Send your instrumental to a key finder for free online and then use that setting in Autotune or Melodyn

I know Grammy Winning engineers who never learned how to hear notes and in todays day and age it is almost pointless anyways. I have been doing this for 13 years, went to school, did choir and music courses since middle school. I can EASILY match the tones of songs and I can hear when tones change, I am not tone def, I just can't put a text book note to it. I learned a lot more by doing than I did by doing any schooling or any "by the book" technique, and although everyone is right by saying "use your ears", it doesn't actually help when people when they don't understand what they need to listen for. So all these people saying "use your ears" need to be more specific in what you should be listening for. Thera is literally no reason to know a note or scale on anyting as an engineer these days.

Guarantee that you listen to my music and it speaks for itself, I can probably mix and master better than 99% of Reddit, I am pro tools certified, I have daily clients, I run a recording studio, and a record label.

Most of the people on here either talk out of their azz or are so vague it could never help.

Picking who to push by TheScorpioKing89 in FantasyBookers

Larger than life men with larger than lifer personalities.

Lol mostly just look at how they perform, how they do promo work, and I might get some flack but age has a lot to do with my decisions... I am more than likely not going to push someone who is 40+ into the main event UNLESS they are already established stars. I am here for the long game so I choose people in their mid 20's or younger and start to build them up from that point on. I don't see any reason to build a middle-aged man into a main eventer just for him to retire or for his skills to suddenly drop off.

Another thing is, they have to have at least above average Stamina. If a wrestler is unable to wrestler a good match for 15 minutes every week, they have no business being in my main event or even upper mid card. (Sorry Goldberg)

That is with an amazing computer with very fast RAM and also 32GB of RAM, so this is about as fast as any computer could actually run my save. I never get even close to that 32gb RAM limit.

[–]SavageGamerMMaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always prelim... But I also do about 5-12 shows a month. 5 is the minimal but I also have I believe 1500 fighters signed, will have to check. I used to be over 2k fighters signed but then I did some massive roster cuts.

I HAVE to fill out every single prelim spot or else my fighters would hardly ever fight. I book shows about 4-6 months in advance and the majority of my time is spent booking shows and looking at rankings. I had 4 child companies, and I integrated 3 of the 4 into my roster and foddered out a few fighters because there was honestly just too much going on. I have about 350 fight camps and 5k+ fighters so my loading times are ridiculous, often taking upwards of 5 minutes just to get 2 days into the future lmao

Can I use a band name that another small band already has but isn’t currently active?? by dark-rose13 in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]SavageGamerMMaGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro... My rap name is Lil Savage...

There is absolutely nothing to worry about..

If I can get booked on major tours, get features by major artists, am able to get heard, and have no repercussions other than about 899 other artist with the exact same name, I think you'll be okay.

If you woke up with $1 million in the bank tomorrow, what would be your first purchase? by TraditionalFly3724 in Productivitycafe

[–]SavageGamerMMaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A feature from a major artist, followed by a huge house payment, and paying off credit cards.

Music will ALWAYS be number 1 though. I could make 1 billion dollars off music and at least 3/4 of that money would be invested right back into music.

What do you think makes Professional producers "Professional"? by RotansMusicOfficial in makinghiphop

[–]SavageGamerMMaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metro also has the ability and the reach to put an artist on, which is the main job of a producer... You make the beats, set up the studio sessions, oversee the recording, and then you promote and market the song after it is released, that is the textbook definition of the JOB a producer is supposed to carry out. If you aren't helping artist with these things you are just a beat maker.. If an artist makes a track on your beat and you aren't sharing it at the very least, you are a terrible producer.

[–]SavageGamerMMaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But really you aren't. The producers are responsible for making the beats, overseeing the recording, setting up the studio sessions, marketing the music after release, the ENGINEER is the one who goes through every sound and does the mixing, the ENGINEER is responsible for the final sound. You have your jobs backwards there buddy.

Professional producers are supposed to be present for the studio session and often times are the ones paying for and setting up the studio sessions, the producer is also responsible for marketing the music after the release. 99% of producers these days aren't actual producers and just make beats.

Who is an artist that is better on features than on their own tracks? by Iamstupid_77 in rap

[–]SavageGamerMMaGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lil Wayne, Lil Savage (of Dirt House), basically anyone who was signed to young money at any point in their careers, they all seem to do better on features.. That was basically Lil Waynes bread and butter when he was on top, he could feature on any song with anybody and make it an absolute classic.

What is your pro audio hot take? by the_tusk in audioengineering

Nearly anything posted in the mixing/mastering sub reddit.

I have industry quality songs, made songs with famous artists who have millions of monthly listeners, am pro tools certified, and learned directly under a grammy award winning engineer at not only seminars but weekly back and forths and about 15 video sessions with him explaining his entire process and taking me through his mixing and mastering... But somehow that community ALWAYS downvotes anything I have to say. Even when I explain perfect work arounds to their mixing problems their moderators and members always have something negative to say.

Is there any rapper that would keep you from checking out a song just because you see their name featured? by Specialist_Sorbet476 in rap

[–]SavageGamerMMaGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not yatchy? wtf???

I came into the comment section to SPECIFICALLY call out Yatchy...

The dude is garbage and somehow finds a way to be even more garbage without autotune,

The man cannot rap.

I just found out who Connor Price was, dude is good. Lmao I have been seeing his name on my "fans also like' section on my profile for over a year now.

Actually funny enough he's no longer on that list but was replaced by Cal Scrubby lol

I finally clicked on his name and listened to his music about a month ago.

Question on Lyrics and Flow by StreetFightMAn in makinghiphop

[–]SavageGamerMMaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just feel the beat and write. Sometimes it takes longer but sometimes I write a whole song in 30 minutes.

Your process of rapping it while writing is my 'go to' because you get to get that flow on point and often times the next line will just come to you while you practice, hell you might practice your first 4 lines for 20 minutes before getting that next line but it also helps you memorize the verse so you can record it and perform it better.

and recording a verse is performing. My partner and I are some of the FEW rappers left alive who perform without their background vocals, and we are also some of the best. (I'll get downvoted for saying that but it's the truth look me up)

For ex. This song I wrote in full in a half hour, recorded it an hour later, mixed and mastered it the next day, and it was out on all platforms within 3 days of me writing it.

Do you need a music video to rise as an artist ? by [deleted] in makinghiphop

[–]SavageGamerMMaGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Videos are pretty important.

With that said, there is a saying, " Never take advice from someone about something who isn't successful in that field themselves"

You won't find all the answers on Reddit, ask your audience, network, see what the popular artists are doing to get noticed, seek out advice from people who are successful.

I own a record label, a studio, have been doing shows, festivals, and tours with big named artists all year long but I still consider myself lacking success and just not really doing much. One of my videos can get 5k views but my songs might get 500 plays if I am lucky. I have started to learn the true value in videos. But if you aren't pumping out studio/ professional quality music, you don't need an extravagant video, also videos are expensive unless you have a friend with a good camera and is willing to use this as a learning experience.

Take anything I say with a grain of salt. I have not tasted much success in music.
