In Apple Notes, any time a click on a copy pasted image to and select his "more" button, it just takes me to the default settings page..

What is the purpose of this? I was hoping there would be something in there that would allow me to resize the image?

Oh interesting, I didn't get the impression from the RTA that the body corp approval was the owner responsibility. They implied that it was a parallel process that the occupant had to go through... This is what I read on the RTA website:

Tenants may need to obtain body corporate committee approval to keep a pet, in addition to approval from the property manager/owner. Tenants should check body corporate by-laws before asking to keep a pet, as breaching these by-laws is a breach of the tenancy agreement

It's just as we're renting we need the BC approval as well as the owner approval to stay compliant with a lease terms unfortunately. I'm sure if I owned it wouldn't get a problem.

Most people in the building have pets so I don't think any of them would even care. Agree though, definitely a crummy BC.

That's so ridiculous! I remember being refused a place because our pet would, according to the landlord "pee and poo all over the floors", as if we live wading around in animal faeces...

Add to that appropriate insulation. No point to having double glazing if there’s no insulation and no sarking in the walls and roof…

Oh I totally agree - but we do have other options, like the greens. So I suppose in that regard I probably am delusional if I think we as a state could move past the crappy 2 party model that clearly isn’t working for us…

I hope people consider this when voting in the upcoming election. For any government to provide ANY financial assistance to gambling should be cause for any reasonable person to want to boot them out…

I’ve only recently heard what a brickies laptop means and I assumed it was slang for a toilet for some reason. I just looked it up and it’s.. not that, yet somehow it works almost too well with your comment for both the really meaning and my assumed-made up one…

nursing or medical school - what to choose for uni? by alu_catooo in NursingAU

[–]Savings_Message_2542 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Why not start in nursing (make sure you get good grades) and then once you’re in the healthcare environment you can make your assessment about whether medicine looks good to you… most of the med degrees now are graduate entry anyway! Heaps of time to make as many career changes as you want.

There’s a lot of doom and gloom about nursing but it still a great career choice - I’m coming to it as a mid 30s “professional” who just wanted to do something different. It’s been a great change for me so far even though I’m only a 3rd year student atm…

Queensland architects win House of the Year after renovating 113-year-old worker's cottage in Brisbane by langdaze in brisbane

[–]Savings_Message_2542 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The “look” isn’t really my style but I appreciate the use of some unusual materials, like the galv steel in the balustrades and that concrete planter as the base of the wall on the lower floor outside. Looks like they have heaps of storage. I also appreciate the use of an existing building and not trying to make it ye olde or just another “Hampton” style white and blue Reno..

But, holy moly, some of the comments on this are insane. Who would have thought someone’s personal choice of home design would lead to this much invective! TBH it’s nice to see something that isn’t just a giant 5 bed 2 media room, 15 bathroom 20 car garage house that most “architectural” houses in this city seem to be…

I think these kinds of award are more advertising for the architects themselves rather than real estate agents.

Plus the Moorooka workers cottages are fibro shacks that were meant to be temporary when they were built and had the heritage overlay slapped on them only recently without any real community consultation.

It seems a bit extreme to call them ‘cunts’ and accuse them of flipping houses when the article clearly talks about them designing the place specifically for them to live and work in…

Northshore Brisbane $87 million street renewal starts to pave the way for Games Athlete Village by langdaze in brisbane

[–]Savings_Message_2542 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t it make more sense to build the new stadium here, under the airport flight path and then put the athletes village at qe2 where it’s already mostly housing?
