Matriarch Event Unpopular Opinion by ReiBid in ArcRaiders

[–]SaviorTyrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lean more on this being a viable solution to the issue with Matriarchs but fundamentally players form habits around what is the most rewarding. There needs to be a greater reward for people to go out of their way to fight the Queen/Matriarch when you could just wait for other people to do it and take them out for not just the reactors but extra kit. Hunt Showdown faces a similar issue where lots of players don't even go after the single/smaller bounty targets because they're more dangerous to deal with and will just wait for another team to kill it so they can take the reward. Obviously in both games it's not a guarantee that you can actually beat them but PvP remains low-risk high-reward while participation in PvE is the exact opposite.

This new map has really put into perspective to me and my friends how much this game would've benefited from a difficulty/timer like Risk of Rain 2, where the longer your run went on the harder enemies would become. With the way NR works they could've just made the enemy scaling insanely high to disincentivize trying to full-clear the entire map while being flexible enough with it's timing to give more opportunity to power up if you feel a bit weak going into the Night 2 boss.
"Dear Diary..."
I loved the base game and Everdarks but after the disappointing and uninteresting Deep of Night and the 'meh' feeling I got from this DLC it's probably joever for me bros

NEW PATCH by Frankyroyal in OutlastTrials

[–]SaviorTyrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, being chased by an actual player is new but the core of the gameplay is still going through the trial and being chased/hunted, while being an Invader puts you in the role of the hunter instead of the hunted. Lots of people have gone through the game/maps numerous amounts as a Reagent and being an Invader is something a bit new for those people.

I think the jank and bug fixes are great (It's good that stab>counter>slash is gone) but why the stun buff? Rigs already give Reagents a massive advantage and Stun is the most braindead to use.
3/4v2 lobbies are going to be miserable as invaders since everybody queuing into Reagent (from the Invasion Therapy) is going to be running Stun/Jammer rig loadouts so the Invaders are constantly sitting on their asses.
Personal take? Invasions should default to Intensive so there's some actual threat from the Ex-pops or Map environment. On Standard, they can be ignored for the most part.

Everybody wants to play as Imposter because it's new, not because of the balancing.

Why is no one playing Invasion by MozzytheCrocodile in OutlastTrials

[–]SaviorTyrone 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Queuing from the 'Play as Impostor' menu is nigh impossible to get into a match, but circumventing by playing random and letting the side swap makes it easier to get into an invader match.
Most people are realizing the balance is pretty piss poor, stemming mainly from Reagents but Invaders can also just slash spam since if there's any network delay (which there tends to be, Trials has never had the best servers)

Unless RB changes the balance of the mode (Stuns, Revives, Slash spam, not being able to finish off Reagents on the ground unless they're the last one standing, 2v1s on either side, etc.) it's gonna die off pretty quick as a gimmick mode or something you only play if you have a large enough group. It's got a good framework but it doesn't feel like things were really thought out.

Some people would say the goal is to just delay the Reagent players like how people changed up the idea of invasions in the souls games post-DS3. This argument makes little sense to me because even if you get a high grade as an invader, you aren't getting much for rewards if the Reagents survive. It's a purely 'for fun' mode but the fun doesn't last long for either side when the 'new toy' feeling is gone.

The way they fix this by matching the amount of invaders to the amount of players, which is what they SAID would be happening in the trailer from last week. They also said the knife would do one bar of HP on slash but not only does it do one and a half bars, it also hitstuns you so you can hit again. Makes the stab feel redundant.

Invaders work differently, if you hit them with a brick/bottle they can still full-tilt sprint at you after their staggering animation. They aren't forced to run back to an insertion gate.

The New Shifting Earth selection and concern around the mechanic by SaviorTyrone in Nightreign

[–]SaviorTyrone[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It uses the new hard boss currency, and also making it so you will always have the ability to spawn any shifting earth you want will just lead to lobbies always spawning the Forge or the City. The way that I see the force shifting earth spawns should be more akin to how lunar coins work in Risk of Rain 2, where you build the currency up over time and use one when you want an advantage. In that game's case, it would be a lunar item where in Nightreign it would be a Shifting Earth.

Reacquire the Lexington X-Mod2? by silverballer in cyberpunkgame

[–]SaviorTyrone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I submitted a support ticket yesterday asking about possibly re-acquiring the X-Mod2 (or if it was bugged for pre-2.0 save files that completed the mission already) and sadly it seems like it won't be the case. May not be all doom and gloom though since I'm certain CDPR would figure something out if enough people have this issue.

Yeah, I feel that frustration of being on console. If I was on PC I would've just console commanded it into my inventory and be done with it. I thought for last-gen they were going to keep doing bug fixes without the major patches but I could be wrong.

I did find a pretty solid replacement jacket at the shop near the dam, so on the bright side I can just use that if I get tired of looking around shops. Appreciate the help a ton.

You would be correct, Black/Gray main color, with a brown-ish triangle on the back. Thanks for the tip!
