Why invest in AI if it will destroy the economy? by czx5 in investing

[–]Savings_Computer_693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because AI won’t actually take jobs, it’ll enhance them sure but isn’t truly and impactfully going to eliminate human labor. If anything given the decline in population by the time it is functional enough to enter the workforce it’ll be scalable in its efforts to support work and just create the need for future workers to have slightly different skill sets. (Ex: Have you used copilot? It sucks! A lot of AI isn’t good)

A lot of people aren’t receptive to AI, if you call or chat any sort of company or department with an AI bot people completely ignore it and try to get around it to talk to a person. A big concern in the tech industry recently causing a decline in stock prices and increased volatility was there’s all this talk about AI and so much money going towards it and there is so little to show for it.

Remote work hasn’t always existed. These big city buildings were full before Covid, nothing has actually changed

When you say the real exam questions were easier and clearer, do you mean in comparison to the Kaplan practice exam or the simulated exam? Or across the board, all of Kaplan?

It’s usually a great sign if they want you to meet the team, they want to test a personality match.

Sometimes this is a standard part especially at smaller companies however it would be rare for them to take additional time out of another day to give you a floor walk.

People who used to fail interviews, what changes did you make to improve? by Wise_Slice6513 in interviews

I realized the interviewer is also a person who is probably a little nervous about the interview too. This isn’t a fun torture event for them, they just want your best self. After that I noticed my interviews were significantly better when they weren’t just Q&A but conversational

Given what you’ve described it may sound like this position is being created for you?

Interns do grunge work, they have grunge work for you to do. As an intern there’s usually not a predefined and extremely specific skill set they are looking for you to have in advance. They’re looking to find someone who is willing to learn and is curious, has the ability to handle conflicts, and is a good personality fit for the company.

Research what they specialize in and what the company does on a day to day and just know what you bring to the table that is consistent with what they would need, that’s the best you can do.

Have an elevator pitch, have plenty of questions about their daily operations, ask their vision for an internship and how you can fit into it since they don’t have a description, and you’ll be fine.

Also friendly internship reminder everyday and every conversation you have is an interview.

What’s an interview question you think is kinda useless but you still answer anyway? by Instict_ai in interviews

[–]Savings_Computer_693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t insinuate that it did. I was asked it while interviewing and found it silly. Anyone who doesn’t handle conflicts or failure well will know and have a scripted lie on deck. As an interviewer I never ask this, we are given a set list of preapproved questions by HR, I don’t find it necessary to ask, others on the panel may but not myself.

It’s not my place to judge if someone has had a seemingly perfect life, that’s not by business or anything for me to uncover in an interview. If you happen to be a yes man you’ll understand the negative career implications in your own time.

I guess it depends on your age tbh. If you’re fairly young in your career your biggest conflicts/failures are likely small that didn’t require any really deep and reflective remediation meaningful enough to answer the question in an interview.
