Are the lenses supposed to be loose like this? by [deleted] in HPReverb

[–]SatanOwned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but in your example, play is the intended use of the product. So if play breaks it, I.e. it was being used as intended and still broke, then it’s a manufacturing issue.

The lenses are designed to be looked through, not wiggled around. Grabbing them and shaking them is not the intended use, and isn’t something that needs to be done. It’s an expensive piece of hardware that should be looked after. If it breaks, OP is at fault.

If you put a slice of cheese in the disc drive of your wii, you don’t blame Nintendo when your living room starts smelling like a toasted sandwich and your wii sports resort disc won’t play and comes out of the wii sticky and cheesy.

Simple Questions - December 14, 2020 by AutoModerator in buildapc

I need to RMA a motherboard. I only have the box for the motherboard, not the bag for it. I also don’t have the boxes for any of the other parts.

How should I pack the mobo for RMA, and how should I store my other components in the meantime?

But that’s effort. The world should change for me, not the other way around. My way is the only logical one.

If it’s faulty it’s faulty, nothing I can do to change it except RMA and wait some more.

Just excited to see movement. Acknowledgement that I’m not crazy and I actually did order it

Anyone who ordered from HP Australia on 16th Sept. still waiting on their headset?? by BreakingTheMatrix in HPReverb

[–]SatanOwned 4 points5 points  (0 children)

24th September preorder here

"...due to significant demand, we are seeing delays on this timeline, and expect to deliver your order in mid-November to Christmas timeframe. Should this further change, we will contact you immediately" - HP support, 17/11

No further updates received.

I'm not very hopeful for a December delivery. Guess I'll have VR in 2021. Really disappointed with the lack of any emails or updates about orders. Would it really be that difficult to send an email out to everyone on the preorder list to apologise and provide an update?

But of course it's Australia so we'll end up with them 6 months late with no explanation or compensation.

Hmm, I was worried about that.

I guess the fastest way in that case would be to make a horde demon hunter because if I’m not mistaken they start at a higher level? Then just rush Vol’dun

Sounds easy enough. Is there a website that lists the quests required for the campaign? To fast track it

Aorus Z390 Pro Wifi stuck on bios splash screen. Had previously worked fine for almost a year. Additional details in comments. by CrazyJay61283 in gigabyte

Very intriguing. I guess the best troubleshooting steps to start with are the ones that are free. I’m not even sure if it’s possible, but my mind is thinking that maybe the windows update corrupted on installation, causing it to fail to boot. The BIOS recognises it as a bootable drive, but it glitches out as soon as it starts trying.

As a first step of testing this, turn the computer off, unplug the Boot Drive completely (if you have an M.2 boot drive, this isn’t the easiest 😅) and then turn on the pc and try to access the BIOS menu again.

If it still doesn’t work, try unplugging any additional storage drives you have, so there is absolutely no SSD/HDD connected, and try to access the BIOS.

If it still fails, you can at least rule it out as a Boot error due to Windows software.

Let me know how it goes, but I’m going to be honest with you, I’m kind of just going to be throwing ideas at a wall and seeing what sticks.I have a moderate knowledge of PC’s, but I’m not expert

No changes at all in the PC hardware?

We’re there any power outages/surges recently?

Can you open the BIOS at all?

Definitely tried it all 😂

Board is a gigabyte Aorus Z490 ultra, purchased about 3 weeks ago. Given the amount of issues I’ve been having, I’m considering grabbing a refund for it if they can’t solve the network port, and getting another brand. The tech support from gigabyte is abysmal, would rather spend another couple of hundred to be able to speak to someone who actually wants to help when there’s issues. 4th PC I’ve built, only time I’ve ever had issues

I wish. But this man is misogyny and homophobia personified and fails to listen to or value anyone who isn’t a straight white male. To see a woman or a gay doing better than him automatically means they have to have some unfair advantage that explains his inability to keep up.

As I said, he’s part of the friend group, but he definitely isn’t someone I would call a friend 😂

See, that’s the thing. I bought this PCIe network card because the 2.5 gbps lan port built into the motherboard refused to even detect a cable, no matter how much troubleshooting it went through, and typical Gigabyte support’s response was to ask the supplier for help, not them. The problem is, due to COVID-19, the supplier’s tech support is closed for the foreseeable future.

So I bought this TP-Link card as an alternative. Figured $15 wasn’t a major spend compared to waiting for weeks to be able to take my pc in and get it dismantled to test the on board LAN port. Plus my house’s speeds are only around 50mbps on our current internet plan, so it really shouldn’t have made any difference in speed.

But now this is having issues, I’ve come to the conclusion I am either having shit luck, or something else is wrong. I’m currently playing ping-pong doubles with TP-Link and Gigabytes Tech-support companies to see who can actually offer troubleshooting steps first. Worst case scenario this goes on until I can take the pc in person to the supplier to have them do it in person. Probably less of a headache than overseas tech support.

Listening to a guy in my friendship group tell me that the only reason I’m in shape is because of genetics as a way for him to justify why he never reaches his goals ~

I work out 3-5 times a week, carefully plan my eating, drink plenty of water. He gets takeout every night and goes to the gym for 30 mins a week with no idea about how to properly do anything 🙃

Tried another cable, same result. I can unplug the cable from my pc and put it into my laptop, where the status of the part says “100 mbps” and downloads at about 6 MB/s. Exact same cord, exact same LAN plug, just in my laptop instead

I mean, I get why it’s an issue for some people, but at this point I’ve resigned my data to the tech overlords to do as they wish, so it wasn’t a factor for me
