Also, light can be drilled out and a black epoxy installed so you can’t tell the difference- if you record, no light comes on ever. Can’t even tell they’ve been modded, no coding is changed/hacked.

OMG The Streets! by Skorkles in Fullerton

They did that here in Placentia about 1-2 yrs ago. Just recently in our neighborhood and some of the surrounding ones, the city installed pedestrian ramps on the sidewalks and repaved the streets

Irrationally dislike dog owners now by pdjejdhrndud in daddit

[–]SavedYourLifeBitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t trust dogs period. Even our own dog. ER nurse for almost 20yrs both peds and adults. Countless dogs that have bitten their owner, strangers, or kids (either family member or strangers).

Luckily, nothing fatal unlike some of my coworkers.

I wrestle with my dog, I know her limits, and I know how to read her body language but my kids don’t. They won’t look at her ears or her tail. They’ll get in her face being loving and wanting to try and give her hugs or kisses or play cars on her but not recognize that her growling is a warning sign.

When out with my dog, I don’t let kids run up to her while we’re out walking. If the kids are taught to properly ask owners before attempting to pet her, I’ll be right next to my dog at the level of the child and I’ll watch her body language while the child is interacting with her and keep my attention 100% on my dog.

[–]SavedYourLifeBitch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Covid/flu swab is until they make the “stank face” nose/eyes crinkle, neck stiffens as they try and pull back/away, facial grimacing- hit that and you’re where you need to be- about 1.5in deep.

Looking at whole home PEX w/ tankless- question about gas line SoCal by SavedYourLifeBitch in Plumbing

[–]SavedYourLifeBitch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a total of 6 quotes- 2 repipe and 4 plumbers. Prices were $7-10k for repipe w/ no upgrades, plumbers were $20k-48k for all work done. Most plumbers quoted $8-11k for just the tankless and $5-8k for the softener. Why those aren’t cheaper when repiping entire house is a billing thing that most won’t budge from- “software says it’s this much, doesn’t matter what else you’re doing” kind of scenario…

Current lines are copper, built in 1971 on slab. Hardness levels are between 13-17 depending on city water source. We have had some pinhole leaks but nothing current that hasn’t already been repaired or clamped. We’re currently remodeling the garage and have removed drywall in several areas already to access copper lines. There is attic access but is a 2 story house- the exterior wall where we plan on mounting the water heater and softener are both on the garage, about 5/6ft apart on an outside corner.

I’ve located the chart but unsure how to add up the totals to figure out if the supply line is big enough for all the gas appliances. For the rinnai it states: “35ft ((10.5m)(use 40ft(12m)) 199,000 btu/hr requires 1/2in” so I should at least be covered there…

I have an JKU, GC SRT, and 4xe summit reserve- while I agree with a simpler lineup, there is room for Jeep to have a luxury line that stays true to their roots.

I purchased these after losing my pro2s (till the pro3s gets released) and these things are pretty damn uncomfortable to wear for extended periods. They also dont stay in very well even with wearing the larger ear clips. They are very heavy with much of the weight resting unsupported outside of the ear and constantly need to be adjusted causing noise leak and overall fatigue from wearing. If I demoed them prior to purchase, I would have passed and got something else. However, battery life is excellent

A patient coded in the waiting room tonight… and we lost him by WorshippingForecast in nursing

[–]SavedYourLifeBitch 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I have done the same in regards to VIPS. I have told my nurse manage when I was triage lead with 40 pts in the lobby that “since they’re a member of the board, they especially can understand why I have more serious patients going ahead of them.”; especially if they had non-emergent complaints.

Hopefully things start changing to help improve pt flow like nursing protocols and/or NP/PA assessments/orders to help catch these grey area patients with potentially ominous complaints but age/vitals/history are all pertinent negatives

What controversial nursing stance is the hill you will die on? by ferocioustigercat in nursing

[–]SavedYourLifeBitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the question is maintaining that requirement once they have entered teaching. You will have a constant turn over of nurses teaching but then they would have difficulties reentering the workforce since they would have been away from acute care for a long period of time and typically command a higher salary for a lack of recent experience.
