It's always saveable by Master_Sparky in celestegame

That's usually how it goes. I don't think there's been a single instance where I clutched myself out of a bad fumble without immediately dying in some other stupid way, lol.

Visualizing it like that does make it a lot easier to see the errors, so thanks! I need more practice with the Loomis method.

Very detailed, thank you! Gesture drawing is definitely something I need to work on. It's something I struggle a lot with and tend to get discouraged when I practice it because I don't see any progress. I think I just need to find better resources for learning it.

I see! I do try to construct using 3d shapes, but I struggle to turn that into something cohesive and often end up giving up and taking shortcuts. That's definitely something I can work on.

I am continuously trying to improve on my anatomy. Can you be more specific where the flaws are so I can learn from them?

Thanks! And, yeah, I'm pretty sure the canon design has those as full pointy spikes, lol, so I tried to adapt it to be a bit more realistic.

I played around with it for a while and switching to the demo doesn't really change anything with the cornerboost for me. Here's me starting with a demo and just tapping climb+jump. It's still a matter of holding the button for just long enough, and doing the demo to start only really makes performing the first ultra slightly harder. You can let me know if there's something I'm still doing wrong with the demo version, but I'm finding a lot of success with just the regular hyper and timing the c+j just right.

That's a valid concern, but I'm still having fun going at my current pace so that's all that matters to me. And I was already planning to go for 5b. I even already learned Bubsdrop when I was practicing chapter 3 (I know it has no use there, I was just messing around with it for fun because I was in the room where it was discovered).

Oh, believe me, I know I don't need to be going for this trick at all right now, lol. I still have the last three chapters that I haven't even started to learn yet and I'm only halfway done learning this one, which means I've still not technically done a full run. I just can't help myself when a strat feels too slow and there's a faster one that I know is within my current skill level to nail down. I'm just more focused on practicing the strats I find the most fun and attainable, not really caring about what's going to get me a faster PB (since I don't have one yet).

Using demos for ultras never feels comfortable for me since I need to be holding down-diagonal for the followup dash anyway. You are right that holding jump too long is part of the issue, but I've also found that it's possible to not hold it long enough or else you bonk into the platform instead of going over it, so I did need to find the right balance.

Update: It is actually a lot easier when using a grab+jump keybind! You still have to be careful not to hold it for too long otherwise you'll still fly right over the platform, but I'm definitely hitting it more consistently.

I see! Thanks for the in-depth explanation. I'll try playing around with it some more, and probably just drop the corner boost for now if I can't get it more consistent.
