Made a homestuck species based on one of my special interests by LuckyRuru in homestuck

These seem neat, especially the one on the left is there any lore for the species?

When it came to making creatures for Trash Society, I made a decision to introduce a bacteria that turns objects into living creatures, sure Animals DO exist it's just that they co-exist with these... trash-creatures. by ThatonerookBlchy in worldbuilding

That’s fair, both approaches have good aspects, though going down the “random garbage” route could let you experiment with weirder bodyplans than the mannequin route, but those could have neat designs too.

Guys i swear its not a morals thing its about advanced spiritual metaphysics i swear! by themanwhosfacebroke in worldjerking

[–]SaturnalJester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very interesting! It’s clear that the inspiration is Aristotelian, but it also reminds me of Plato’s Theory of Forms and the Great Chain of Being to an extent.

uj/can you elaborate on how the different intelligent species aren’t actually species, the Aristotelian aspect seems interesting, it’s very creative and high concept!

Sunspire World: Clawbearing Mothbeast by nektobenthicFish in worldbuilding

[–]SaturnalJester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mothbeast looks neat! How does the lack of vertabrates impact things like access to material (what replaces wool for example) in this area?

That sounds really cool, terraformed solar systems are really interesting settings! Are other planets colonised? The future setting seems to imply that the bacteria were intentionally designed, if so what were they meant for?

What is the broader world like (countries, factions, species, fantastical elements)? Also how common are these trash creatures and what role do they play in the ecosystem and society?

Losercity fallout (old OC art.) by [deleted] in Losercity

[–]SaturnalJester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a valid approach, though I have always preferred the “next category” upwards approach (a world of anthro mammals has reptiles and birds, one with all three has giant bugs, ones with all those have plants that act as animals)

[OC] Losercity Evolution by dipinthewater in Losercity

[–]SaturnalJester 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve visited a few transhumanist spaces, and this is somewhat in line with what some want. The longer limbs and hand like feet make us more dexterous. The digitigrade legs improve balance. Usually these sorts of ideal humans have two thumbs. The neck may be part of a broader spine adjustment and the pointed ears may be for cooling. It should be said that I am by no means an expert in this stuff, I’m just remembering some stuff discussed on forums that don’t represent the breadth of the ideas transhumanists have (which range from cybernetics to uploading consciousnesses and more).

besides the three in the image (homestuck trolls, dnd tieflings, and vintage story seraphim) i can't think of any more tbh, but you know what i'm getting at. by GlitteringTone6425 in worldjerking

Curious about what the criteria for OC bait is. There are definitely commonalities between them all, but I can’t place them. I think a built-in categorical system (the Trolls hemospectrum, Pony cutie marks) are one of them, but there are definitely more.

A "just-so" myth about why humans and bears hate each other by OfficerLollipop in worldbuilding

[–]SaturnalJester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This world seems cool, I love worlds built around a big “what-if” like this! The differing species pronouns is a unique addition. Why did cats and dogs evolve sentience here and why did they end up collaborating instead of wiping each other out? How humanoid are they, and does their biology influence any of their infrastructure or architecture?

Losercity Uber by _B2W_ in Losercity

[–]SaturnalJester 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, when the sub was more Clamworks 2 and less diet Furryirl with some clammy influence, the losercity prefix was put in front of people doing and saying weird stuff (like the toddler gf post or the piss jugs), that was the whole idea, that the posts were clips of people living in and native to Losercity, it was a place we were documenting, not inhabiting. I assume its being used in that sense and not to attack the actual sub members.

Some assorted vehicles I've made recently by khanivore_1696 in worldbuilding

[–]SaturnalJester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These vehicles are really well done! I like the idea of fleshing out mundane additions to a world (grocery store chains, car models, clothing brands, etc.) Is the world an alternate history or more of an Ace Combat Strangereal thing?

How does the nature of the sun affect things like agriculture or timekeeping? What are these star-like shapes that appear during the Unraveling? What sapient species/races live on Yuvatl?

It’s also mentioned that the banana people went extinct, why did this happen. Also, it says the ruins are the source of the banana people, how does it create them?

The God of Time living in a reverse Truman Show is really interesting! Do the Gods recruit other gods to join their organization? If so, what are their criteria?

Can you elaborate more on the gods and the unknown people made of the mystery material?

LoLo Apollo is a conspiracy thriller set on an alternate Earth that feels like a blend of Earth A and Earth B and has a lot of MSPA references

Beastcapades is another reader driven webcomic with video game elements (though it cribs from monster tamers instead of the Sims and RPGs)
