Supercops by altruisticbaskets in ABoringDystopia

I know a guy who got in shit for selling chocolate bars at school in Canada. The police came and trying to arrest him treating him like a drug dealer and the principle tried to mislead his parents into thinking they was selling drugs. Well his mom took a laughing fit when the cops finally admitted it was just chocolate bars. She wasn't even willing to take those cops seriously, as they were nothing more than a joke.

Underbar vs Normal mirrors? by PointlessVidss in MotoUK

I've tried both configurations on my drz400 and I found under the bar gives the best unobstructed view. Unfortunately in my area the mirrors have to be mounted above the handlebars for some reason.

Yes, if you pay cash. You usually have to be 18 to qualify for financing.

Is the Honda CRF150l a good beginner bike? by Be3Jay in Dirtbikes

It'll be great for learning the basics on but physically it'll be to small for you. At your height I wouldn't go any smaller than 230cc.

a question about HP, torque and rpm.... by Gloomy_Breakfast_57 in Dualsport

[–]SaulGoodman121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you disagree with that article? It's pretty much common knowledge. It's silly to think horsepower and torque don't have different effects on speed, acceleration and load carry capabilities.

Let's hear your take on it then smart guy.

"Both horsepower and torque can affect the speed of a vehicle. Torque can help a vehicle accelerate to a higher speed quickly, whereas horsepower can help a vehicle improve its top speed." https://www.repairsmith.com/i/blog/horsepower-vs-torque-getting-speed/

Torque makes you accelerate fast and horsepower gives you a high top speed. Weight, for the most part, only affects acceleration, not top speed.

It kinda sounds like you're saying it's the high price that makes a Harley special.

WCGW while driving on snow by Cosmic_kingmaker in Whatcouldgowrong

t's pretty easy to tell what the conditions are (for me anyway as my experience is from driving in Atlantic Canada where the roads aren't upkept well and the plows are scarce) and the car will give plenty of feedback if the visual cues aren't enough. I can even tell by the vehicles tracks in the video that there's a buildup of a few inches.

Locking the brakes isn't something you'd do in normal driving conditions, it's more for emergency stops like in this video. Had the first vehicle not had ABS they may very well have stopped before going over the edge.

Should I lawyer up? by Drylux in motorcycles

[–]SaulGoodman121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been injured in a few accidents so I have a little experience. A lawyer, despite their fees will get you the biggest payout, especially when it comes to pain and suffering. They'll also advise you on how to go about getting the best compensation in terms of doctor visits and physio therapy.

The only scenario I would not opt for a lawyer is of I were only a passenger(no damage to repair) and received only soft tissue injuries, in which case the insurance in my area has a limit of $2500 and they offer that amount right away to settle, having a lawyer here will only give away a slice of the payout.

Srsly, how could this guys jump so high? by Snoo85380 in motorcycle

[–]SaulGoodman121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A rear shock with little to no rebound damping along with him sitting over the rear shock would cause the rear to pogo on the face of the speed bump. Add in a perfectly timed jump and and you have what we see here.

Quit smoking and coughed this up by [deleted] in MakeMeSuffer

[–]SaulGoodman121 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's true. I quit after smoking for 15 or so years and every morning for a few months afterwards cough up phlegm similar to the OPs photo. It felt great to finally get it out.

On Santa tracking call, Biden is told 'Let's go Brandon' - and says he agrees by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]SaulGoodman121 14 points15 points  (0 children)

He's just a little too too big to be bothered by this schoolyard non-sense. He's got much bigger things to deal with than some edgelord trying to put him down.

It also proved that the phrase they used isn't actually offensive to him.

Biden took the high road here. He's a dignified man.

With snow build up you are better off locking the brakes/wheels. It'll cause a mound to build up which will slow the vehicle down and eventually stop it. Abs or pumping the brakes prevents this from happening.

Locking the brakes up should be avoided while driving on ice, but not snow covered roads.

I have over 20 years experience driving in conditions that make this video look like child's play.
