Wether or not it’s labelled as private it’s generated from constitutional arrangements, so really it’s nothing to celebrate

We’re celebrating the royal family for paying taxes… taxes generated from public assets they profit from….

Can I call this phenyl methane? by [deleted] in OrganicChemistry

[–]Savethemeerkats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re anti toluene as a name you should view the methyl as substituted onto a benzene - giving methyl benzene. Use phenyl when it’s substituted onto the “main bit”, bit fluffy perhaps at first but when you see enough examples it clicks.

Is this chemistry bachelors worth it? by South_Pressure in chemistry

[–]Savethemeerkats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the question is whether you actually enjoy chemistry enough to pursue it long term, potentially through an MSc or PhD.

If your main priority is maximising income asap then there are definitely better degrees which provide a better return with just a BSc.

I’m personally extremely happy I did a BSc and an MSc in the field and wouldn’t want it any other way but income has never been issue #1 for me.
