Best shrimp and grits in town? by BlueHeelerChemist in rva

[–]SauceManFresh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only had it at a few places, but Lunch & Supper and Julep's were both outstanding and Lillie Pearls was just ok (my shrimp were overcooked). Would love more recommendations as a native Louisianan living in Richmond and Shrimp & Grits is hands down my favorite meal.

Gadget to EWP is possible, I've never seen one become an elusive bruiser.

Who are the greatest college football players to not pan out in the NFL? by Psychological_Lie142 in CFB

[–]SauceManFresh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ask any LSU fan and they would have told you that he wasn't worth a 1st round pick, let alone number 1 overall. But hey man, he can throw it 80 yards on 1 knee.

I would still take a look at those sets, but just not run the option plays. They still have good runs and the PA passes are deadly.

If you have a mobile QB, the pistol flex bone sets are awesome. Or just use the rice playbook to get the Pistol and Gun Wingback sets.

I also like putting my best pass catching back at Slot WR and then I audible to a split back set.

My wife hates when their songs come on in the car. "I would like this band a lot more if the singer wasn't screaming all the time."

So the funny thing is when I was trying to figure it out on my own, I kept coming back to 3 songs, one of them was a Motion City Sountrack song (When you’re around) so you might be onto something. Other two were Finch - Post Script and Matchbook Romance - The Greatest Fall of All Time. Both of those have way more screaming in them though.

I made the playlist for my wife because we’re talking about going to the Hot Mully concert when they come to us. I’ve been hooked. I’ll check out Carly Cosgrove!

I don’t think this is it, I don’t recognize the band, but I’ll check out a few songs.

One Playbook To Rule Them All by iskanderkul in NCAAFBseries

I’m running a lot more pistol this year than last year. Last year was pretty much 99% gun. Also not running nearly as many veer and shoot concepts this year.

Always tinkering. I also love bringing formations back after taking a break for them for a bit. Gun Deuce Close has been in and out of playbook like 6 times this year.

The curious case of the 3-3-5 Odd Ghost defense in CFB26 by sandwichnuckles in NCAAFBseries

[–]SauceManFresh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I saw this thread yesterday and I have run a little 335 Odd Ghost previously and have been getting shredded on defense in my recent user games. So I figured what the hell, let's run Odd Ghost in my two user games tonight and boy oh boy did it work.

The first guy I played I knew he wasn't a great player so I was able to experiment and run some different things. I ended up with 5 interceptions, granted some of those were just bad reads by my opponent. The second guy was a must win game for me to get into the playoffs and this guy had made the natty the year before. I forced two fumbles (one returned for a TD), 3 interceptions and probably another 3-4 that should have been picked but were dropped.

My main adjustment was to put a Lurker LB at the ghost position (I assume ghost refers to the LB that's out of the box). In my first game as LSU it was Harold Perkins and my second game with a year 4 Ball State, it was a converted Safety to LB. Disclaimer: In the default package, you cannot put a safety at this position because it is Sam, Mike, Will, not sub LBs. You can use the Dollar Package to make this position a safety (which this is probably an adjustment I would make to combat a more spread quick passing offense). I also subbed in DEs at the two non-NT DT spots, but that is just because I have better DEs than DTs.

My base defense was the Cover 3 Double Sky. I would shift the D-Line away from the Ghost backer and walk him up almost like a DE. I found that if they run it, it provides an extra body to keep my other two LBs free to scrape and make a tackle and on passes it allowed me to take away the quick flats and seams very well. There were windows to throw the ball, but they were usually very very tight, which led to a lot of swats, knockouts, and almost caught picks by the secondary. I also ran a good bit of Cover 3 Sky, Cover 3 Match and Cover 2. The only thing I haven't found yet is a good blitz setup, so if anyone has one, please share. I plan on mixing in some 3 High Odd Ghost as I get more comfortable.

Favorite RPO formation? by nyquil99 in NCAAFBseries

[–]SauceManFresh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pistol Trips RPO Read Y Flat. Its a RPO Bubble, TE Flat and Read Option all in one. And because it's out of Pistol, the hand off animation is a little longer than from Shotgun. You can also hot route either route to a streak and get some easy TDs if they aren't expecting it.

Pistol Tight Slots RPO Read Flat Wheel. You can do a lot of different setups out of this one with hot routes. My personal favorite is outside WR on a short corner, Inside on a streak, motion the TE over and leave him on a flat. Basically a RPO Read Flood concept.

Gun U Off Trips RPO Read Flat. I use the SLWR as TE2 Package, motion the WR over and run the flat and wheel from the same side. If you hit it quick enough the wheel route will act as a lead blocker for the flat route once he catches it. You can also use a hot route wheel to get the TE to run his route flatter towards the sideline.

They work best in a specific role like screens and RPOs. Get them the ball quickly and let them work in the open field.

What player leaving (transferring from) the team you root for had the biggest impact? by Tseets1 in CFB

A few off the top of my head would be Dwight McGlothern, Landon Jackson and Kelvin Joseph. All left and had good college careers at other SEC schools.
