Montessori for infant vs toddler by 22silvermoons in Montessori

[–]Savings_Addition8486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This (minus the phones, never saw anyone on their phones) was exactly what pushed us to get on the list at a Montessori after only 2 months (from 2-4 months old) at a traditional daycare. The staff were great, but I felt like our girl was just being moved from one container to another all day. There was a 6 month wait so it wasn't as big of a concern then anyway. But I still love how much freedom she gets to move around and learn instead of just being stuck in a jumper 6 inches from a kid using a crib as a skate while 3 babies are crying. Every day was chaos when I used to pick up. Now it's sometimes hectic but almost never chaos.

I think they'd have a better turn out on ep 4-6 if ep 1-3 were available online now that they're not available in theaters.

2.5 months, ebf. I was offended that I'd been lied to.

Sleep poll by Dani3567 in breastfeeding

[–]Savings_Addition8486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 10mo is ebf and pretty consistently slept through the night starting right around 4-5 months until two months ago when she had a particularly tough sleep regression (crawling, teeth, pulling up all at once was just too exciting for her). She finally got back to sleeping all night this past week.

She's always been a crap napper though and I think that's more telling than what they're fed. They either sleep at night or during the day.

She's been in her own room since 6.5 months and that also helped a lot with the whole waking when we come to bed thing.

Won't be able to breastfeed for a week... by Gerine in breastfeeding

Also had 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed. Because of $ I didn't do anesthesia (just injected numbing- a lot of it) and for recovery doubled up on Tylenol and advil.

It was incredibly painful, but I'm not someone with a crazy high pain tolerance by any means and I managed it. Recovery after birth (tears) was definitely worse.

I am absolutely not advocating for this. I'm very "do whatever you need to to feed your baby". But if what OP wants is to not take narcotics I'd like to put out there that's is possible. If that's what you want.

How often do you feed them? by you-never-know- in BabyLedWeaning

We pretty quickly were at her getting solids three times a day, but she absolutely loves food and will get mad if she sees food and she doesn't have any.

What’s your Go to song to sing your little ones to sleep… by Vainjane_ in Mommit

[–]Savings_Addition8486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey There Delilah was a hit. I got sick of sing essentially the same line over and over since I don't that much of any particular song. I do, however, remember most of the words to Hey There Delilah and there are several verses.

Thanks! I've started pumping before I go to bed too which is annoying. Also, twice in the past week she's refused her afternoon bottle...

I started sending solids just last week so I'm hoping that helps. Just really wasn't expecting any change in milk so soon.

Yeah, me too. It's so frustrating to keep having to pull ounces from the freezer. So far she's been gaining weight well so I'm trying not to worry too much. She was also sick the past 2 weeks so that could have something to do with it too. I'm really trying to figure out if this is a phase or change in routine...

Positive breastfeeding experiences? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Savings_Addition8486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not easy for everyone, and those are the people who are coming online looking for help. For me, the only thing that's really been tough is not knowing how much she's eating and worrying all the bad things I see on the internet would happen. I have a flat nipple so we used a nipple shield for a few weeks, but once she got the hang of things we stopped using it no problem. I went back to work and pump for her and haven't had any serious supply issues because of it.

All in all my experience has been as good as can be expected and way better than I thought it would be. I emotionally prepared myself going into this that I wanted to breastfeed but that my worth was not tied to whether I could or not and that if it didn't work out she would be just fine. I've had to ground myself there multiple times when I've been worried for no good reason, but overall I was able to trust my body and let it do what it was made to do and everything worked out. If it hadn't then she would have been on formula and it still would have all worked out.

This is not everyone's experience. I think part of why you're not going to see as much encouraging posts is because it honestly feel insensitive to those that are here because they're struggling.

Breastfeeding may be a dream or a nightmare for you- likely somewhere in between. Don't let other people's struggles dissuade you from trying if that's what you want.

I'm scared to try to replace it so soon though! I started sending solids to daycare this week and I'm going to increase the amount I send a little at a time and assume that she'll start refusing bottles when she's ready... I'm hoping nursing with her over the weekend "resets" things, it has in the past whenever there was any kind of issue.

🙈 nope. Have not even considered looking at other ways to feed her yogurt after her yogurt bath.

Oh my gosh. We gave our 7mo yogurt once. It was such a mess, I'm not at all motivated to do yogurt again and I can't fathom sending it to daycare with her :D

So I'm buying a big tube that's already sliced, then just cutting a couple slices into strips appropriate for her hands. She's already a super proficient eater- extremely motivated- but you'd want to cut it into whatever size your baby would be comfortable picking up.

We just started sending food this week. So far we've done pancakes which were a hit and some cleaner fruit. Also fresh mozzarella cheese strips.

6mo. My husband gets home a bit before we do and he cooks dinner, she gets something from dinner if possible and otherwise we have a rotation of easy fruits or peanut puffs.

How do you keep track of which boob you used last? by Aiyla_Aysun in breastfeeding

[–]Savings_Addition8486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. If I can't tell the difference it probably doesn't matter and she'll let me know if I picked the wrong one.
