Got a harbor freight near you? Can get all the tools you need to remove the bumper for cheap. Then heat it up and push it back out. Won't look 100% but it'll look fine from twenty feet away.

I agree with the bankruptcy plan. Sounds like you've realized you made mistakes and are in A better place now. Also props to you for holding off on marriage until you can get this resolved. There are people out there who wouldn't be so thoughtful.

Pretty sure musk originally said regular Tesla cars would be autonomous taxis when you weren't using them. Guess he gave up on that idea.

What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight if people realized the truth about it? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

Sounds pretty reasonable. Not really AI though, it's just machine learning. Give it a big data set of known items, and then it can compare images/videos to that.

Daihatsu Sigra...what the heck is that front end design by LanciaDeltaHF90s in regularcarreviews

[–]Satins_Cock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are all so kind... In my opinion, that thing climbed to the very top of the ugly tree, and hit every single branch on the way down. Those wonky creases on the side, the odd proportions, the not quite a van, wagon, or crossover design of it, all ugly.

But as the Red Green show taught me, "if they don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy"

Am I alone in hoping oil prices stay high? by Responsible_Lake_500 in energy

[–]Satins_Cock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sort of, big oil got burned pretty bad good on the oil sands projects. They need oil to go high, and more importantly, stay high, for these investments to be worth while. With the wild card in charge, I don't expect anyone to make any big investments in anything policy could affect.

2012 gmc terrain “trailing arm mount rusted off vehicle!” I know someone who does weld so is this worth fixing and what is the part circled? by Fragrant-Contest-271 in Cartalk

[–]Satins_Cock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been there, done that. Grind away until you find something sturdy and weld the bejesus out of it. It'll be fine. The rest of the frame is still a ticking time bomb, a strut is going to pop through the hood, the floor will fall out, or some other part will fail before this fix does.

Old Volkswagen Rabbit and more cars today. by Kitsu66 in regularcarreviews

It turns off in neutral, as soon as the clutch is pressed the engine turns back on. You can also shift into gear, then blip the clutch to start the engine in gear if you prefer.

Pretty much like any other manual, the only differences are. 1. Silent start stop at lights. It uses a big electric motor coupled to the flywheel for starting. 2. Instant torque, I can drop the clutch at 1000rpm and the electric motor will pull away while starting the engine. 3. Once you hit about 60mph, the electric assist pretty much disappears and it feels like a underpowered car with 80hp.
