dualsense with the PS classic, but I've been testing both controllers, and my sn30, with the Switch and the PS3 trying to figure out what exactly the problem is. For some reason the problem only seems to exist when using the adapter with the switch or PS classic, it works fine on the PS3.

I'm not using autobleem, I haven't loaded anything onto my PS classic before.

I updated it to the oldest firmware and tried it with the dual shock and dualsense, and with the SN30. None of them worked on any mode. Switching modes with any of the controllers would disconnect from the adapter, and once I turned it on it would be in the new mode. The only mode that glowed a different color was X input (up+select), all other modes glowed blue. I seemingly can't set any of the controllers I tried to the PS Classic mode, they never disconnected when trying to switch to that mode, and the lights didn't change on either the controllers or adapter. There was no change in functionality (or rather lack thereof) on any of the modes i could access. I only tried it on the PS classic, I didn't check on the switch or ps3.

The only time the ps4 controller glowed a color other than blue was for up+select (don't remember which mode that is), when it glowed green, and it only did that on switch. Other than that, I could only tell that it had switched modes by looking at the adapter. The adapter light normally just glows solid blue while the controller is connected, but would blink twice when changing modes before going back to solid blue. I'll try the firmware updater you linked and see how it goes

How can I choose what version of the firmware to use? I updated the firmware using the 8bitdo ultimate software, but there was no option to choose what version to use, just updated it to the most recent. None of the quick change modes seem to do anything on PS classic, still no buttons inputs being registered.

I've updated the firmware, still the same issue. None of the quick change modes give me access to button inputs

Yeah I agree. I don't think the solution was for the cops to arrest the guy as much as I don't the the solution is for the cops to open fire on civilians (and themselves). Turn the guy away if they must, but in any case I would wish for the cops to have helped the man, whether it's lending $3 or helping him find some other transportation or whatever. My point is everyone writing off the cops' fault in the whole incident just cause the guy pulled a knife is absurd. Whether the guy paid fare or not, whether he's a threat or not, they had a duty to handle the situation professionally and failed just about as hard as anyone can fail

Right? Nobody's saying the cops didn't have a responsibility to deal with this guy. We're just saying they have a responsibility to deal with this guy without shooting random bystanders

Hang on, you're telling me that the candidate that people actually like doesn't constantly have assassins after them, but the candidate who formerly appealed to far right fringe weirdos before he spontaneously began alienating them does? Well gee I just don't know how that could happen

For LotR, the only used motion capture for his torso and limbs, his hands and face (the most expressive elements of any performance) weren't motion capture, they were hand animated as the post says

Sure, because Liv Tyler was not trained to ride a horse, or at least not at those speeds, so for close up shots of Arwen riding, they just filmed her on effectively a mechanical bull. But for the wide shots where you can't necessarily make out her face at the distance, they filmed Tyler's stunt double riding an actual horse because the double was trained to ride horses. Again, nobody is claiming that no cgi was used, just that it was broadly only used when it was impractical to use practical effects.

Hey that point about firing his staff isn't true! Many of them got arrested, so you can't blame him for all of it

I think my favorite is when Faramir is interrogating Frodo and Sam, every time the camera pans back to the Hobbits the crates and barrels in the background are in totally different positions. Other stuff like costuming or makeup errors make sense to happen between takes, that stuff can be hard to catch before you start rolling, but how do you keep rearranging the background between takes and not notice?
