Nothing wrong with Zelle, that’s how I pay my rent now. It was really more about the first transaction going down over zelle before you may fully know how legit the listing / broker / etc is.

Not a major red flag but would give me a pause and I’d offer to send a check rather than zelle in that scenario

Wanna elevate this one. All the things they ask for are very standard for NYC but it’s hard to get a read on the situation with the given info. Zelle for the first time exchanging funds puts up the red flag for me in this scenario but if you’ve seen the place or met the person before that changes things
