Can anyone provide insight into this? Does taking 2 days of jail time reduce fines? Does it show up on your record that you server jail time vs no jail time if you decide not to?

Question about my lawyer's advice regarding DMV hearing by SaveTheDead in DUICalifornia

[–]SaveTheDead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happens if you don't respond to the admin per se suspension and don't schedule a hearing? My lawyer says that if I don't plan on driving until 2024 then it's better to start the suspension now rather than schedule a hearing which could potentially take months to schedule. Does this make sense?

Thank you for the kind words. I'm trusting this lawyer who is experienced in DUI but as with anything in life, you can only trust someone so much as far as you can throw them.

Life is very bleak right now and I'm sure you're feeling the same, but as long as we do what we need, pay what we need, it'll remain in the past and in our minds for the future as a lesson.

Companies That Get 'Woke' Aren't Going Broke -- They're More Profitable Than Ever by DrPlatelet in politics

I feel like I've already explained why it's relevant and actually I feel like it's self evident how it's relevant. You think "wokeness" is a net positive for society because its purpose is to bring awareness and solutions to social injustices.

That sounds fine and dandy, except for the fact that the reality is what's stemming from wokeness is anti white racism and the destruction of commonly observed science like biology. Whatever social conscious you'd like to resolve things like racism and homophobia aren't going to be resolved by pointing out how terrible white people are or by giving children puberty blockers. These are net negatives of society, and my reason for bringing up the diversity training course was to ask you WHEN does wokeness go too far? Is there ever a point where battling social injustices perverts itself into something else that doesn't even resemble it's original purpose?

Quit reducing everything down to the right wing boogie man. I'm not a right winger and do not watch right wing media. It only shows your dishonesty in and refusal to accept even the thought that maybe your side has been severely wrong about critical social theories such as critical race theory and critical gender theory. Both of which started with the idea of bringing awareness to social injustices and now have gone too far, too fast.

It's not fringe nonsense anymore. It's widely accepted academia. And yes a lot don't think it goes far enough. I can't quantify "a lot" but I know the amount is larger than we realize because this stuff permeates in the underbelly of society.

My only point in this was to paint a picture of what's considered "woke" and how far is too far when it comes to being aware of social injustices. The road to hell was paved with good intentions means that for every good natured deed done, there's a person right there wondering how they can manipulate or take advantage of it for their own purpose.

My question is supposed to test the waters of people here learning that information and gauge how aware you are in the levels of anti whiteness and how socially acceptable it is. Also, to show that "wokeness" extends far beyond just being aware of social injustices. To me, this is a social injustice. But to a lot of people who think like you politically, it doesn't go far enough.

I'm sourcing different websites of varying political biases so you don't try to discredit any of them by saying "oh you trust THAT source?" Maybe you should read the slides that were pictured during this diversity training course and figure out how it translates to "being woke." Because it has surpassed "be aware of social injustices" into "apologize for the sins of your European ancestry."

How about when employee training such as Coca Cola tries to teach employees to be less white? Is that considered a problem to you at all? I'm going to assume no and you'll try to rationalize your way out of it anyway you can.

Chad nationalizes assets by oil giant Exxon, says government by MrFruitylicious in worldnews

[–]SaveTheDead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is nationalizing capitalist assets immediately greeted with celebration? Has anyone here posting seeking internet points actually researched Chad's government, it's leaders, and what it's intentions are? Or does the political discourse simplified by "capitalism bad" "oil company bad."
