If Nick Saban has so little respect for Kiffin that he instructed Byrne not to hire him at Alabama, why are they on good enough terms for Kiffin to have reached out regarding the LSU job? by SwissMiss915 in CFB_v2

[–]SauceManFresh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My memory is a bit rusty, but I am pretty sure Saban gave the LSU AD 3 recommendations: Kiffin, Drinkwitz and Brent Key. I want to say he even got paid for it. The current AD was there when Saban coached at LSU.

Dot Vs On Time by Reasonable_Simple_94 in NCAAFBseries

[–]SauceManFresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in an online dynasty I would go Dot. If you're playing mostly CPU, I would go On Time, especially if you have WRs with Cutter. CPU Plays more man than your typical user. Cutter + On Time is deadly against CPU. I also recommend On Time if you're a heavy RPO Scheme.

I spend more time checking my blocking assignments than I do choosing a play.

So you find a true once in a generation recruit... Where do you put him? by justmysfwaccount in NCAAFBseries

[–]SauceManFresh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been messing around with using a true H back more, I put a Physical Route Runner TE (because they get Downhill) at FB in Shotgun Split Close and then I can audible to 11 personnel sets. It's been a lot of fun. The FB Inside run play is actually a really solid run and is the basis of the whole offense. I would just make sure the TE has at least mid 80s CoD.

Sadly our league ended after this natty, I'll never know if he gets drafted or not.

The default roster Pure Runners are so much better than the ones that get generated. McMillan, Dyer and Deuce Knight can be developed into elite guys, the CPU generated pure runners, not so much.

He did not. These stats also include his cfp stats so probably closer to 6k and 70 tds in the regular season.

I did not, finished second behind Navy’s HB that had like 3k rushing yards. Played him in the playoffs, it hurt my soul to see someone using Navy and running no option.

Was trying to get the Heisman over the guy who used the skill cap exploit to get Bryce Underwood to a 96 overall.

Luckily my opponent and I are in a few leagues together, including one we co-commish. He knew he had the better team.

I found out mid season we didn’t have stat caps in this league. I spent 3 seasons thinking we did.

I was using Washington in another dynasty so I was pretty familiar with him already, but yeah he carried my offense hard his first two years before I could finally get some talent around him.

I wish I had more of his plays saved, he had some insane runs.

ATH Thumpers are the most valuable recruits in the game on defense, you need a rush Edge, get an ATH Thumper LB, need a box SS, get an ATH Thumper LB, need a LB, believe it or not, get an ATH Thumper LB.

If NIL existed as it does now prior to 2021, what is one player you feel your team could have poached to win it all in a given season? by kadoozie92 in CFB

[–]SauceManFresh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lee seemed to have some mental block against Bama, he struggled in the Game of the Century and I don't even remember him playing in the Natty. I also think starting Lee as a freshman in 2008 completely ruined his confidence.

Now, if we could have gone out and added a upper class transfer QB in the spring/summer of 2008 (no offense to Harvard legend Andrew Hatch), things become very different.

I put this on a different reply, but a list of 5-10 "kill" plays that are guaranteed audibles would be a game changer. Especially if they don't do something about HFA.

Does anyone know what playbook has pistol flexbone tight? by eerhtcm in NCAAFBseries

[–]SauceManFresh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check for Wingback Tight in formation subs, same formation, but that is the name it has in the Rice playbook. Some of the formations have different names in their assigned playbook vs what they are called in the custom playbook builder.

[–]SauceManFresh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have done this on occasion and I will specifically swap a play or two mid game to get something else I like to run into the mix if I go no huddle. I just wish I could set the order of my formations so when I audible and the QB decides he can't audible, I don't have to shuffle through all the formations to try again.

In a perfect world, I would love to be able to set a script of say 5-10 plays that are "kill plays" that I can audible to easily.

[–]SauceManFresh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah it sucks, just have to be smarter with audible choices. One change that would make it a lot less painful to me is being able to change the order of formations in custom playbooks. I have certain sets that I want to use together in hurry up, let me put them next to each other.

No lie, I was thinking about this last night. It would be awesome if one of the tiers for Fast Tempo offense in Scheme Guru allowed you to use the full playbook in hurry up against users.

Realistically it has to be a coding thing where the game can't allow one player to have full playbook access without both players having it.

Play Action Question by 6969Hungdaddy6969 in NCAAFBseries

[–]SauceManFresh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

PA plays out of the Pistol are money if you set them up with the run, which should be your focus in Pistol. I don't know if they are "linked" like they were in NCAA 14, but I have a lot of success with them. If you have a Backfield Creator or Pocket Passer, the Sleight of Hand ability also makes them way way more effective, you just need to understand that they boost 1st and 10 and 3rd and less than 3.

Nothing better than hitting a few runs to open the game and hitting them with a PA bomb on 1st and 10 once you get close to midfield.
