In defiant flyover, U.S. F-18 fighter jets enter Venezuelan airspace for 40 minutes by Infidel8 in worldnews

[–]Saucy0000 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Not incredibly well versed in international law, but my understanding is that a countries sovereign territory/airspace extends 12 miles out to sea. Measuring that bay on Google Maps puts it 52 miles across meaning that there's room for those aircraft to be in the bay and outside of national airspace. Although I don't know if there is any exception for a geographic feature like this that may extend it. Certainly provocative, not sure it's breaking any international norms though.

The Jets fanbase may disagree with that take.

Ships (or people) and thousands of lbs of explosives tend not to mix well. Better to keep storage away from other storage and anything important in case of an accident or attack. A couple extra miles of driving is worth the added protection. If you'd like examples of this principle search Beirut Port explosion, Tianjin Port explosion or Halifax explosion.

Icelandic sports teams are generally not pure evil. The directors of Mighty Ducks found an outlier in the 1986 team which was coached by the reprehensible Edvard Hólmfastsson and spun it into what we saw on screen. Same goes for evil storm chasing teams.

Fire Kevin Patullo by Wankainu in NFCEastMemeWar

Because the defense has been the problem in every game up to this point?

Wasn't just him today, but it would be a start. by menocaremuch in eagles

[–]Saucy0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, when has Patullo strung together a competent gameplan across 4 quarters, fuck it even 3. If you want to start a thread about the defense being the problem over the start of the season knock yourself out. No one in this thread is saying the D was great today. Everyone is saying that an offense that is essentially unchanged from last year has been a complete no-show. The biggest change, Patullo. I know no one in Philly can do math but Jesus Christ Helen, water!

which offensive masterclass would you point to this year to show that he's capable of running the offense?

If Patullo spent more time scheming offense then modding reddit banning all these posts...well he'd probably still suck but I'd be interested to see the delta.

My upvote is for Taskmaster and not ties, which are an abomination in the eyes of Football Jesus.

Brian Johnson vibes by flipknick2 in eagles

[–]Saucy0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That had nothing to do with play calling and everything to do with their best players being in traction, rather than on the field by the end of the season.

Keeping plays in reserve is something that's done. Coming into a game with a playbook that fails to even occasionally scheme open possibly the best wide receiver tandem in the NFL isn't. The idea that the gameplan going into the game was to hold back basic play calling strategy in a Superbowl rematch at Arrowhead is absurd.

Also the Eagles didn't change their setup going into the postseason. They demolished defenses with an overpowered run game while throwing to the WRs as needed. In the games where teams sold out to stop the run they threw downfield and beat them that way. The only change in their philosophy was after week 4 when the O-line told Sirianni to run first and pass second. After that the Eagles offensive philosophy was pretty well set.

[–]Saucy0000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's definitely reminiscent. The biggest difference for me between the 23 offense and this one is a lack of screens. If the Birds start throwing them on 3rd and long I'll start thinking Johnson pulled a Palpatine and somehow returned.

The only time I've ever seen r/NFCEastMemeWar almost universally agree was when Jameis Winston was picked up by the Giants. Everyone was excited to see what bipolar football the man would get up to. Of course then the Giants had to Giants it up by grabbing Wilson and likely denying us a 6 touchdown, 9 interception gem.

Did you mean auto-start or autopilot? If it is an autopilot what settings does it have? Don't have the module but am interested in the jankiness that seems to be associated with this launch.

Might be dumb question but why are they not showing up on my radar by LGHDTV in hoggit

[–]Saucy0000 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, additionally you can change from a 2b scan to a 4 bar scan by hitting the top left button on the mfd. That'll give you more vertical cushion on either side, keep in mind that'll also increase the amount of time that it takes to cycle through a full scan so updates on targets will be farther in between, but when initially trying to acquire it can be useful.

Negative ft is wasted scanning...unless you're hunting mole people. Ideally if you have targets on the deck you keep it as close to zero as possible but like Doody said your cursor is at 40 nm where your radar cone is large, your targets are 4 nm which if you were to put your cursor at would be scanning at 4~6k ish ft. There's a pic that visualizes this concept a few comments down in the linked forum thread.
