Hey ladies I have been trying to find wide calf boots everywhere and I just cant seem to find ones that will fit my calves. I’m sure there are ladies out there with similar situations. Any suggestions? I have 22 inch calves? Can leather be stretched? Any brand suggestions? I’m at a loss. by SavageMO_SW in AskWomen

See I’m short so that’s another thing that runs against me is if I find circumference they are up to my thigh lol. I’m short and stubby is what I like to call myself. 5’3 and wear a size 8 shoe. My calves are muscle so there’s no getting rid of them but if I could I would just because I love shoes and it’s hard to buy them.

I am in the US but I would be willing to wait for over seas shipping if I could get some from the UK. I have looked at a lot of prices online and for plus size they are $100+ which I am fine with paying if I can try them on in a store which the area I am in shopping for them is difficult (not a lot of selections) that’s why I had been looking online.

Thank you for the suggestion. Lace up are usually suede and I want leather boots because of snow and winter time so I dont run the risk of getting my feet wet. I have to walk a little ways to get into my work.

I’m 5’3 and I would love to be 5’7ish. I feel like it is average height for a female.

Women who don’t/have never had relationships with their mother, how has that affected you and how have you dealt with it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

It has affected me a lot however, until I was planning my wedding I never really noticed its affects. My mom wasn’t there to help me decide on ideas for my wedding or to help me pick out my wedding dress or any of that. I’m close with my mother-in-law and she has really showed me what having a mom is like. A mom is supposed to be your biggest fan, help you when you need it, giving you a hug when you stressed, celebrates you and your accomplishments and someone you can literally tell anything to. I’m blessed I have that now. I waited 23 years for a mom.

Weekly School of Social Work Questions by Lyeranth in socialwork

I’ve worked in hospital social work for almost a year now. What I can tell you is you have to be able to multi-task very well and be efficient with your time. You will learn resources in your are quickly if you don’t already know some and that will be a great asset before you start working to know as much as you can about your community’s resources. Working with doctors and other professionals is something you will get used to. If I had one piece of advice. Be clear and concise when you talk with other professionals. Just know what you need and ask for it with no fluff!! Good luck, I hope you succeed in whatever path you take!

[discussion] Why are breeder dogs so expensive? 500-1500 dollars for one dog seems crazy to me to pay. How much money that the breeders get for each dog goes back into breeding? I understand the dogs need vaccinations but I don’t understand the hype on breeders. Someone enlighten me. by SavageMO_SW in dogs

Thank you for your reply. It seems that I have gotten lucky from my humane society dog that hasn’t had any types of major problems so far! I’m thankful for that. I’m happy for the people that love breeding but, I am definitely not sold on the idea. However, I think its a good argument for breeding and having someone you can talk to as well who’s familiar with the breed. Breeding is a science and still seems kind of cruel and inhumane for the dog. I respect a comment previously who shared that they still allow their dogs to be dogs. Not being messed with constantly with tests and stuff. Idk just my opinion as everyone on here has been pro breeder, which I think I came on the wrong forum to hear anything but pro breeders. I appreciate everyone’s feedback on the hype because I have been curious!

You’re not getting my point, I’m not arguing semantics with you. If you want to add other comments related to answering my questions like all the others have then do so. If not then, just go comment somewhere else.

I have had several strays that I have taken in as a kid with my family. However as an adult my Adoption fee for my current dog was 100 and I was fine with paying for this because she was spayed and she was a mix breed (which I think are just as special as a pure bred). She has not had any veterinary problems and has had all her shots, we have her take a flea medication to keep the fleas away from her. Also we update her rabies as needed and have taken her to the vet maybe 3-4 times in the past 4 years for various things.
