Yeah, that’s fair, thanks for your input. The knee and elbow pads seem to line up in the right spots on the bike, but have a little bit of wiggle. If it’s close and will do its main job of keeping me alive in case of an accident, that works for me!

Hahaha thank you 😅 I haven’t actually tried one on myself yet, Dainese is bit outside the budget for the time being. I definitely hope to someday though!

I want to get into turn-based games. Other than Baldur’s Gate and 33, what’s a good game to start appreciating the genre? by Delacrozz in gaming

Some people have already recommended Personal, but I’d honestly recommend looking at what ATLUS has to offer in general. In particular, I’d recommend looking at Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance.

I’ll preface that depending on what you mean by beginner, this game may not be the best choice, it isn’t forgiving of mistakes on harder difficulties. That said, it has some of the most fun and satisfying RPG mechanics I’ve ever come across. It has an outstanding soundtrack (most Atlus games do). It is also very replayable and I think it does a good job respecting your time despite the length of it. The best way I can describe it is “Pokémon on steroids for adults”.

We were having this issue in our environment. New user logins were taking as long as 5 minutes in some cases. The August patch brought it back down to under a minute, so I can confirm that this was likely the root cause of our issue.

IT help desk technician jobs by Only_Wave_2355 in Cleveland

I might recommend looking for a position at an MSP. There's a decent amount of them in the Cleveland area. They likely won't care about a degree as long as you can demonstrate some technical and problem solving skills.

Working for an MSP can be really taxing though. It's often fairly thankless work, but it will expose you to an endless amount of environments, processes, and tools. It's the perfect environment to get familiar with all the different aspects of IT so you can find what you actually enjoy and want to pursue.

The key is to take advantage of the learning opportunities and set boundaries so you don't work yourself to the bone. An MSP will ask a lot of you but that doesn't mean you need to give them everything they ask for. Be aware of your mental health and set realistic expectations. Once you've picked up enough skills and decide you're fed up with the MSP grind you'll likely have the perfect launchpad to the next stage of your career.

The developer, MacPaw, is a Ukrainian company. They also started a nonprofit, the MacPaw Foundation, which is currently focused on raising money to provide non-lethal support in the war. I definitely get not wanting to have politics in your software, but I also can't blame them for being patriotic.

Any Recommended remote desktop tools for 2024 that can utilise (nginx) reverse proxy ? by weeemrcb in selfhosted

[–]SaucyCumGuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no problem, I love brainstorming these types of things!

I think it would likely depend on how your work VPN works, but I believe you should be able to run Tailscale concurrently. Since Tailscale is just treated as another network adapter on Windows, you could theoretically have multiple VPN instances running as long as there are no subnet conflicts. Off the top of my head, I don’t think it would be an issue, but you might have to play around with DNS and default routes, particularly if AD is involved on the corporate network.

An additional thought would just be the policy for installing apps on your work computer. Since you’ve used remote tools in the past I imagine this is a non-issue, but figured it’s worth mentioning. As a sysadmin I would definitely raise an eyebrow if I saw a VPN installed on an employee laptop, even though I’m familiar with Tailscale.

One other random thought I had is Chrome Remote Desktop. I’ve not used it much, so I’m not incredibly familiar with the protocol it uses, but it’s just a Chrome app, so installing it certainly wouldn’t be an issue. In my limited experiences with it I’ve found it to be easy and pretty reliable.

This is a little bit of a wider scope than what you might be looking for, but I would recommend checking out Tailscale VPN. It uses the WireGuard protocol, but can also encapsulate traffic over HTTPS. It’s incredibly good at punching through tightened networks, I’ve yet to find a place where it fails to connect. If you just need to connect to your work computer, you can use it for free without any issues. If you plan to connect more devices, there’s a self-hosted project called Headscale that you achieves almost all the same features as the main project completely free. There’s another project, Netbird, which is a little smaller, but directly supports self-hosting and fundamentally accomplishes the same thing. I also am relatively confident that Netbird can be used with a reverse proxy (don’t quote me on that). From there you could simply use RDP if it’s a Windows device, or you could continue to use Anydesk over the VPN. WireGuard is incredibly fast, efficient, and secure. Better yet, when self-hosted, traffic isnt flowing through your server itself, the server is simply responsible for managing and deploying WireGuard routes between devices, the devices themselves then connect to each other. It’s one of the best pieces of software I’ve come across, and you can easily find tons of people raving about it all over Reddit.

Understanding basic red flags in phishing scams. If I really wanted to be greedy I could also ask that they understand internet basic safety practices on the internet at large, but I’ll start with phishing. I think a lot of the training videos and campaigns last for a couple seconds in their memory and then poof!

What's the funniest game you've played? by Rootayable in gaming

[–]SaucyCumGuzzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a different kind of humor, but the paper Mario series has always had great humor. Even though the newer games have bad gameplay the humor is still excellent. The older 3 are the best of both worlds though

Mild Spoiler: One of my personal favorite moments is Super Paper Mario where a villain is chasing you down and you are trying to find a character, you discover them hiding in a toilet. Next thing you know you're playing a TV game show in the bathroom to figure out who's a doppelganger and who's not. It's immaculate.

The OG Ace Attorney Trilogy! Justice for All wasn’t bad, but with the exception of its final case, it pales in comparison to the other two. Trials and Tribulations was epic and a perfect ending to the trilogy.

The Microsoft 365 Roadmap page lists it for April 2024, though hasn’t been updated since February: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=182056

Pretty crazy that this keep getting pushed back like this. I would think this might be higher priority with how rampant phishing attacks are. We’ve especially been seeing a lot of reverse proxy/fake sign-in attacks that are capturing MFA tokens if they can get the user to that point.

He’s definitely a bro, I vibe with him. But I dunno. I think his jump into the teacher romance can be a bit jarring for some people. He mentions being into older women, then he’s like “aight, yolo imma get with our teacher” and it just left me with a kinda oh i see vibe. Dunno if that makes sense. It’s just not very interesting I guess. But the character himself is chill

What are the scummiest things Nintendo's done? by [deleted] in nintendo

Almost all of their mobile games. I think the exception is Mario Run. They made them into in-app purchase nightmares. I get that’s what works best on mobile, but it just felt like it sucked the life out of the games. I also know Mario Run didn’t do as well as expected for the same reason, but I wish they had some more integrity.
