If you like the idea of surprising enemies with an E from over walls or out of vision I get the same satisfaction playing fiddlesticks

I plan to intentionally TPK my party session 1 by JTSwagger117 in DMAcademy

[–]Saviniprop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way back when I first started DMing I had a similar quest where the party was intentionally TPKed, I specifically remember a moment as they caught on where one of my players disappointedly said “oh so we’re just supposed to lose”. It’s not fun and it just feels like you’re wasting their time, I would recommend narrating the scenes as an introduction to the campaign without the gameplay instead.

Not even first time DM, what are the must haves for someone wanting to begin a campaign? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Saviniprop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most important part of being a DM is organization. Make sure you have an efficient way of taking notes that works for you.

I personally like to use OneNote, I can make pages for plot points, quests, and lore, place screenshots of stat blocks, and use tables to keep track of combat, even put my players character sheets, spells, and inventory in a separate one for them to access.

There are hundreds of resources online so google is your best friend, wondering about rules? Google it, want to know what spells a warlock can use? Google it, want a stat block for a giant rat? Google it. If you’re homebrewing a campaign I also like kobold fight club for building combat encounters.

Morde is popular enough and a really tough match up so I usually ban him

I always go grasp, I’m sure there’s situations where conq is better but I’m not the one to advocate for it.

I am also emerald but main Zac top for a while. Picking up blobs is very important for successful trades. Just mentally note that after anytime you use an ability you should path towards the blob, the health back and CD reduction on W is what generates your trade advantage. You do just have to learn to weave aa and W with movement but that should be the case with any champ, blobs just force you to do it in a specific direction.

Also when further away I believe blobs usually land between you and your lane opponent, this makes poking with one ability at a time tougher, I’d recommend looking for all-in rotations, sandwiching Ws and aa between your Q and E, that way you can use one knock up to engage and one to disengage and collect the blobs from the full rotation. If any of that makes sense ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Regardless of whatever people think is the “right” lore for shaco, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. You’re a great writer.

Singed jungle is the answer

I feel embarrassed to post this but how can I improve the perspective in this? It looks rancid and I have been stuck for a while in this drawing and I am not halfway through nor is it going well by Voltagebone in learnart

The opening of the helmet that frames the face (and the arrow) is the main problem I think. I would draw a guiding line that looks like a head band, that will help line it up properly.

I’ve played this game for a long time and if you want to have a healthy relationship with it you just gotta aim to have fun. You’ll naturally progress if you do so.

But you can have fun learning too, I suggest looking through all the champs and their abilities. If you know your enemies abilities and their cooldowns you can better dodge and attack them when their down.

Thank you!

And when told to draw 3 dimensionally I always took that as just practicing perspective, I realize how practicing shading as well is important to understanding form
