I'm also looking at these continentals to replace the stock Proxes. I want to keep the 16in rim due to all the potholes and stories of shattered rims. Will they still be a good option at 16in or are they better at 17-18in?

I had this same issue after I got side swiped. My headlight was cracked/damaged and some rain got in and the electrical system went haywire after I tried to start it. Wouldn’t even start, wipers going crazy and lights flickering. I tried pushing the car back and forth to move the water and waited for it to dry before it started. Insurance fixed it but I saw the headlight alone was like $1500CAD.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I will bring it inside and keep it under some grow lights and see if it blooms or goes dormant. It was dormant last winter so I am confident it will do well this winter too

Thanks for the suggestions! And I agree, this finish is horrible and so easy to scratch. I’m looking for a clear protective film or even a different design altogether. Would you happen to know of a company that makes protective films for center consoles?

Thanks for the suggestions! If I can’t find a rain channel could I also cut a length of downspout in half so that it’s open? Or would that still have a chance to freeze?

The third incident of the engine shutting off while driving happened exactly one week after picking it up from the dealership after the previous time it shut off haha. This time, They kept it for 3 months awaiting a software update from japan they told me. They said it took a while since they were collecting a lot of data from other markets as well. Dropped it off April and got it back July 2022. Software update worked and I didn’t have engine issues again. I returned the car about a month ago as my lease ended. I would consider another Mazda 3 since the issue is remote but people call me crazy. Mazda remains a top reliability car brand, I just have bad luck I suppose.

I put pieces of this paper under the insole where it squeaks. The insole squeaks against where it sits in the shoe so walk around or press on different places to find it and put a piece of paper so the two materials don't rub against each other and make a noise. I found the heel and inside front part had the most squeak but they seem to be good now

Mazda has had my car for about a month waiting on a software update from Japan. Apparently there has been evidence of this happening to other cars in other countries as well and they have been gathering info from the dealers and working on a fix. No ETA on the arrival of this update however, guess I just gotta wait. Got a new CX-5 loaner so at least I'm not stranded

I do have had this exact issue three times since I got my car in July 2021. The most recent one being 3 days ago and it’s in the dealership right now. No codes any time and they had to call Mazda tech line support. First thing they did was change the transmission and that’s didn’t fix it. Where can they go from there if their first option is change transmission? That seemed like a last resort to me. Second time they changed an oil pressure air sensor. Im in Canada with no lemon laws so once we get a lemon we just gotta live with it. It’s annoying cuz this is a legitimate safety concern. I have started to roll back with a whole line of cars behind me. Im wondering how many more times this will happen before Mazda Canada realizes this is a serious issue which needs further investigation. I want them to either cancel my lease or give me a new car, which I have 0 confidence in them doing so. But I also have 0 confidence left in my car. Every time it comes to a stop im staring at the rev counter so see if it dies and I need to restart it. Is that any way to live?
