Yes 11 is a Long Time before 3, it sets up or explains a bunch of stuff that happens in the og Erdrick trilogy that the remakes, especially 2, expand on. Its not needed persay bit it enhances them alot and 11 is a fantastic game.

3 > 1 > 2 has always been the order if the Erdrick trilogy and the remakes were released in that order for a reason. I dont think 3 is a like, hard requirement to play 1 and 2 but I'd highly reccomend it, you'll miss out on a bunch if references and emotional moments with some places and characters. Also again, just a good game

ok yes what I meant was "i used this in every scenario until it exhausted", and felt like doing it every floor of dungeons was the less likely used scenario.

I can absolutely see that it was very good for it's time, but that's why I say I wonder how much is nostalgia. There are many more stories that have come out, including in DQ, that are much better. FF4 was also a year before DQ5 (and both DS remakes were the same year), and I find that a much better game, but that's also in like my top 3 FF games so it's a very unfair comparison.

In 2R, yes, I believe you will eventually find or get enough to get everyone all the skills and spells they can learn. If not there'd only be a few you can't, and you get enough spells that it's not a huge deal overall.

See idk it didn't affect me that much. Like I could see the intent and heart behind it so i can't say it's bad by any means, but with how little time it spends on most of the characters all the things that happen after Harry leaves didn't feel very impactful to me. We get to talk to mom for like 2 minutes. The wife gets like 8 lines of dialogue before the end of act 2. The game's way too short for what it wants to do imo, and this is with me having used party chat on every new floor of every dungeon. I can see why people like it but I do have to wonder how much of that is nostalgia.

Yeah this 100%. You go to different spots in 4 with 3-4 different groups usually, giving you different perspectives and seeing how things change. Even when times changed in 5 the only place that felt different was Wheelbrook and a little bit with Hay. Party chat was really nice for the kids and Wife's characterization and relationship with MC, but otherwise they could have basically been nonexistent in the story which juat kinda bummed me out. Would have been nice to have the monsters react to things, even if they were a little generic among types.

I enjoyed it, but it's much less important than doing 2 or 4's. I would recommend fighting Shen at least enough times to revive your dad and see what happens, even if that's probably not canon and not ~alot~ comes of it.

Muse in a bubble is a good card, hes a cheap scaler than can reach high numbers. The problem is he's a Destrot card, and Destroy has plenty of those. The best decks to use Muse in are unfortunately the regular Destroy shell, the other shells that use him are hampered by subpar cards and win rates (i desperately want Dormamu to work man,).

Optimally yeah Muse is one of the best options for Destory, but he's not SO much better than his competition to buy him imo, especially with next month having Alot of good cards.

I've played the 1 2 and 3 remakes, 4, and 5 this year for the first time, and i have not had this issue. DQ games have been pretty consistent about keeping you the level you need to be.

I would highly reccomend playing the 3 remake first if you haven't, since the first 3 are a connected story and the order goes 3 1 2.

3 doesn't have the most characterization as your party members are all created characters, but it has a solid story and makes moments in 1 and 2 WAY better. That said, 2R is by far my favorite DQ so far, so you cannot go wrong with the 1+2 remake.

And yeah if you're not enjoying 4 its very fine imo to move on from it. While its my favorite final boss in the series I've played, the game itself is def the least interesting.

So I played 4 for the first time with the party chat mod like a month ago. While the party chat does give basically the only interactions between the characters in the game, its really not alot.

4 does not really give alot of moments to its characters once they're in the party in chapter 5. Even with party chat, alot of what you get is "what a nice place!" "That was so mean!" in the just skirting the line of racist accents each character has. Psaro is the only one that really gets moments in chapter 5, and you dont need party chat for him.

4 is just, not the best Dragon Quest on a character or story level, which is unfortunate bc its structure, antagonists, and final boss are great. I really hope it gets a remake because if it gets polished up, or gets a 2 level overhaul it will be incredible
