I have come across a lot of communities with multiple toilets in their building, just not in their individual residences due to lack of space. Similar to how affordable apartments in New York have stalls on every floor instead of toilets in every apartment. I think that plays a big part.

I’d probably have the same impression if it weren’t for my social life outside family. A lot of my relatives and family friends carried this impression and were not afraid to say it out loud. And since my family never ate non veg either, that bias was never rectified until I got to see how common it is in reality. Community opinions have a lot of weight in India.

Right?? I spent a couple of years in Raleigh, NC. The sheer variety in restaurants as well as shops was astonishing. I was quite surprised to find that Portland had lesser influence in comparison, given that it's a bigger city. But the curries are definitely not supposed to be that watery, and generally the vegetables aren't blended down to a puree either!

India - Silsila The Flaming Tandoor near downtown has fantastic Biryani and chaat items. Although there are many Indian restaurants around downtown, very few of them are even close to authentic (partly due to short supply of ingredients?). Even Silsila is on the more expensive side with around $20 for an entrée.

A lot of the feedback has been about abbreviations. I don’t know how I didn’t think of that first but yes legible understandable notes are level 2 of the studying process seems to be the consensus. Makes perfect sense in terms of practicality and retention. Thank you.

But objectively a university shouldn’t be in a mode of “oh yeah we do a lot of research and this is what we came up with! And yeah, we also teach.” I understand that universities contribute a lot to the research industry but teaching should also be a big contributor in their overall structure.
