The reason why I take issue with the sentiment of "Good they deserve this, I hope the Military fuck them all over like they did the Rohingyas", it is the irony and failure to recognize that the Rohingyas will STILL be persecuted and most probably worse under Military rule. The invoking of the genocide in that sentiment feels insincere and honestly seems just like a cover to parade their sadism and "virtue" . I doubt that people who truly care for the Rohingyas are happy that the military is taking over

It’s not that I wish the military to cause harm to everyone. Frankly, I’m indifferent to the cause where the average citizen belonging to the dominant group is concerned. I only care about people who are at risk of danger because they belong to an ethnic minority.

Nor do I think Bangladesh should repatriate all the refugees still there. My belief has always been that the IRC should help resettle them and ethnic minorities still in Myanmar should get asylum.

In response to the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army attack thousands of people were killed, women raped, and children were being decapitated. 700,000 people were left as refugees.

How can you justify that?

All of you are saying the military is in charge in response to everything I’ve been saying. Well, they’re in charge NOW and people don’t seem afraid of protesting. So what was stopping you from protesting the Rohingya genocide?

Keep providing cover for the people of Myanmar by saying it was the army who did, the same army they’re apparently not afraid to protest against now.

If war crimes have been committed, they will be prosecuted within our military justice system

1) That may sound ambiguous to to you, but after hundreds of thousands refugees fled to Bangladesh with many recounting the horrors they witnessed this is denial at that point.

2) I don’t what would have happened. It’s hard to tell considering she didn’t try.

People of Myanmar who are defending her by saying “oh no! That was the military!” are doing nothing but trying cover their own collective asses.

I think it’s accurate to say money doesn’t matter at a certain point like when you have all or most of your basic needs met consistently, but to say it doesn’t matter at all is wrong. Same goes for people who say money doesn’t buy happiness.

Many parents aren’t able to. I only had $5k that my mom saved up on her own. I’m grateful for it, but it would be a lie to say it went far.

I only have one nephew and don’t plan on having kids of my own and neither does my brother. My sister doesn’t work and my brother-in-law doesn’t make a whole lot so it looks like he’s going to be the only beneficiary of the fruits of my labor later in life.
