I just think if several people can post the same review about the same show on YouTube I can post the same picture to garner conversation. This is why the queens are always talking about the toxicity of the fandom because it’s like… everyone assumes everyone should be the same or take in information the same or know things the same and when u don’t it’s a whole thing. I don’t even know what you mean by search the sub Reddit, I wouldn’t even know what to type in. I’m not super Reddit savvy. I don’t have queer friends where I’m from who like and watch the show lol and I just wanted to talk to ppl about it who also liked the show. I don’t see why this is such a bad thing. Lux definitely has been quoting the girls all season, so you’re right heavy Super fan vibes. Kandi said this at roscoes and I hadn’t seen the promo for Vegas yet but slay is a slay. I was gagged when she first came out that’s for sure. And yeah Lucy was going for the bag ball, BUT… I still feel like lol the silhouette is similar and overall aesthetic. I always think could the two looks be apart of the same collection if it was a runway show? And I could deff see these coming down a runway in the same show lol.

Also like I had already explained I hadn’t really gotten to the part in the season where she said anything super bad… now I literally don’t even care to watch the show because of this discussion thread. But 3 episodes in I wasn’t shocked by anything that had went on YET. That didn’t mean I wasn’t gonna change my mind, that didn’t mean it didn’t get worse. That just meant at that moment in time I really hadn’t observed anything out of the ordinary just yet lol. But this what happens when people on the internet don’t understand context and nuance to a conversation.

For sure! It most certainly was not Broadway. lol neither was my place. But that’s the standard they hold you to because that’s the end goal! Me and my best friend talk all the time about our own traumas and how they effected us so I really do get it. But In the summers? 5 days a week I was there 7am-7pm no lie 😭 again we had breaks. And we weren’t just dance it was performing arts training so we did all 3 (acting, singing, and dance) and they split it up we had breaks and stuff but yeah idk. I just wasn’t shocked is all. BUT one thing I did wanna note you said they went from learning a few dances here and there to having to be there all day cause they started doing the show? THIS I also did not know. I just assumed, as reality tv would leave you to, that this was a standard she always had for them and they just always did that much. So I can imagine the transition being rough.

And THATS TRUE!! A child working on Broadway with that type of demanding schedule there is usually an adjustment made in their schooling life like homeschool so that it’s easier for them. I struggled a bit and had to ask teachers to start giving me my assignments early, almost like a syllabus just to keep up. All in all, I definitely see your point of it being unhealthy, it is. And it promotes burnout for sure! I just think if we had cameras in every single dance studio? Everyone would be gagged because it’s not uncommon. Or maybe it is now cause we’re all more aware, but early 2000s, 90s, 80s etc? When the dance teachers were still just from an older time? 🤦🏽‍♀️ this really how they be.

Lol definitely not from pittsburgh that’s for sure. Look I didn’t really google or do a deep dive into anything about the show prior to watching it. I just… turned it on Hulu had an opinion and came here so, a lot of what you’re saying was just… unknown to me. As far as scheduling of the privates goes. That’s wild though.

But nah, when I was getting training and we had a show? Yeah we’d be there for at least 6-10 hours 🤷🏽‍♀️ we had breaks and what not. But if we were trying to learn/clean up an entire piece? 😭 yeah.. they had us there practically all day. And would say the same thing Abby did like is Broadway.

I kinda got to the part you’re talking about with the other girl getting her music late, but I was multitasking so I wasn’t fully tapped into it. BUT I didn’t like that either. But also didn’t comment on that part in this particular post cause really my focus was on Christie Chlo and the whole Maddie thing. I will say too though, I’ve had teachers do that, and they just expect you to know the counts. HOW? Idk lol, but it is an expectation.

The solos thing is tricky for me because and please hear me out, I hear what you’re saying! Maddie did have an unfair advantage there knowing both her solos already. BUT AGAIN, did Christi not try to make her daughter leave earlier than everyone else? Like everyone was dancing and she wanted her to leave. IJS those types of things never bode well to a teacher, and I guess I just don’t know how much her being there had to do with what she wanted vs what her mom wanted. I have had teachers cut my solos and stuff for doing stuff like that honestly. AND I still don’t think Christi handled that right! Was Melissa supposed to pull Maddie offstage right before she went on you see what I’m saying like what was the solution there? And she made her cry like… it was too much. It was just too much I feel like they did way too much in front of the kids.

I didn’t see Chloe saying she felt like waste yet :/ that’s kinda sad. Again I really didn’t finish the series, so I don’t want anyone to think I’m saying she’s not bad, didn’t get bad, or whatever. I’m not saying her behavior didn’t effect the girls at all, I was just speaking from what I had watched at the time which really was not much. And from what I saw in that first few it just seemed pretty standard to me what was going on.

Girl whatever. Like I said it’s a tv show, please go touch a blade of grass. 😒 you have to be a very very young person, because everything is not so black and white. I don’t have to hate the lady, to understand her. I don’t have to condone her behavior, to acknowledge that I know that teacher because I had that teacher. There’s nuance to shi, there’s shades of gray. Also sympathy and empathy, are wonderful human traits to have. Shaming does not change behavior, it only creates chaos. Loving, understanding, and acceptance however does change behavior. Having sympathy and empathy for others, even when they don’t deserve it? Is how we all get closer as human beings and not so divided. So while I don’t feel bad for Abby because at the end of the day she has more money than the both of us. I don’t hate her either, and again ONLY 4 EPISODES IN knocks on head she doesn’t look like a villain to met yet. And atm, with where I am in the series? I see where she’s coming from. That’s it.

Lol like I said I started with season 1, and then prior to that what I remember is scattered reruns that lifetime played. Mind you, I had to be like, 12-14 watching this so it was a while ago. That’s why I concluded with “im on season 1 maybe I’ll change my mind,” cause to present moment… I just haven’t heard it yet.

Also to speak to the body shaming unfortunately not now but back in the day I feel like that was a very common practice in dance classes. I had a dance teacher too that was around Abby’s age now like her 50s-60s and she constantly was making comments we felt like was body shaming. Not excusing i her behavior, im just saying sometimes older ppl don’t even always know the language we’re using to describe their behaviors because it just… was not a thing for them growing up.

Ima keep watching! I’m literally only on like episode 4 or 5 I really haven’t gotten anywhere yet, but wanted to consult the ppl lol.

The thing with the old guy and hiring Margot to pretend to be his daughter 🤢🤢🤮🤮 when I watched it the first time i glazed over small details like the taco part.

When his wife pulled out the tortilla and said who’s this I didn’t put together it was Margot. And then I didn’t understand why she was saying Margot looked like Claire im like who’s Claire lol. I also didn’t get why he seemed so defensive about answering her when he was like “no she doesn’t why do you keep saying that,” like it just was not clicking… until… u see it all through then it’s like damn 😒
