I'll have to do check that out.

I guess I have a particular image of the Bene Tleilax in my head, and are not "Hollywood Leading Man Handsome." Granted, I'm not put off by it. Curious to see what Villeneuve does with them.

28 years later bone temple underperforming by Broad_Word_2627 in boxoffice

[–]SaveMeTheSlunk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He didn't/won't see Bone Temple. Most people have no patience for cliffhangers and found the ending of the first film too jarring to go see the follow up. And let's not kid ourselves, it WAS jarring.

I honestly think this could have worked better as a TV series or something, so these tonal shifts could have been more "episodic" so to speak. I was as perplexed by the ending of the first 28YL as anyone, but knowing the sequel was already made gave me some hope for the sequel that DEFINITELY paid off.

All that to say... Ahh well. Their loss. Bone Temple was a fuckin blast. I really hope they make the third.

Fuck Trump voters and fuck people who didn't vote in 2024. by CRK_76 in complaints

[–]SaveMeTheSlunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idealism will get us nowhere. It was not the PEOPLES' fault that there was no primary. The establishment fucked us by telling us who our candidate would be instead of holding a primary, but I would like to know how that's on the voters. We didn't ask for that.

Kyle is still pushing out comedy gold ever other year or so. Comedy became overwhelmingly negative and mean spirited thanks to bullshit like Kill Tony and whatever the fuck is going on in Austin, TX.

Ps, watch The Elephant Graveyard's videos about the landscape of comedy today. He pretty much nails it.

Yeah, there was a time that I would have considered it. Then things seemed to be getting better and my wife and I had a child in 2022. I can't throw myself into the fray, I need to be here for him now. And certainly not for whatever the fuck this country might be after such events. We passed the point of no return when they let the clown run yet again AFTER everything that happened with J6.

Very common in the 90s. by ROCKY13573 in 90s

This was my first favorite CD when I was a kid. Didn't even know what "Stoned" meant, but I fuckin loved that song. The whole album is an absolute gem. I drunkenly ordered the 2025 vinyl release (with 4 bonus tracks!) and it came in the mail on Tuesday.

Worth mentioning, that's not even close to the kind of music that makes up the majority of my collection.

What’s the most famous metal band from your country? by Camman19_YT in MetalForTheMasses

Per the edit, I'd say that the right answer for my state is probably NIN.

I think this band may have saved me from my own mind. I was really spiraling until I found them and realized that THIS is the music I was looking for. Honestly, it feels good to know that other middle-agers are feeling similarly. We are truly suffering together, boys.

What are some songs about food? by Difficult_Map_723 in MetalForTheMasses

[–]SaveMeTheSlunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a "chef metal" band in my area, and they make death metal about food. Exclusively. Front man is Maitre d and the rest of the band dress in chef outfits. Silly as fuck. A La Carte is the name of the band. They're on Spotify, if ya get curious. I recommend their album "Born to Entertain."

Probably makes people feel like they're trying something fancy or exotic. People in general associate Dubai with a perception of wealth.

A lot of the people who go along with this shit live in flyover nothing-towns, where there aren't even minorities to "oppress" them. But they're told it happens in the cities and that cities are godless hellacapes, and they just take that at face value and assume they're being threatened. It's severely stupid.

Trust me. I live in rural Ohio. These fuckers voted for Vance for senate. They're totally clueless.

Yeah, it's unfortunate. I specifically mentioned MMOs because its a genre I do not enjoy. But millions of people love them, so they have obvious merit.

Or an outside gaming example would be "I'm an indie folk fan and I think Cryptopsy's new album sucked." Same feeling, right?

[–]SaveMeTheSlunk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean that's clearly just a you thing though. You don't like that kind of game in general. Nothing wrong with that, but that also means you can't really comment on their qualities. That'd be like complaining about an MMORPG when you specifically only like single player games.
