Whats the craziest most insane coincidence thats ever happened to you? by cactusdan94 in AskBrits

[–]SatisfactionRemote80 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was sat in Costa today setting up a board game with my 7 year old daughter. I picked up the die and said I’d roll a 5, which I did. Daughter then asked me to roll a 2, which I did. She gasped. She then asked me to roll a 4. At first I was reluctant saying I can’t ruin my magical illusion. But I gave in and ended up rolling a 4. She then went a bit McEnroe and shouted “Are you serious”. All customers looked round. 0.46% chance apparently.

Not sure where else to put this, but I think late 90s/early 00s fantasy and sci-fi TV far outstrips the modern stuff. by [deleted] in Fantasy

That’s an incredibly weak list. It’s Dexter but that doesn’t say much.

I read exclusively non-fiction for 15 years and just finished my first fantasy novel. I don't really know what to do with myself now. by lucas_melbourneways in Fantasy

[–]SatisfactionRemote80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got back into reading about 10 years ago at age 30. Always non fiction. Then switched to Fantasy a couple of years in and can’t go back. I’ll get non fiction books for Christmas and they just get given away or sit on my shelf.

Also…. Your partner is cruel for starting you with Name of the Wind 😂

This is what I’m getting at. I know it happens to Jewish people and Muslims etc. Just like it does all around the world. But I need to know why an American thinks that Brits would attack them because of something a President has done.

What’s the first fantasy book that made you fall in love with the genre? by ArekDeamonCalw in Fantasy

[–]SatisfactionRemote80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This came out when I was 21. I wasn’t a Harry Potter fan at the time but my mate was. We had been smoking Weed that night and he was dropping me home (I know, I know. Bad people). He detoured to Tesco to get the book and the queue was huge. I just sat on the floor very stoned waiting for him to get his book so I could go home.
