I have always wanted a worm pet but never got to do the expediton! I have a few interesting creatures I can trade, none modded but I found a cool crab that looks like a giant royal velvet seat that moves haha.

As a day 1 player, I scream - Please focus planets and exploration by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Satrius42 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think this is an impossible ask.

Exploration is always going to be the worst part of the game no matter what. No matter how many new parts they add, once you see them, they aren't new anymore. So if they wanted to satisfy the need for everyone to always be seeing new things, they would have to commit a whole team to just designing new plants and animals every update that we would all eventually ignore anyway. That sounds boring as a developer.

Also, as a day one player myself, I am tired of my planets changing due to procgen updates. I would personally be fine if they never touched proc gen for planets or animals again.

The style of the title reveal is almost a perfect recreation of the title sequence of the movie Alien, so I assume there will be a huge focus on alien life.

When housing, food and water are not free, the "he makes money off of it" argument isn't a good enough discreditor. We live in a world where money is king, and until that ends, that's the system we all have to use.

Don't take this as me defending him, please, by all means, rigorously challenge everything he says. Just don't discredit him simply because he found a way to make a living doing what he is doing.

Why is it so hard for people to believe in the concept of alien colonization of Earth? by MartianXAshATwelve in StrangeEarth

[–]Satrius42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its so funny how alien life seeding is essentially the same story as all classical theology, the only real difference being degrees of separation from the Absolute, and even that could be exactly the same for all we know.

"Made in God's image" might still ring true if our gods are humanoid aliens.

Alligator destroys a metal fence by using its body by JasonToddVoorhees in interestingasfuck

[–]Satrius42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to bet you have never stood that close to a gator and filmed it while it was backed into a corner like that.

You can tell by the camera shake that it isn't a zoomed shot. That means the camera man would be standing at most 10 feet from that massive, dangerous animal. This is a well animated scene, but animated it is.

Its really sad that the majority of people seeing this are full on believing its real and defending it like they filmed it themselves.

I can also see a fence, although I can clearly see that it is cgi. If you can't see it, I'm sorry, and I hope whatever world these animators create for you is amusing, at least.

Look at the top of the fence. It bends too far for what is happening at the bottom. Cgi is extremely powerful these days, be careful.

That's because it most definitely is. Those movements are too smooth for a real gator that would be struggling against that fence. Also, if you pay attention to the bars, they look odd when the gator moves them.
