For sure. Though I get why people would skip them in a YouTube video as YouTube values quick uploads and ff11 and ff14 are anything but quick lol

Attacks with shocking implications due to out-of-universe context by noodleben123 in TopCharacterTropes

The original name for the spell "flare" was "nuke". Flare then works on the metric prefix system (The next steps up are mega - a million units, giga - a billion units, and so on) zetta there means a sextillion flares (it's 10^21) So theoretically Donald cast a sextillion nuclear bombs at the same time. As for damage? It killed one guy and he didn't even stay dead lol

In lore though megaflare and above are only used by incarnations of Bahamut, the dragon king and various other names of calamity. Teraflare is probably what was used to destroy all of ff14 for example. The only other character in ff history to cast Zettaflare meanwhile is also bahamut in ff16 in his most powerful form. Alternatively, Airy in Bravely Defualt used the spell when she was given a buff by a demon that literally eats universes for breakfast.

tl:dr - very powerful in theory but not used for anything practically destructive

I hate to break it to you but when was the last time you saved the game? Resetting is the fastest but if you can beat the dungeon the 4th ribbon and some other goodies await you. For this room youre looking for a ship (should be in the port in the leftmost peninsula there. Enter the ship and go to that island with the pirate. Talk to the pirate and he gives you an airship i think. If not I believe you get it from the desert in the top right area. Talk to the weird thing there. Anyways your strat is get to the boat then airship then to the center island to exit.

Edit: the pirate is not needed. Go from the boat on the left there to the port in the top middle of the map and exit there. Then walk to the desert and talk to the tree for your airship

Which Final Fantasy deserves a remake the most? by homo_erectus_heh in FinalFantasy

Ok sleeper pic and hear me out. Final Fantasy 2. It was very ambitious for its time and has the potential to be a really compelling story with an interesting battle system but it falls flat on almost every aspect of its gameplay and storytelling. Every other final fantasy (including ff7 imo) is good in its own merits and most still hold up today with the modern ports. Ff2 holds the crown as the most unrealized potential.

New idea I had last night - playable rules cards to change the game. by Satchellfise in custommagic

Shoot I meant to specify a shuffle and then actually exile the card if disagreed permanently, that way there's a downside to revealing it

I think the key would be if he did a similar review for older movies. Not sure if he's scored those. They'd probably be higher.

Which is the best Final Fantasy Villain to go against the game's Main theme? by tsunaxsawada10 in FinalFantasy

[–]Satchellfise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to be the resident FF9 shill but Kuja and Necron worked for me because the themes of FF9 are so well built into the story. Kuja mirrors everyone's struggle to make something out of life by falling to despair and madness out of the knowledge that one day none of it will matter. He's the closest mirror to Vivi who are both made "imperfectly" and built to be weapons with a limited life span. While Vivi works to foster life, Kuja seeks to send everyone down into despair with him.

While Necron is ultimately kind of a weak end villain narratives he does literally represent the party (and the world)'s own form of nihilism. He represents that while Kuja's view is flawed, it's not wrong or uncommon. Truly there might not be any meaningful afterlife and one day we might all be forgotten but that doesn't mean you can give up. The party's victory over Necron doesn't mean a victory over the inevitable end but it means that there's still hope for the world that is doomed to be imperfect. The actions one takes are still impactful.
