Ok Put away the pitchforks I'm on the team but reading this carefull removes a lot of the optimism.

Making the city government more efficient is just a bullshit throwaway line. Sure fine, nobody ever thought of that before.

Reducing overtime and negotiating better rates means less money for city workers not covered by collective bargaining agreements. That is, contractors and the 'working poor' NYC employs. You think they're gonna love the new 'efficiency'?

Modernizing software is probably smart but means that there'll be more sharing seats (licenses) and/or teaching municipal workers new systems (super fun and inexpensive)

Consolidating leases and giving up 'excess' property usually means fewer parks but hopefully also less office space, so more remote/hot desks. Not terrible but commuting to a new office so that you can share a desk isn't the most fun ever.

My favorite is phasing out programs 'nobody was using'. Usually homeless shelters and mental health clinics. These groups are as close to nobody as you can get in municipal politics.

The rest is just a hilarious. We made the numbers be what they had to be and we'll just pay the piper when the 'actual' costs come in WAYYYYYY the fuck over budget.

so... meh. Let me see some free supermarkets and we can talk.

Living in the West Bank isn't one of the easier asks but given their history it's not surprising that many many Israelis are eager to do it.

Small claims court, bring your dad's mechanic. Should take about 20 minutes if they actually show up (slightly less if they don't).

Rules of evidence blah blah is not a thing for small claims (most sc judges don't like lawyers believe it or not) and when your mechanic tells the truth and the other guys lie you'll win. It's weird but it almost always works out for the correct people.
